Abstract

The invention relates to an exhibition window (1) comprising an enclosure (10) for the presentation of products each equipped with an RFID chip. Said showcase (1) is equipped with an RFID reader. Said showcase also comprises means for producing an inventory of the products present in the enclosure (10). Said inventory realization means are connected to said RFID reader to carry out said inventory from the identification data of the RFID chips likely to be received by the RFID reader. According to the invention, said window (1) is equipped with at least one door (11, 12) transparent or translucent and provided with a transparent or translucent screen configured to prevent communication between the RFID reader and the RFID chip a product located outside the enclosure (10), for example in front of the door or doors (11, 12), in the closed position of the door or doors.

Description

The present invention generally relates to display cases for products, such as food products.

The invention more particularly relates to an exhibition window comprising an enclosure for the presentation of products, such as food products, each equipped with a radio wave identification system, called RFID chip. Said showcase is equipped with an electronic and computer processing system which comprises means of communication, called RFID reader, able to communicate by radio waves with RFID chips products to be presented in the enclosure. Said RFID reader comprises at least one, preferably several, antenna (s) located (s) inside the enclosure. Said electronic and computer processing system also comprises means for producing an inventory of the products present in the enclosure. Said inventory realization means are connected to said RFID reader to carry out said inventory from the identification data of the RFID chips likely to be received by the RFID reader.

From the state of the art, vitrines are known as described above. Such windows are equipped with an RFID reader and are intended to store products equipped with RFID chips. The RFID reader communicates with the RFID chips of the products to know information about these products present in the showcase enclosure, such as identification data and expiration dates.

Such showcases make it possible to make a rapid inventory of the products remaining in the enclosure by counting the products for which the RFID reader no longer receives information from the corresponding RFID chips. Indeed, the RFID readers, according to the characteristics associated with their antennas and according to the characteristics of the RFID chips with which they communicate, have a limited range, so that a person who takes a product and moves away from the showcase out of the field of the RFID reader, triggers, when an inventory of the remaining products in the showcase is made, a count of said product whose RFID chip no longer communicates with the RFID reader.

However, it has been found that when a person removes the packaging of the product equipped with the RFID chip and leaves the package outside the window but close to this window, for example on the top of the window or on the floor at the foot of the window, the RFID chip stuck on the packaging remains in the detection field of the RFID reader. The product is therefore not counted during the inventory.

Therefore, until now, the windows of the state of the art are devoid of a transaction system, the windows of the state of the art do not allow to benefit from a reliable collection of the corresponding amount 15 the product (s) removed from the showcase.

Indeed, to remove one or more products from the showcase, the user enters into the transaction system an item such as a transaction card, then, possibly, after typing a code to unlock the door of the showcase, the user removes from the showcase one or more products. The means of making inventory are then supposed, in cooperation with the RFID reader of the showcase, to make an inventory of the remaining products to count the products removed from the showcase. However, the user remains close to the showcase with the products in hand. There is thus a great likelihood that the removed products will remain in the RFID reader's detection field and that the withdrawn products will not be counted during the inventory. The user can then withdraw his transaction card and leave with the withdrawn products without these being paid.

An object of the present invention is to provide a product presentation showcase for making an inventory of the remaining products in the showcase reliably without harming the user to the visibility of the products in said enclosure.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a presentation window of the aforementioned type capable of being equipped with a transaction system 5 without harming the quality of the inventory made.

The RFID reader of the showcase makes it possible to detect the movements of introduction or sampling in the showcase of products equipped with RFID chips.
