The invention relates to a fastening device provided with a protection system of an attachment and the method of use associated with this device. The invention finds a particularly advantageous application in the field of aeronautics to protect a part that may be damaged by a screw used with the fixing device. [3] STATE OF THE ART [04] Fasteners are known for assembling two parts together with a conventional system of screw and nut type. These fasteners make it possible to hold the nut in position during assembly so as not to have to hold the nut during screwing. These fasteners are often used when the area of the nut is inaccessible to lock the nut in rotation with a wrench. [5] For this purpose, these devices comprise two branches capable of pinching the edge of a first piece. Two holes allow the passage of a screw through the branches. A nut, integral with an outer face of one of the branches, allows the screwing of the screw. A second piece is positioned against the outer face of the branch not carrying the nut. The assembly of the two parts together is effected by the passage of the screw inside the openings of the two parts and the screwing of the screw in the nut. The two pieces are then held between the head of the screw and the nut. These devices are also called clip-shaped nuts or clip nuts. [6] However, when screwing, the use of a screw that is too long can lead to damage done by the screw on an auxiliary part located behind the nut. The operator may not always realize that the screw he screwed has damaged the attachment, which can cause quality and safety problems to the extent that the damage will not be identified by the operator. In addition, even if the damage is identified, the damaged items will need to be repaired or replaced resulting in the risk of additional costs. [7] PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION [8] The invention proposes an improvement of known fastening devices 5 to solve the problem of damage to parts arranged behind the nut of the fastener. [9] For this purpose, the fastening device comprises a protection system formed by a casing fixed on the branch carrying the nut and at least partially covering the nut and an anticipated rupture zone 10 allowing the casing to disengage from the branch when the screw exerts a force on the envelope. [10] According to a first aspect, the invention therefore relates to a fixing device comprising two branches capable of pinching the edge of a workpiece, the two branches having internal faces facing each other and faces. external opposed to the inner faces, two orifices adapted to allow the passage of a screw through the branches and a nut secured to an outer face of one of the branches and positioned opposite one of the orifices, the nut allowing the screwing of the screw. The fastening device is characterized in that it further comprises a protection system formed by a casing fastened to the arm bearing the nut and at least partially covering the nut and an anticipated breaking zone allowing the casing to disengage from the branch when the screw exerts a force on the envelope. [11] The invention has the advantage of protecting an attachment 25 disposed behind the nut with the envelope. When the screw is too long and protrudes from the nut, it abuts on the casing and the force exerted by the screw detaches the casing of the branch carrying the nut. The envelope then covers the end of the screw and thus protects any attachment that may be in contact with the screw. [012] In one embodiment, the rupture zone is disposed on the envelope. [13] In one embodiment, the fastening device further comprises a retaining element connecting the envelope to the branch. This embodiment has the advantage of separating the envelope and the retaining element into two parts in order to adjust the mechanical properties of the two elements according to their roles. [14] In one embodiment, the rupture zone is disposed on the retaining element. [15] In one embodiment, the retaining element comprises an axial guiding member of the casing and a frame against which a flange of the casing bears, the rupture zone being disposed between the guiding element and the casing. frame. [16] According to one embodiment, the casing having an inner wall facing the hollow of the casing, the casing comprises a protrusion formed in its inner wall of the casing, the internal diameter of the casing at the level of the casing. protuberance being smaller than the largest diameter of the nut. [17] According to one embodiment, the envelope comprises a first substantially parallelepipedal portion, a second cup-shaped portion connected to one end of the first portion and a flange perpendicular to the axis of the nut positioned in abutment against the outer face of one of the branches. This embodiment has the advantage of surrounding and covering the end of the screw which can come into contact with the ancillary part. [18] According to one embodiment, the arm, opposite the branch bearing the nut, comprises an annular portion for clipping the fastener in a bore of a workpiece. This embodiment has the advantage of improving the holding of the fixing device. [19] According to one embodiment, the two openings in the branches are coaxial. [20] In one embodiment, the two branches are interconnected by a connecting portion of straight or rounded shape. [021] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a method of using the fixing device, characterized in that, a first bored part being positioned between the branches, a second bored part being positioned in contact with the opposite branch to the branch carrying the nut and an attachment being positioned behind the nut, it comprises the following steps inserting a screw through the bores of the parts and the orifices of the branches and aiming the screw in the nut until the disconnection of the envelope so as to avoid damage to the attachment. [022] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES [023] The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows and on examining the figures which accompany it. Identical elements, similar or similar, retain the same references from one Figure to another. [031] DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLES OF EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION [032] Figures 1 to 4 show a fastener 20 in the form of clamp comprising two branches 21, 22 folded U-shaped. These two branches 21, 22 have two orifices 33, 34 allowing the passage of a screw 43 through the branches 21, 22. A nut 40, fixed on the branch 22 ensures the screwing of the screw 43 to assemble the parts 48, 49 between them. in addition, the fastening device 20 comprises a protection system 29 for protecting an adjoining part 50 located behind the nut 40 when the screw 43 used is too long. [033] The fastening device 10 is used to assemble a first reamed piece 48 positioned between the branches 21, 22 with a second bored piece positioned in contact with the branch 21 opposite the branch 22 carrying the nut 40. [ 034] More specifically, the two branches 21, 22 have inner faces 24, 25 facing one another and outer faces 27, 28 opposite to the inner faces 24, 25. The two branches 21, 22 are interconnected by a connecting portion 23. In Figure 1, the connecting portion 23 is straight but alternatively the connecting portion 23 is rounded or chamfered. The two branches 21, 22 respectively comprise an orifice 33, 34 allowing the passage of the screw 43 through the branches 21 and 22.
The orifices 33, 34 are coaxial with respect to the axis A. [035] The fixing device 20 also comprises a portion 35 disposed on the branch 21 opposite to the branch 22 carrying the nut 40. The annular part allows The "fastening" means that the annular portion can be elastically deformed when it is engaged inside the opening of the part 48 so as to be able to clip the fastening device into an opening of the part 48. maintain the fastening device 20 on the part 48. [36] The nut 40 comprises a first radial flange 58 and a second radial flange 59 interconnected by an axial cylindrical portion 60. The nut 40 is fixed on the outer face 28 of the branch 22 by means of the first flange 58. The nut 40 has an internal thread 41 corresponding to the thread of the screw 43. [37] Moreover, the system protection device 29 is formed by an envelope 36 and a rupture zone 39. [38] The envelope 36 is fixed on the outer face 28 of the branch 22 carrying the nut 40 by means of a retaining element 37. The casing 36 surrounds the nut 40. By "surround" is meant that the nut 40 or at least one end of the nut 40 is positioned inside a recess delimited by the casing 36. 39] In this case, the casing 36 has a first substantially parallelepipedal portion 57, a second cup-shaped portion 56 connected to one end of the first portion 57 and a flange 54 perpendicular to the axis of the nut. 40 positioned in support against the outer face 28 of one of the branches 22. The retentive element ee 37 comprises an element 52 for axial guidance of the envelope 36 and a frame 53 against which a flange 54 of the envelope 36 bears. In this first embodiment, the rupture zone 39 is disposed on the retaining element 37. Preferably, the rupture zone 39 is situated between the guiding element 52 and the frame 53. [40] anticipated breakage allows the casing 36 to disengage from the branch 22 when the screw 43 exerts a force on the casing 36. Thus, the retaining element 37 can break to leave the casing 36 free with respect to the branch 22 and cover the end of the screw 43 so as to protect the annex piece 50. [41] Preferably, the casing 36 has a protuberance 31 formed in its inner wall. The internal diameter D1 of the casing 36 at the level of the protuberance 31 is smaller than the largest diameter D2 of the nut 40. This protrusion 31 constitutes an alerting means 30 for the operator generating a noise when the casing 36 is detached from the outer face 28 of the branch 22. [42] In this case, the protrusion 31 is formed by an increase in the thickness of the casing 36 in the screwing direction of the screw 43 in the nut 40. [43] Figure 6 shows a second embodiment of the fastening device 20 in which the rupture zone 39 is disposed on the envelope 36. This embodiment is identical to the previous figures apart from the arrangement of the early break. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the connection between the frame 53 and the element 52 for guiding the retaining element 37 is more rigid than that of the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 5. [44] According to this embodiment, the rupture zone 39 is formed by a thinning of material reducing the mechanical characteristics of the envelope 36 at the location of this thinning. Thus, in the case where the screw 43 is too long and the force exerted by the operator on the screw 43 is sufficient, the envelope 36 disengages from the outer fax 28 of the branch 22 by a rupture of the envelope 36 at the level of thinning of material. [045] The use of the fastening device 20 for the assembly of two parts 48, 49 is now described, an adjoining part 50 being positioned behind the nut 40. [46] Positioning the first part 48 inside the space delimited by the two branches 21, 22 of the fixing device 20. The portion 35 of the branch 21 enters the bore 481 of the part 48 to hold the fastener 20 during the fitting of the screw 43. [47] The second piece 49 having a bore 491 positioned against the outer fax 27 of the branch 21 so as to be juxtaposed with the piece 48. In this configuration, the bores 481, 491, the orifices 33, 34 and 'nut are coaxial. [48] The operator introduces the screw 43 into this assembly so that it passes through the bore 491 of the piece 49, the orifice 33 of the branch 21, the bore 481 of the piece 48, the orifice 34 of the branch 22 and then comes into contact with the nut 40. The operator can then screw the screw 43 into the nut 40 to clamp the two parts 48 and 49 together. [49] In the case where the screw 43 is of an appropriate length (see Figure 4), the screw head 44 abuts against a face of the piece 49. [50] In the case where the screw 43 is too much long (see Figure 5 and 6), the screw 43 protrudes from the nut 40 and exerts a force on the casing 36. When the effort exerted by the operator on the screw 43 is sufficient, the casing 36 separates from the outer face 28 of the branch 22 by breaking the retaining element 37 or by breaking the casing 36 at the level of the material thinning. The operator can be informed of the use of a screw 43 which is too long by a variation of the tightening resistance of the screw 43 at the time of the separation of the casing 36 and / or the passage of the protrusion 31 on the flange 59. [51] If the operator continues despite all the tightening of the screw 43, the screw 43 comes into contact with the casing 36 which protects the attachment 50 possible damage to the screw 43. 20 [052] Thus, whatever the embodiment, the invention makes it possible to protect an annex piece 50 disposed behind the nut 40 by means of the envelope 36.
