Abstract
The method involves deducing elementary constraints subjected to one of components of a driving belt for solicitation at which the driving belt is subjected (11), where the components are formed of a flexible band, reinforcement, wiring and notching bodies. An individual damage state (12) of each component is deduced (11) resulting from the deduced elementary constraints and mechanical and physio-chemical resistances for the component. A damage progressive state (16) of the driving belt is deduced (15) by individuals for the component of the deduced individual damage states successively. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for implementing a method for determining damage of a driving belt (2) an engine unit comprising a driving belt.
