Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection de la direction du soleil, quand il est caché par les nuages, le brouillard ou bien sous l'horizon, au moyen d'un cristal transparent, biréfringent (65) comme la calcite ajusté au point d'isotropie et fonctionnant alors comme un dépolariseur. Un tel dispositif comprend en outre un écran opaque muni d'une ouverture (64), solidaire du cristal tournant, donnant deux images ordinaire et extraordinaire. L'égalité des intensités est repérée par une aiguille de référence (62) également fixée sur la partie tournante d'une platine (61) d'une façon telle à donner directement la direction du soleil.
