Abstract

The barrier has a series of buoys or floaters (2) spaced out with each other for maintaining a semi-rigid tube (1) above a surface of water (5) at a height (3). An anti-jellyfish fillet (6) has an apex fixed on the tube for allowing circulation of the surface water, and a top portion of the fillet swaddles the buoys or floaters and the tube. A mesh of the fillet is adapted to size of animal species or macro-waste to be stopped, and bottom of the fillet is ballasted by a leaded nylon, a cable or a chain, so as to rest the fillet on the bottom.

Description

. -3- The present invention relates to a system for protecting a swimming area against jellyfish or other animal species as well as macro waste. There are 2 types of jellyfish dams. The first is an anti-pollution dam on which is attached an anti-jellyfish net. The disadvantage of this dam is that it blocks the circulation of surface water thus avoiding the regeneration of bathing water or a risk of pollution of the latter. The second type allows surface water to pass but its design strongly limits this circulation. The floats that hold the net are virtually continuous and limit the flow of surface water. The device of the present invention makes it possible to remedy surface water circulation problems by leaving a passage of 60% to 90% while containing the jellyfish outside the bathing area. This system allows a natural regeneration of bathing water. The dam is of a semi rigid type. It consists of a semi-rigid tube supported by buoys distributed along the tube. The tube is kept above the water level via the buoys. The height of the tube relative to the water level is a function of the diameter of the buoys set up. The anti-jellyfish net is thus fixed on the tube like a curtain on its rod. The tube is rigid enough to allow the net to be held between 2 buoys above the surface of the water. The net can also swaddled the buoys and the tube. Only buoys reduce the percentage of surface water circulation. The semi-rigid structure of the dam and its low grip on the surface of the water also allow better resistance to currents, swells, winds and allows a rounding while limiting the number of anchor points. . The attached drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 shows the dam seen from the front with the net hooked on the tube FIG. 2 represents the dam seen from the front with the net that swaddles the buoys FIG. 3 represents the dam in section with the net FIG. 4 represents the sectional dam with the net swaddling the buoys FIG. 5 shows the barrier seen from above With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a semi-rigid tube made of polyethylene or other materials (1) buoys or floats (2) are crossed in their axis by the tube (1). These buoys make it possible to maintain the tube above the water level (5) of the height (3). The mark (4) represents the horizontal filter zone between two buoys. The marker (6) is the anti-jellyfish net. It is hung on the tube on its high part, its lower part is ballasted by a leaded nylon or a chain (7). The dam is maintained by a series of dead bodies or anchor screw or seal in the seabed (8) .The lower part of the dam is maintained by a line (9) mooring connected to the point d ' anchorage (8). The upper part of the dam is maintained by mooring line (10) which pulls horizontally on the dam through the temporary buoy (11) to avoid immersing in case of 5 swells or current. . -3-
