Abstract
The device (10) has a nozzle (24) arranged immediate proximity to a part (P) to be machined and comprising a body (26) provided with an opening (28). An ultrasound transducer (22) is placed in the body for transmitting ultrasound beam, so that the beam passes across the opening. The nozzle delivers coupling fluid i.e. cutting fluid, so as to assure coupling between the transducer and the part. The nozzle includes a containment skirt integral with the body of the nozzle. The skirt is peripheral to the transducer and coaxial to the opening, where the skirt is made of elastomer. An independent claim is also included for a system for measuring thickness of a part.
