Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a motor vehicle cushioning and a padding obtained by such a method.
It is known to implement a method of producing a motor vehicle cushioning, said cushioning comprising a coating complex and an elastically compressible foam padding block, said complex comprising a lower foam sealing layer overmolded by said block, said sealing layer comprising a passenger ventilation port, said block comprising a ventilation duct leading to said orifice, said method comprising the following steps: • providing a mold comprising a tank and a lid defining a molding space said padding, said cover comprising a molding pad of said pipe, • arranging said complex in said tank, • closing said lid so that the free end of said pad bears on the periphery of said orifice by sealing said orifice relative to to the foam, • inject a precursor mixture of foam being elastically compressible in said molding space; after expansion of the foam, demolding the padding obtained.
Such an embodiment may have various drawbacks: in the case of a complex with a thickness less than its nominal thickness, there is a risk of foam leakage in the orifice since the free end of the stud imperfectly bears on the periphery of the orifice, • in the case of a complex of thickness greater than its nominal thickness, there is a risk of lack of appearance of the padding which may have a boss in line with the orifice, this in the extent to which the stud over-compresses the complex at the orifice, the complex creating a localized boss when it is no longer under stress in the mold, • in the case where the stud is a little offset radially ù with reference to the pad ù with respect to the orifice, there is a risk of foam leakage in the orifice since the free end of the stud may not be supported on the entire periphery of the orifice. The invention aims to overcome these disadvantages.
For this purpose, and according to a first aspect, the invention provides a method for producing a motor vehicle cushioning, said cushioning comprising a coating complex and an elastically compressible foam padding block, said complex comprising a lower layer foam sealant overmolded by said block, said sealing layer comprising a passenger ventilation port, said block comprising a ventilation duct leading to said orifice, said method comprising the following steps: • providing a mold comprising a tub and a lid defining a molding space of said padding, said lid comprising a molding pad of said duct, • providing a sealing washer of elastically compressible material, said washer having a hole of section similar to that of the end free of said pad and a peripheral envelope encompassing that of said orifice • pushing said washer onto said end, said washer projecting axially with reference to the axis of the stud beyond said end, arranging said complex in said tank, closing said lid so that said washer bears on the periphery of said orifice by creating a seal of said orifice relative to the foam, • injecting a precursor mixture of elastically compressible foam 30 in said molding space, • after expansion of the foam, demolding the padding obtained.5 The use of a sealing washer according to the above-mentioned methods makes it possible to solve the disadvantages of the state of the art: • in the case of a complex of thickness less than its nominal thickness, the washer projecting axially beyond the first end the pad fills the space between said stud and the ventilation opening, which creates foam-tightness, • in the case of u n complex thickness greater than its nominal thickness, the washer is compressed instead of the complex, this insofar as the lift of the washer is less than that of the complex, as will be described later, which avoids the boss risk created by release of the stress on said complex as observed in the prior art, • in the case where the pad is slightly offset radially from the orifice, the washer, having a peripheral envelope including that of the orifice, fills the space which could appear between the stud and the orifice and makes sealing with the foam.
According to a second aspect, the invention proposes a padding obtained by such a method.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the description which follows, with reference to the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic representation in partial section and in perspective of a padding according to a first embodiment, showing furthermore, a perspective washer; FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic representation in partial section and in perspective of a cushioning according to a second embodiment, further showing a plurality of perspective washers interconnected to form a plate; FIG. 3 is a diagrammatic view in partial section of the padding of FIG. 1 in position in the mold before demolding, in the case of a complex of thickness less than its nominal thickness (FIG. 43a), of a complex of thickness greater than its nominal thickness (Figure 3b) and wherein the pad is offset radially relative to the orifice (Figure 3c).
Referring to the figures, there is described a method of producing a padding 1 of a motor vehicle, said padding comprising a coating complex 2 and a pad 3 of resiliently compressible foam padding, said complex comprising a lower sealing layer 4 to the foam overmoulded by said block, said sealing layer comprising a ventilation orifice 5 of the passenger, said block comprising a ventilation duct 6 opening on said orifice, said method comprising the following steps: • providing a mold comprising a tank and a cover defining a molding space of said padding, said cover comprising a pad 7 for molding said pipe, • providing a sealing washer 8 of elastically compressible material, said washer having a hole 9 of section similar to that of the end free of said pad and a peripheral envelope including that of said orifice, pressing said washer onto said end, said washer protruding axially beyond said end, • disposing said complex in said tank, • closing said lid so that said washer bears on the periphery of said orifice by sealing said orifice with respect to to the foam, • injecting a precursor mixture of elastically compressible foam into said molding space, • after expansion of the foam, demolding the padding 1 obtained.
According to one embodiment, the washer 8 has a lower lift than the complex 2, this allowing, in the case of a complex 2 of thickness greater than its nominal thickness, as shown in Figure 3b, a crushing of the washer 8 instead of a crash of the complex 2, which eliminates the phenomenon of localized boss.
According to the embodiment shown, the periphery of the hole 9 includes that of the orifice 5 5, which makes it possible to avoid a partial obstruction of said orifice by the washer 8 in the case where the stud 7 is a little offset from the orifice 5, as shown in FIG. 3c.
In one embodiment, the washer 8 is based on foam. According to the embodiment shown, the stud 7 has a bearing bearing 13 limiting the depression of the washer 8 on the free end 10.
According to the embodiment shown, the stud 7 has a frustoconical geometry tapered towards its free end 10, which facilitates demolding.
The bearing 13 is in the shape of a circular ring, on which the washer 8 comes to rest.
In the case where the method applies to the production of a padding 1 whose sealing layer 4 comprises a plurality of ventilation orifices 5, the block 3 comprising a plurality of ventilation ducts 6 each opening on a of said orifices, said method can use, as represented in FIG. 2, a plurality of washers 8 interconnected by a bridge of material, said washers being here obtained from a plate 14 made of elastically compressible material provided with a plurality of of holes 9.
