Abstract

The staple has hook elements (1) adjustably secured to each other by a mechanical connection having a locking unit for locking the hook elements in translation relative to each other. Each hook element includes an anchoring tab (10) insertable into bone bodies and a bridge branch (11), where each tab is inclined to a plane (P1). The hook elements are joined to each other by a link so as to slide during impaction of the tabs into the bone bodies, where the locking unit produces a compression effect of the bone bodies against each other and a tightening effect of the staple.
