Abstract

The device (24) has a set of contact inlets (20, 22) that is intended to be connected to a sensor (6) for measuring velocity of a wheel of a vehicle. The sensor is intended to cooperate with a magnetic track of a bearing. An electrical and/or electronic unit is utilized for processing the signal of the sensor. The electrical and/or electronic unit is utilized for detecting presence of the magnetic track facing the sensor on the basis of the signal and for outputting a signal indicating presence of absence of the magnetic track. An independent claim is also included for a method for checking assembly operations of a train.
