Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a device for supplying electrical energy to an aircraft and more particularly to the regulation of the AC voltage supplied by a main electric generator driven by an engine of the aircraft. Typically, in an aircraft, a main electric generator located in the engine zone produces an AC voltage that is conveyed by a main power supply line to an aircraft electrical network on board the fuselage area. "Motor zone" here means an area limited to the environment close to the engine including the engine itself and associated equipment, the nacelle and the pylon supporting the nacelle. The main generator usually comprises a synchronous generator and an exciter whose armature supplies the rotor of the synchronous generator via a rotating diode bridge, the assembly being mounted on a shaft mechanically coupled to the motor.
An auxiliary electrical generator such as a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) permanent magnet generator can be mounted on the same shaft. The regulation of the main generator is usually performed by a generator control unit, or GCU (Generator Control Unit) located in the fuselage zone. This receives an information representative of the value of the voltage Vpor measured at a control point, or POR (for Point Of Regulation) located on the power supply line in the fuselage zone and supplies the exciter inductor with an excitation voltage adapted to ensure the servo-control of the value Vpor to a reference value Vref, the excitation voltage being transmitted from the fuselage zone to the motor zone by electrical harness. The electrical energy necessary for the operation of the GCU and the generation of the excitation voltage is produced by the auxiliary generator and transmitted from the engine zone to the fuselage zone by electrical harness.
A line contactor is further inserted on the power supply line in the fuselage zone, the POR being normally located in the immediate vicinity of the contactor, upstream (that is to say on the main electrical generator side). The GCU receives information, especially on the intensity of the current on the main line, and provides a protection function by controlling if necessary the opening of the line contactor. In the engine zone, there is also an engine control computer, also designated by FADEC (for Full Authority Digital Engine Control), which is powered by an auxiliary generator such as a permanent magnet alternator or PMA (Permanent Magret Alternator) which the rotor is mechanically coupled to the motor.
OBJECT AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The purpose of the invention is to propose a simplified architecture of an electric power supply device for an aircraft and proposes for this purpose a power supply device comprising: a main electrical generator for providing a main AC voltage on a power supply line being driven by an engine of the aircraft, the supply line extending between the engine zone and the fuselage zone of the aircraft, - at least one auxiliary electrical generator for providing an auxiliary electrical voltage being driven by said motor, - a digital engine control computer, and - a regulator receiving information representative of the value of the voltage at a control point on the power supply line and controlling the energizing the main electrical generator to enslave the value of the voltage at the control point to a voltage value of reference, device in which the regulator comprises: a digital control circuit integrated in the engine control computer, receiving the information representing the value of the voltage at the control point and information representative of the value of the reference voltage and delivering a signal representative of a reference excitation current of the main electrical generator, and - a power circuit producing an excitation voltage to be applied to the main generator as a function of the reference excitation current, - the power circuit being outside the engine control computer while being located in the engine zone. By placing the regulator of the main electric generator in the engine zone, electrical harnesses are saved between the engine zone and the fuselage zone and by integrating the regulator's digital regulation circuit into the engine control computer, it is possible to benefit from the resources of the computer. . The power circuit of the regulator is arranged in the engine zone outside the computer to avoid excessive heat dissipation in the computer housing. The power circuit is supplied with electrical energy by the auxiliary generator. The engine control computer can be supplied with electrical energy by the same auxiliary generator as that supplying the power circuit or by a separate auxiliary generator. A line contactor mounted on the power supply line may be controlled by the controller by routing control signals on a digital bus connecting the motor zone to the fuselage zone. The control point being located on the power supply line fuselage zone, the information representative of the value of the voltage at the control point can then be transmitted on a digital bus connecting the motor zone to the fuselage zone.
Communication between the controller and the digital bus fuselage area may utilize available communication resources conveying information between the engine and devices on board the aircraft.

Brief Description of the Drawings In the accompanying drawings: - Figure 1 shows schematically an embodiment of a power supply device according to the invention; and FIG. 2 shows in more detail the regulator of the main generator in the device of FIG. 1.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS In FIG. 1, the references 10 and 50 denote respectively a motor zone and the fuselage zone of an airplane. As indicated above, the engine zone is limited to the engine itself and its close environment including the equipment associated with the engine, the nacelle and the pylon supporting the nacelle. The engine may be a gas turbine engine. In the motor zone, the generation of electrical energy is mainly provided by a generator 12 comprising a synchronous generator 14 and an exciter 16 whose armature supplies the windings of the rotor of the generator 12 by a rectifying bridge with rotating diodes 18. A generator auxiliary 20 such that a PMG provides a Vaux auxiliary voltage used to power the inductor of the exciter 16. The rotors of the generator 12 and the exciter 14 are mounted on a common shaft mechanically coupled to a motor shaft, the rotor of the PMG 20 can be mounted on the same common shaft. Still in the engine zone, a second auxiliary generator 30 such as a PMA, also coupled to a motor shaft, provides a supply voltage to a motor control computer 32 also commonly designated ECU (Engine Control Unit) or FADEC. The alternating electric voltage produced by the generator 12 is transmitted in the fuselage zone by a main power supply line 40. The line 40 is connected to a bus 52 of an aircraft electrical network comprising various bus distribution buses. AC voltage and DC voltage, in a manner well known per se. A line contactor 54 is inserted on the line 40 in the fuselage zone. The line contactor is closed when the voltage delivered by the generator 12 after starting the engine reaches a satisfactory level and is controlled in opening in case of fault detection, for example overcurrent on the line 40. In a well-known manner, As a redundancy, the computer 32 is doubled by being composed of two identical sets. Also as redundancy, the generators 12, 20 and 30 can be doubled. The voltage supplied on the line 40 is regulated by controlling the excitation of the main generator 12 so as to slave the value of the voltage Vpor at a control point POR 56 to a reference value Vref. The POR 56 is located on the fuselage zone line 40 immediately upstream of the line contactor 54 (i.e. on the main generator side 12). According to the invention, the regulation of the voltage is ensured by a regulator (lines 1 and 2) which is situated in the motor zone and which comprises a digital regulation circuit 60 integrated in the computer 32 and a power circuit 70 outside the computer 32. The voltage value Vpor is converted into digital form by means of an analog / digital converter (not shown) connected to the POR 56 and is fed to the digital control circuit 60 via a digital bus 42 extending between the fuselage zone. and the motor zone. It will be possible to use an existing bus carrying information between the engine and various devices on board the aircraft. The digital control circuit 60 comprises a comparator 62 which receives from the bus 42 the information representative of Vpor and which receives an information representative of Vref for example stored in the computer 32. The comparator 62 delivers to a calculation circuit 64 a information representative of the difference between Vpor and Vref. As a function of this difference, the calculation circuit produces information representative of a set value IeXref of the intensity of the excitation current to be applied to the inductor of the exciter 14. This setpoint value can be elaborated taking into account also account engine speed represented by an information N representing the instantaneous speed of rotation of a motor shaft, this information being anyway transmitted to the computer 32. Such a method of calculating IeXref is known per se. The power circuit 70 comprises a comparator 72 which receives the information representative of IeXref and an information representative of the instantaneous value IeX of the actual current in the inductor of the exciter 14. The comparator 72 delivers to a voltage generator 74 information representative of the difference between Iex and IeXref • Depending on this difference, the voltage generator produces a DC voltage Vex to be applied to the inductor of the generator. The power circuit 70 is powered by the voltage Vaux produced by the PMG 20, via an analog / digital converter (not shown) which supplies a DC voltage which supplies the components of the power circuit 70 and from which the voltage Vex is developed. The power circuit further comprises a digital control unit 76 providing a protection function. The control unit 76 thus receives information representative of the instantaneous value of the intensity IL of the current flowing on the supply line 40 and produces an opening control information of the line contactor 54 when the intensity IL exceeds a predetermined threshold. This control information is transmitted in digital form on the bus 42, the line contactor 54 being equipped with a control circuit (not shown) connected to the bus 42. Other information may be transmitted to the control unit 76 , for example information representative of the temperature T ° of one or more components of the main generator to possibly control the opening of the line contactor in case of overheating. Note that the digital circuit comprising the comparator 72 and / or the digital control unit 76 may be integrated in the computer 32, in the same way as the digital control circuit 60.
In addition, the power circuit can be powered by the same auxiliary generator as that (PMA 30) supplying the computer 32, the PMG 20 can then be omitted.
