Description
The present invention relates to a drive assembly for a machine for cutting grass, for example lawn mower, tractor, and a machine equipped with such a set. A lawnmower of the state of the art has a motorized chassis, on the one hand, under which is mounted a cutting deck provided with blades that cut the grass and, secondly, at the back of which is mounted a storage basket for receiving cut grass. The grass cut from the cutting deck to the storage basket is transported through one or more transfer hoses. To facilitate the transportation of cut grass through the transfer pipe or pipes, a suction and discharge assembly is provided. This suction and discharge assembly comprises a volute closed by a flange having a suction horn. A set of rotating blades is mounted in the volute. As the blades rotate, the air and grass clippings are sucked from the cutting deck through the suction horn and are forced back to the storage basket through a discharge window formed in the sidewall of the scroll. . When leaves cover the ground, the mower can be used to blow on these leaves to move them. For this purpose, a blowing device that is different from the suction and discharge assembly is attached to the mower. This blowing device is independent of the mower. It must be mounted on the mower when in use and stored when not in use. In addition, the blowing device has a significant cost while blowing does not have the main use of the mower. An object of the present invention is to provide a drive assembly which does not have the drawbacks of the prior art and which in particular makes it possible to switch easily from the discharge function to the blowing function and vice versa. For this purpose, there is provided a drive assembly for a machine comprising a cutting deck and a storage basket, said driving assembly comprising: a housing limiting a suction chamber; a set of blades mounted movably in rotation within the housing about an axis of rotation, said housing having a suction horn coaxial with said axis of rotation and intended to be connected to said cutting deck, and a side wall coaxial with said axis of rotation and having a discharge window intended to be connected to said storage basket, said drive assembly further comprising a blowing window formed in said side wall and a shutter system having a blowing flap movable between a closed position in which it closes said blowing window, and an open position in which it does not close said blowing window and vice versa. Advantageously, the drive assembly comprises a discharge flap provided to move from a free position in which it does not close the discharge window, to a closed position in which it closes the discharge window, and vice versa. . According to a particular embodiment, the drive assembly comprises switching means, the discharge flap and the blower flap are two separate components, and the switching means are provided for moving the discharge flap of the free position. in the closed position, when the blower door passes from the closed position to the blowing position, and vice versa. Advantageously, the discharge flap is rotatably mounted relative to said housing about a discharge axis parallel to said axis of rotation, the switching means take the form of a rod, a first end of which is fixed free to rotate with said flap discharge device around a tilting axis parallel to the discharge axis and offset from it, and whose second end is fixed free to rotate the closure system. Advantageously, the blower flap is rotatably mounted on said housing about a closure axis parallel to said axis of rotation, and said closing axis is upstream of the free portion of the blower door relative to the direction of rotation of the blower. blades. Advantageously, the blower comprises an inner layer sized to fit into said blowing window and an outer layer fixed on the outer face of the inner layer and whose dimensions are greater than those of the blowing window. Advantageously, the drive assembly comprises at least one spacer, a deployment shaft whose axis is parallel to said axis of rotation, and a slideway in which said deployment shaft is free to slide and pivot about its axis, and a first end of said or each spacer is fixed to the free end of said blower flap by a pivot connection around an axis of rotation parallel to said axis of rotation, and whose second end is fixed to said deployment shaft. Advantageously, when it has two spacers, the drive assembly comprises a grid fixed between said spacers. Advantageously, the blower flap has two flanks perpendicular to the axis of rotation, and positioned on either side of said blowing window, each flank being dimensioned so that when the blower flap is in the open position, it is extends between said blower flap and said side wall.
According to another particular embodiment, the discharge flap and the blower flap form a one-piece component. Advantageously, the blowing window is just downstream of the discharge window relative to the direction of rotation of the blades, they are at 90 ° relative to each other, and the discharge flap has a curved shape provided for direct the air towards the blowing window. The invention also provides a machine for cutting grass and comprising: - a cutting plate, - a storage basket, and - a drive assembly according to one of the preceding variants, including the suction horn is connected to the cutting deck, and the discharge window is connected to the storage basket. The characteristics of the invention mentioned above, as well as others, will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, said description being made in connection with the attached drawings, among which: FIG. . 1 shows a mower equipped with a drive assembly according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows the drive assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention in the discharge position, FIG. 3 shows the drive assembly of FIG. 2 in the blowing position, FIG. 4 is an enlargement of the drive assembly of FIG. 2 in the blowing position, FIG. 5 is a sectional view of FIG. 4 along line V-V, FIG. 6 shows the drive assembly according to a second embodiment of the invention in the discharge position and in section, and FIG. 7 shows the drive assembly of FIG. 6 in the blowing position. Fig. 1 shows a mower 100 comprising a frame 102 under which is mounted a cutting deck 104 and a storage basket 106. The transfer of the cut grass between the cutting deck 104 and the storage basket 106 is performed by means of a suction pipe 108, a discharge pipe 110 and a drive assembly 150. The drive assembly 150 is in the form of a volute 152 closed by a flange 154 having a suction horn 156. The volute 152 and the flange 154 form a housing which limits a suction chamber. The suction horn 156 is in the form of a cylindrical chimney which is connected to the cutting deck 104 by the suction pipe 108. The volute 152 is in the form of a substantially cylindrical bowl whose side wall has a discharge window 158 which is connected to the storage basket 106 by the discharge pipe 110. Inside the volute 152 are disposed blades which are rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation 50 which is coaxial with the axis of the suction horn 156 and which are rotated by a drive means 20 such as a motor. Thus the cut grass at the cutting deck 104 is first sucked by the moving blades through the suction pipe 108 and the suction horn 156, and then pushed back to the storage basket 106 through the discharge window 158 and the discharge pipe 110. FIG. 2 shows the drive assembly 150 in a discharge position in which air sucked through the suction horn 156 is forced (arrow 210) through the discharge window 158, and FIG. 3 shows the drive assembly 150 in a blowing position in which the air sucked through the suction horn 156 is blown (arrow 310) through a blowing window which is described below and which allows blowing the air outward and in particular in a direction suitable for blowing. In Figs. 2 and 3, the blades are shown in dashed lines and have the reference 202. The direction of rotation of the blades 202 in the volute 152 is represented by the arrow 204.
Fig. 4 shows an enlargement, around the blowing window 400, of the drive assembly 150 in the blowing position and which is seen in section through a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation 50. FIG. 5 is a sectional view of the enlargement of FIG. 4.
The blowing window 400 is formed in the side wall of the volute 152 which is coaxial with the axis of rotation 50. The drive assembly 150 also has a closure system 180 which has a movable blower flap 182 between a closed position (Fig. 2) in which it closes the blowing window 400, and an open position (Figs 3-5) in which it does not close the blowing window 400 and vice versa. The shutter system 180 has a locking means which is provided to lock the blower flap 182 in the closed position. In the closed position, the blower flap 182 closes the blowing window 400 and thus the drive assembly 150 is in the discharge position.
In the open position, the blower flap 182 does not close the blowing window 400 and thus the drive assembly 150 is in the blowing position. The blower flap 182 opens outwardly of the volute 152 and does not penetrate inside the suction chamber to avoid contact with the blades 202. The transition from the discharge position to the position of blowing is easy and does not require additional machines. The blower flap 182 is in the form of a bilayer element which comprises an inner layer 404 sized to fit into the blowing window 400 in order to seal it and an outer layer 406 fixed on the outer face of the layer. 404 and whose dimensions are greater than those of the blowing window 400 and which is intended to be pressed against the side wall of the volute 152 to limit air leakage when the blower flap 182 is in the closed position. The dimensions of the inner layer 404 are substantially equal to the dimensions of the blast window 400. Each layer 404, 406 has an arcuate profile adapted to the arcuate profile of the side wall of the volute 152. The blast flap 182 is mounted movably in rotation on the volute 152 about a closure axis 408 parallel to the axis of rotation 50.
To facilitate the exit of the blown air 310 from the volute 152, the closure axis 408 is upstream of the free portion of the blast flap 182, relative to the direction of rotation 204 of the blades 202. To limit the opening of the blast flap 182 and allow the blown air flow 310 to be guided by the blast shutter 182 when it is in the open position, the shut-off system 180 has at least one spacer 410, here two in number and arranged on one side and the other of the blowing window 400. A first end of each spacer 410 is fixed to the free end of the blower flap 182 by a pivot connection about an axis of rotation 416b, called the junction axis 416b. , parallel to the axis of rotation 50, and which is achieved here by a connecting shaft 416 connecting the first end and the blower flap 182. A second end of each spacer 410 is attached to a deployment shaft 412 having an axis , called deployment axis 412b, parallel to the axis of rotation 50, and which is itself free to slide in a slide 414 of the volute 152 and to pivot about the deployment axis 412b. The slide 414 has an oblong profile in which the deployment shaft 412 moves. In the embodiment of the invention presented here, the locking means takes the form of a tongue 402 which is attached to the deployment 412 and which cooperates with complementary means of the volute 152. The passage from the closed position to the open position is effected by unlocking the locking means 402, sliding the deployment shaft 412 in the slide 414, this which causes the blast flap 182 to disengage from the wall of the volute 152 and the opening of the blast window 400. The passage from the open position to the closed position is effected by sliding the deployment shaft 412 in the slideway 414, which leads to the gluing of the blower flap 182 against the wall of the volute 152 and the closing of the blowing window 400, then by locking the locking means 402. For amé To improve the guiding of the blown airflow 310, the blast flap 182 has two sidewalls 190 perpendicular to the axis of rotation 50. The flanks 190 are positioned on either side of the blowing window 400, and more particularly outside the volute 152 and the flange 154, that is to say the housing 152, 154. Each side 190 here takes substantially a triangular shape and is dimensioned so that when the blower flap 182 is in open position, it extends between said blower flap 182 and the side wall of the volute 152 Thus the blown air 310 through the blowing window 400 is channeled by the two sides 190 and the blower flap 182. The assembly drive 150 has a discharge flap 160 which is separate from the blower flap 182 and which is provided to pass from a free position in which it does not close the discharge window 158, to a closed position in which it closes the window of r flow 158, and vice versa. Thus, it is possible to choose by which window the air will be expelled. To link the position of the discharge shutter 160 to the position of the blower flap 182, the drive assembly 150 comprises switching means 162 provided for moving the discharge flap 160 from the free position to the shut-off position, when the blower flap 182 moves from the closed position to the blowing position, and vice versa. Thus the displacement of the blast flap 182 controls the displacement of the discharge flap 160 and according to the chosen position, all the air is blown by one or the other of the windows 158, 400 without there being any loss to through the other window 400, 158. In the embodiment of the invention presented here, the discharge flap 160 is rotatably mounted relative to the volute 152 about a discharge axis 164 parallel to the axis of rotation. rotation 50, and the switching means 162 take the form of a rod 162.
The first end of the rod 162 is fixed free to rotate the discharge flap 160 about a pivot axis 166 parallel to the discharge axis 164 and offset with respect thereto. The second end of the rod 162 is fixed free to rotate to the shutter system 180, and more particularly to the deployment shaft 412, around the deployment axis 412b. In order to prevent large debris from being propelled by the flow of blown air 310, with the risk of injuring someone or damaging a surrounding object, a perforated grid is fixed between the spacers 410. FIG. 6 shows a drive unit 650 according to another embodiment of the invention. The elements common with the first embodiment of the invention bear the same references. The drive assembly 650 comprises: - a housing of which only the volute 152 is shown and which limits a suction chamber, and - a set of blades 202 rotatably mounted inside the housing about an axis The housing has a suction horn 156 intended to be connected to said cutting deck 104, and a side wall coaxial with the axis of rotation 50 and having a discharge window 158 intended to be connected to the storage basket. storage 106. As before, the drive assembly 650 comprises a blowing window 700 made in the side wall and a shutter system 680 having a blower flap 682 movable between a closed position (Fig. 6) in which it closes the blowing window 700, and an open position (FIG 7) in which it does not close the blowing window 700 and vice versa. In the embodiment of the invention presented herein, the blowing window 700 opens into a discharge line 702 which directs the air outward and in a direction suitable for blowing. The discharge window 158 and the blowing window 700 are arranged next to each other so that the blower flap 682 and the discharge flap 660 constitute a one-piece component. The blower / discharge duct 660, 682 is thus provided to move from a free position in which it does not close the discharge window 158, to a closed position in which it closes the discharge window 158, same time that it moves from the closed position to the open position and vice versa. The blower / discharge flap 660, 682 is here movable in translation and is driven by means of a handle 702 accessible from outside the housing and guided by a slide system 704. The slide system 704 is here constituted by two parallel grooves 706 between which is placed the handle 702, and in which slides a slide 708 integral with the handle 702 and which is cylindrical here. The displacement in translation is limited by the abutment of the blower flap 682 against the wall of the volute 152 on one side and the abutment of the discharge flap 660 against the edges of the blowing window 700.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the blowing window 700 is just downstream of the discharge window 158 relative to the direction of rotation of the blades 202 and they are at 90 ° relative to each other. The discharge flap 660 has a curved shape for directing the air towards the blowing window 700.
Of course, the present invention is not limited to the examples and embodiments described and shown, but it is capable of many variants accessible to those skilled in the art. The invention has been more particularly described in the case of a mower, but it applies in the same way to all devices for cutting grass, such as a quad, tractor, etc.. comprising a cutting deck and a storage basket. For example, the invention has been more particularly described in the case of a left-handed volute, but it applies in the same way in the case of a volute output right.
For example, the displacement of the blower / discharge flap 660, 682 of the second embodiment of the invention has been described as a translation but another movement, such as rotation, is also possible.
