Abstract

The method involves determining a first pressure (P1) at a moment in a fuel supply pipe of an engine. A second pressure (P2), in the pipe, is determined at another moment subsequently when the first pressure is lower than a reference pressure. The second pressure is determined corresponding to a pressure in the pipe in absence of air bubble and fuel leak. A pressure loss due to leak or bubble is differentiated from a comparison between the pressures. The bubble or the leakage is detected when the second pressure is upper, or lower or equal with the first pressure, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting leakage or bubble of air present in a fuel supply pipe of an internal combustion engine.
