Abstract

The method involves selecting, from among several storage elements (E1, Ej, EN) connected in series, two storage elements across which electric voltages are different. The series connection of the selected storage elements is disconnected, and a parallel electric connection is performed between the disconnected storage elements, where the number of selected storage elements is smaller than the number of storage elements included in a lithium-ion battery, and a portion of non-selected storage elements remains interconnected electrically in series. An independent claim is also included for a device for managing an electric energy storage battery.
