Connection system (1) for attaching a carrier device to a hitch (2) having a terminal coupling part comprising a ball (3) and a neck (4), the system (1) comprising an internal cavity (10) open at least at an open end (23) and able to accept the ball (3) of the terminal part, characterized in that the cavity (10) comprises an insertion portion (12), at the free end of which the open end (23) is arranged, and an attachment portion each able to accept the ball (3), and in that the attachment portion (32) comprises a stop surface (29) configured to adopt alternately, by means of rotation of said cavity (10), an inactive position in which the stop surface (29) can be kept away from the terminal coupling part (3, 4) and an active position in which the stop surface (29) can be applied against the terminal coupling part (3, 4).
