Description

1 1

The present invention relates to a suction nozzle adapted to the field of odontology and oral care. Such a tip fits on the free end of a saliva pump to be connected to the suction device fitted to a dental chair. Dentists traditionally use in the mouth, in addition to the actual working instrument (turbine, manual instrument, ultrasonic insert ...) a mirror whose function is to remove the soft tissues so as to allow them to have a satisfactory vision of the working area and a saliva pump whose function is to eliminate the fluids and debris generated by the working instrument. Typically, the end of the saliva pumps carries a filter tip equipped with openings with angular edges of relatively large size which allow the suction of fluids and various debris from the milling work, descaling ... Gold , the presence of such a tip night significantly the con-fort of the patient insofar as it can cause small injuries by friction or suction of the mucous membrane of the floor of the mouth, especially at the level of the salivary gland, behind the mandibular incisors. The object of the present invention is to propose a suction nozzle of the above-mentioned type which makes it possible to remedy these drawbacks. According to the invention, such a nozzle is characterized in that it consists of a tubular cap having on the one hand an in-dull diameter corresponding to the external diameter of the saliva pump at one of its ends or first end so as to allow it to fit on the latter, and secondly closed at its other end or second end by a rounded partition pierced with a series of small holes uniformly distributed over its surface and delimiting a suction chamber at its inner part. This rounded partition allows to remove all the angular parts of the tip and thus to exclude any risk of discomfort or injury to the patient by friction.

2 In addition, small holes that are too thin to suck the mucous membrane of the floor of the patient's mouth can evenly distribute the suction which is more diffuse, without focusing on a small surface quickly dry, so irritated. 2

The suction tip which is the subject of the invention is preferably made of a plastic material and is generally for single use. It ensures the comfort of the patient to the extent that the suction is effected by leaving him a pleasant sensation in the mouth throughout the work that can be uninterrupted. In addition, such a suction tip that allows the dentist to work continuously saves time while improving his working comfort. The characteristics of the suction nozzle which is the subject of the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying non-limiting drawings in which: FIG. 1 represents a suction nozzle according to the prior art attached to the end of a saliva pump, FIG. 2 shows a suction nozzle according to the invention mounted also at the end of a saliva pump, FIG. suction according to the invention before mounting on the saliva pump. According to FIG. 1, the suction nozzle according to the prior art is constituted by a tubular element A equipped at its front end with a series of elongate openings B surrounding a central orifice C. According to FIG. 2, the suction nozzle 1 according to the invention is constituted by a tubular cap fitted on the free end of a saliva pump 2 and closed at its front end by a rounded wall 3 pierced with a series small holes 4 evenly distributed on its surface. The suction end 1 thus has at its front end a configuration similar to that of a strainer for distributing the suction. The rounded partition 3 defines at the front end of the suction nozzle 1, downstream of the free end 6 of the saliva pump 2 (FIG. 3), a suction chamber 5 for the fluids and debris generated by the work of the practitioner. According to FIG. 3, the suction tip 1 has at its rear end 7 an internal diameter corresponding to the ex-dull diameter of the saliva pump 2 at its free end so as to allow it to fit on the in the working position shown in FIG. 2.
