Abstract
According to the invention, the two wind turbines (1) and (2) are fixed facing the wind, positioned in "V", on a weighted floating structure (3) of the "floating floating" type, provided with a floating system ( 15) and a ballast (4) providing good stability in the swell. The structure pivots on itself around a fixed shaft (17) located above the water, in order to permanently orient its upper part facing the wind, even in the presence of waves and waves, creating an asymmetry thrust at the two rotors. The wind turbines are of the type "two-blade oscillating hubs" offering a better response to dynamic stresses imposed by the effect of waves and waves on the structures. It is possible according to the invention to produce more electrical power for a given area of operation, and therefore to obtain better economic performance. This birotor aerogenerator, assembled dry on a simple platform, can be launched and then towed horizontally on simple floats. Its implementation and operation using anchor lines (14) stretched from the surface by a system of guides and winches, are particularly simplified compared to other types of offshore wind turbines, without requiring the use a transport barge or a handling crane.
Description
-1- DESCRIPTION DE L'INVENTION Domaine technique de l'invention DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Technical Field of the Invention
The invention relates to the construction of wind power plants, intended to be exploited at sea, where the wind is on average stronger and more regular, and where the neighborhood constraints are the least penalizing.
Solutions of offshore wind turbines fixed on ground foundations already exist and allow exploitation up to about 50m deep.
15 Given the geographical characteristics of the countries (including France) whose coasts rapidly have depths of more than 50m, it is advisable to have floating wind turbines.
Several types of floating wind turbines are currently under study or in development: Type Floating Barge: 25 The wind turbine is fixed on a platform similar to a flat-bottomed boat, resulting in a floatation volume essentially at the surface. The set is anchored to the seabed by flexible anchors.
The disadvantage of this type of architecture is a high sensitivity to waves and waves, inducing significant dynamic forces on wind farms, incompatible with their functions.
Type Semi-submersible Float: The wind turbine is installed on a float designed to minimize sensitivity to waves. Indeed, a large part of the floating body is located under water.
The disadvantage of this type of architecture is to require a large mass of materials to obtain a good stability of the assembly, which generates a production cost hardly compatible with its function.
Type TLP (Tension Leg Platform) ou SPAR : Type TLP (Leg Platform Tension) or SPAR:
45 The wind turbine is located on a floating structure maintained by means of one or more cables stretched and anchored in the seabed.
The interest is to place most of the floating part under the waves, hence a better stability in the swell. The disadvantage relates to the fact that the cost corresponding to the structure and the anchors is important and hardly compatible with its function.
The invention of Torr Todman (UK) describes a T-type birotor architecture, while the architecture described in my patent application is a V-shaped birotor architecture. The inventions of MM. Heronemus (US), Sieg (DK), and Buitendijk (NL) describe different structures of floating wind turbines with a float and a ballast, but none of these documents refer to the association of a structure provided with of a flotation system and ballast, with a V-shaped rotor (with 60 two wind rotors) facing the wind around the central axis by means of a rotating coupling system at the base of V. 35 50 -2-
The patent filed by MM. Alexandroff (FR) has a V architecture, but with a wind turbine and the other wind leeward.
Exposé de l'invention Presentation of the invention
The invention relates to a particular architecture of floating wind turbine to improve the technologies known to date. The improvements concern particularly the general architecture of the whole, as well as the combination of particular devices.
20 L'invention présente l'avantage remarquable suivant : According to one characteristic of the invention, the general architecture is composed of a V-shaped aeratorator 15 birotor placed on a floating structure of the floating Floating type provided with a flotation system and a ballast. The structure pivots on itself around a fixed shaft located above the water, in order to orient its upper part facing the wind. The interest of the birotor is to pool the structural elements and anchoring, particularly expensive, and therefore to obtain a lower cost of production compared to a single rotor solution. The invention has the following remarkable advantage:
A taut floating structure provided with a floatation system and ballast has the advantage of being more economical than a multi-float structure (less steel used), but it also has the major disadvantage. to be unstable (high sensitivity to waves and waves).
• Associating this floating floating structure with a V-shaped birotor structure, naturally oriented, in order to capture the maximum wind, around the central axis using a rotary coupling system close to the surface of the water, allows the whole to acquire a better dynamic behavior and a better response to the constraints imposed simultaneously by the variations of direction of the wind and by the movements induced by the waves and the swell, by decreasing the aerodynamic / hydrodynamic interaction of the whole. The fact that the rotary coupling system is close to the surface of the water (at the base of the V) ensures a better stability to the assembly, by reducing the mechanical torques induced by the dynamic stresses imposed by the waves and the swell on the structures and on the rotary coupling system.
This invention thus has the remarkable advantage of building at a lower cost a floating wind system naturally oriented and permanently in the wind even in the presence of waves and waves, thus producing more average electrical power. It is thus possible according to the invention to produce more average electrical power for a given operating area, with lower cost structures. Another interest of the birotor is to be able to densify the production of energy, the rotors normally having to be 3 to 5 times their diameter apart in order to avoid the aerodynamic disturbances 45 emitted downstream of a rotor. It is thus possible according to the invention to produce more electrical power for a given operating area, and therefore to obtain better economic performance. Each of the rotors is placed facing the wind, the torque induced by their mass reversal torque to counter the torque generated by the thrust of the wind on the rotors, which advantageously reduces the size of the ballast. According to another characteristic of the invention, the rotors are of the oscillating hub type, characterized by a greater resistance and a better response to dynamic stresses imposed by the effect of waves and waves on the structures.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the two rotors are counter-rotating, this characteristic being advantageous because it makes it possible to cancel the gyroscopic forces induced on the structures.
10 -3- According to another characteristic of the invention, it suffices to have a slight asymmetry of drag of one rotor relative to the other to cause a pivot angle. This feature is particularly interesting because it allows steering the orientation of the upper part of the assembly, to place it facing the wind, only by varying the pitch of the blades of the two rotors differently. It is then useless to implement a heavy and expensive mechanical orientation device with motor and gears. 10 -3-
According to another characteristic of the invention, it suffices to have a slight asymmetry of drag of one rotor relative to the other to cause a pivot angle. This feature is particularly interesting because it allows steering the orientation of the upper part of the assembly, to place it facing the wind, only by varying the pitch of the blades of one of the two rotors. It is then useless to implement a heavy and expensive mechanical orientation device with motor and gears.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the rotors are of the two-blade type. This feature is particularly interesting because it facilitates the horizontal transport of the wind turbine, on land and sea, by a smaller footprint.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the aerogenerator can be assembled on the ground on a single solid ground, and then transported horizontally to the ground using trolleys to the launching dock. The launch can be achieved by rolling it on a gently sloping ground towards the sea, which has the advantage of not requiring a crane, hence a practical and economical gain.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the aerogenerator can be towed on the water horizontally, carried safely, stably and inexpensively by the buoyancy of Archimedes and three simple floats, to the place of exploitation. One float carries the ballast, two others each support the two pods at a good distance above the water, thus limiting the risks of immersion of the pods during transport. This solution has the advantage of not requiring a barge and crane for transporting the wind turbine.
According to another characteristic of the invention, a guide system is provided for tensioning the anchor lines from the surface (16) of the sea. The anchoring cables pass through a guide (11) located in the central mast and then are directed vertically towards the surface (16) for the purpose of stretching them in the open air by a guiding device (12) and winch (13). The installation of the aerogenerator is easy, without the use of crane, tending the guys with the help of winches. The procedure is as follows: The anchor lines are passed through the guides (11) and (12). The anchoring lines are tensioned using the winch system (13). The cable supporting the float is simultaneously relaxed ( 8) relative to the ballast (4), one detaches the floats (8), (9) and (10) then unused. This solution advantageously avoids the use of a transport barge and a crane.
According to another characteristic of the invention, if it is desired to repatriate the wind generator to land for example 40 for maintenance reasons or when it reaches its end of life, we proceed as follows:
We put in place the floats (8), (9) and (10) previously used for transport, We relax the anchor lines using the winches (13), We draw with a cable and a tug at the top of the wind generator so as to help it to tilt and 45 to bed to the transport floats (9) and (10), the cable supporting the float (8) relative to the ballast (4) is simultaneously tensioned. that it support it as soon as the wind turbine leans, We separate the anchor lines of the structure and we attach them to a buoy for later recovery, 50 We tow the wind turbine horizontally to the port where it will be taken care of.
This solution advantageously avoids the use of a transport barge and a crane.
According to another characteristic of the invention, for example 9 struts ensure the maintenance of the structure, 55 grouped for example in groups of 3 in order to easily perform the replacement of a stay, the other two of the same group taking over the time of the intervention, thus avoiding the shutdown of the unfavorable aerogenerator in economic terms.
