Abstract

The cover (4) has an external face (40) directed towards exterior of a vehicle, and an internal face (41) directed towards a passenger compartment of the vehicle. Fixation units cooperate with complementary fixation units that are arranged in a goose neck shaped closing part. The fixation units compensate imperfect positioning of the cover in a space of the complementary fixation units relative to the fixation units. The fixation units are arranged in the internal face, and provided with a circular opening (5) and an oblong slot (6).

Description

COVER ASSEMBLY DEVICE FOR A FUEL TRAP OF A VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a lid and a plug-shaped obturating part for a fuel filler of a vehicle. A fuel filler of a vehicle conventionally comprises a housing that is housed in an opening stamped in the sheet metal of the vehicle body, a gooseneck-shaped shutter part consisting of a bent piece fixed to the housing, and allowing the opening and / or closing of the fuel filler, and a cover coming to be affixed to the shutter piece shaped gooseneck to cover it. The step of assembling the lid on the gooseneck-shaped obturating part is ensured by means of fixing the cover cooperating with complementary fixing means of the gooseneck-shaped obturating part. However, during this assembly step, the positioning of the lid on the gooseneck-shaped obturating part can be problematic insofar as the possible defects in the production of the shutter piece in the form of Goosenecks generally result in imperfect positioning in the space of the complementary fastening means relative to the fastening means. This imperfect positioning can then lead to a large mechanical clearance between the fastening means and the complementary fastening means as well as to an outcropping of the shutter piece in the shape of a gooseneck due to an incomplete covering of the cover, which is unsatisfactory. an ornamental point of view. It is known to correct these possible manufacturing defects by modifying the injection molds of the gooseneck-shaped closure part and the cover. The price of an injection mold makes this solution extremely expensive, unprofitable in the case for example of a small series production. Moreover this solution is not durable because any modification of the shutter piece in the shape of a swan leads to a modification of the lid, and vice versa. Thus, any modification requires the modification of the injection molds of both the gooseneck-shaped closure piece and the lid.

The present invention aims to remedy all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks and consists for this purpose in a cover of a fuel door of a vehicle having an outer face intended to be oriented towards the outside of the vehicle, a face internal intended to be oriented towards the passenger compartment of the vehicle, fastening means provided on the inner face and intended to cooperate with complementary fastening means formed in a shutter-shaped piece of gooseneck; and characterized in that said fixing means are shaped to compensate for the imperfect positioning in space of the complementary fastening means relative to said fastening means. According to one embodiment of the invention, said fastening means have at least one substantially circular orifice and at least one slot. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the slot is oblong. In one embodiment of the invention, said fixing means are formed in a plate integral with the inner face. Advantageously, the cover according to the present invention further comprises stop members arranged at the periphery of the plate. The present invention also relates to a shutter-shaped obturating part of a vehicle fuel flap adapted to cooperate with a lid according to the invention, and having complementary fastening means arranged to be fixed by snap respectively in the substantially circular hole and in the slot of the inner face of the lid. The present invention also relates to a device 25 for closing a fuel filler door comprising a lid according to the invention, a gooseneck-shaped obturating part according to the invention; the complementary fastening means of the gooseneck-shaped shutter piece being snap-fastened respectively in the substantially circular orifice and in the slot of the inner face of the cover. Thus, in this example, the device according to the present invention makes it possible to compensate the dimensional tolerances of the complementary fixing means of the gooseneck-shaped closure piece by the length of the slot. On the other hand, in addition to the function of assembling the cover on the gooseneck-shaped obturating part, the cooperation of the fastening means with the complementary fastening means also allows the guiding and the setting in precise position of the lid on the shutter piece shaped gooseneck. In addition, the abutment members present at the periphery provide plane support of the complementary fastening means of the gooseneck-shaped closure piece on the means for fixing the cover. Finally, the structural evolutions of the gooseneck-shaped obturating part will be treated by the displacement of the position of the punches which respectively create the substantially circular orifice and the slot. Thus, deep modifications of the lid injection mold will be avoided, making the device durable. The present invention further relates to a fuel filler of a vehicle equipped with a device according to the invention. The present invention finally relates to a vehicle equipped with a fuel trap according to the invention.

Other features of the present invention will appear on reading the following detailed description of an example of non-limiting implementation, with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a housing, a gooseneck-shaped shutter and a lid constituting a conventional fuel door of a vehicle; Figure 2 is a front view of the inner face of a lid according to the invention; Figure 3 is a top view of the cover shown in Figure 2; FIG. 4 is an enlarged schematic view from above of the complementary fastening means of a gooseneck-shaped obturating piece according to the invention, in the rest position. FIG. 1 illustrates a conventional fuel filler flap 1 of a vehicle comprising a housing 2 in which a gooseneck-shaped closure piece 3 is fixed. The housing 2 is housed in a recessed opening in the housing. the body of the vehicle body, not shown in Figure 1. The shutter-shaped gooseneck part 3 allows the opening and / or closing of the hatch 1. In addition, a lid 4 is affixed to the obturating piece in the shape of gooseneck 3 to cover it so that the outer face 40 of the cover 4 is oriented towards the outside of the vehicle. The outer face 40 thus constitutes an aesthetic element of the hatch 1. The lid 4 according to the invention shown in FIG. 2 has an inner face 41 comprising fastening means which are respectively manifested by a substantially circular orifice 5 and by a slot 6 oblong centered along the axis II, the slot 6 being elongated in the direction of the axis II. The cover 4 also comprises four stop members 7, formed near the periphery of the inner face 41.

FIG. 3 also shows two enlargement zones 8, respectively of the orifice 5 and of the slot 6. The fastening means fitted to the cover 4 may be integral with the cover 4 itself, or it may be formed in a plate 42 made integral with the cover 4, for example by welding, as shown in FIG. 3. The gooseneck-shaped obturating part 3 according to the invention is equipped with complementary fastening means, schematized at the end of FIG. 4 in the rest position, intended to cooperate with the cover fixing means 4. The complementary fastening means comprise two studs 9 extending respectively along the axis II-II and III-III. Each stud 9 comprises two resilient snap tabs 10, each comprising an inclined flange terminating in a lug 11. The direction of the axes II-II and III-III defines the rest position of the elastic tabs 10. The working position is as for it defined when the elastic tabs 10 undergo mechanical stresses due to the positioning of the lid 4 on the gooseneck-shaped shutter piece 3. In addition, on each stud 9, the two elastic tabs 10 are separated by a cavity 12. In the working position, the elastic tabs 10 converge in the cavity 12 so that the lugs 11 can bend in position and project respectively into the orifice 5 and into the slot 6 of the inner face 41 of the cover 4. The definitive latching position is obtained when the elastic tabs 10 return to their initial rest position, with the lugs 11 retained against the walls of the enlargement zones 8.

In this respect, in order to make snapping possible, the maximum sum of the widths of the elastic tabs 10 and of the cavity 12 must be greater than the diameter of the orifice 5 and the width of the slot 6. Thus, a device comprising a cover 4 according to the invention as shown in FIG. 2 or FIG. 3, and a gooseneck-shaped obturating part 3 according to the invention as represented in FIG. 4, makes it possible to compensate, by the length of the slot 6, the dimensional tolerances along the axis II of the complementary fastening means of the goose-shaped closure piece 3.

On the other hand, the positioning of the cover 4 on the gooseneck-shaped obturating part 3 during the assembly of the two elements is made more precise by the guidance along the directions defined respectively by the axes II, IV-IV and VV, resulting from the cooperation of the orifice 5 and the slot 6 with the complementary fastening means of the gooseneck-shaped plug piece 3. Finally, the stop members 7 allow a flat support in the direction of the axis II-II complementary fastening means on the inner face 41 of the cover 4. Of course, the exemplary embodiment mentioned above is not limiting in nature, and other details and improvements may be to be provided to the device according to the invention without departing from the scope of the invention where other forms of the device can be realized.

Claims (9)

  1. REVENDICATIONS1. Lid (4) of a hatch (1) for fuel of a vehicle 5 comprising: • an outer face (40) intended to be oriented towards the outside of the vehicle; An internal face (41) intended to be oriented towards the passenger compartment of the vehicle; Fastening means fitted to the inner face (41) and designed to cooperate with complementary fastening means formed in a gooseneck-shaped closure piece (3) and characterized in that said fastening means are shaped to compensate for the imperfect positioning in the space of the complementary fastening means relative to said fastening means.
  2. 2. Cover (4) according to claim 1, wherein said fixing means have at least one orifice (5) substantially circular (5) and at least one slot (6).

Goose trap-shaped obturating part (3) for a vehicle fuel door (1) intended to cooperate with a cover (4) according to any one of claims 2 to 5, and having complementary fixing means (9, 10, 11, 12) arranged to be fastened by means of a respective snap in the substantially circular orifice (5) and in the slot (6) of the internal face (41) of the lid (4).
  7. 7. Device for closing a hatch (1) with fuel comprising: • a cover (4) according to any one of claims 2 to 5 • a shutter-shaped gooseneck (3) according to claim 6.
