Description
The present invention relates to the treatment of body regions likely to be a source of excessive sweating. Background The armpits in particular are the place of several discomforts, which come either directly or indirectly, phenomena of perspiration. Firstly, the presence of water associated with perspiration is generally felt to be unpleasant and perspiration, under certain conditions, wets clothes. The evaporation of perspiration, which leaves salts and proteins, causes visible traces and / or unpleasant sensations. In addition, odors can develop. The discomfort can also result, even in case of moderate perspiration and in the case where one does not perceive visually of traces of water, nor odor, other factors like the friction and the temperature, exalted by the confinement of the location. Other sources of discomfort may be hair removal or regrowth and the use of certain clothing, especially those with significant impermeability. Aluminum salt technology has been widely used to solve or limit some of these problems, but it has flaws. Indeed, if it reduces the presence of water and odor, it is not active on other sources of discomfort.
In addition, for some, the application of a wetting product is considered unpleasant because of the wet sensation at the time of application. This sensation can be reduced by using compositions having volatile solvents, but the use of these at high levels also has drawbacks. The application of a composition to control perspiration or its effects can still be considered unsatisfactory because of possible sticky aspects or traces left on clothing. Finally, some people are reluctant to repeated applications of products on the body. US 2006/0210504 discloses a composition comprising an anticholinergic compound for acting on the nerve fiber to prevent the release of acetylcholine to the sweat gland.
L'article Clinicat evaluation of the immediate effectivness of GaAlAs laser on 15 the therapy of Dentin hypersensitivity, de M. S. Noya et col. J. Appl. L'article Phototherapy improves healing of cutaneous wounds in Nourished and undernourished Wistar Rats, de A. L. B. Pinheiro et col., Braz Dent J. (2004) 15(special issue):pages SI 21-SI 28 enseigne de réaliser un traitement lumineux à 635 nm à 25 20J par cm'. La publication Infrared Laser Light further improves Bone healing when associated with Bone morphogenic proteins: An invivo study in Rodent Model, de M.E. La publication Effectiveness of Laser Photobiomodulation at 660 or 780 nm on the repair of third degree burns in diabetic rats, de G.C.S. Another possible approach and in some cases recommended is to inject botulinum toxin to obtain an antiperspirant effect, but the use of an injection greatly limits the exploitation of this approach, limited to cases of hyperhidrosis. Accessories have also been proposed to avoid certain drawbacks related to perspiration. For example, the applications US 2006/0041987 or US 2006/0015981 disclose patches to be applied under the armpit. JP 2006 043319 A2 describes the use of UV light to kill germs responsible for odor development. All existing solutions are not entirely satisfactory and there is a need for new treatments and devices to combat perspiration and associated discomfort. It is known that certain electromagnetic radiations can interfere with cell regeneration phenomena and / or with sensitivity phenomena. Clinical Evaluation of the Immediate Effectivness of GaAlAs Laser on the Therapy of Dentin Hypersensitivity, by M. S. Noya et al. J. Appl. Oral Science, 2004, 12 (4) 363-6 thus discloses a method of treating hypersensitivity of teeth with light at 670 nm at a rate of about 5J / cm 2. The publication Assessment of Antiinflammatory Effect of 830 nm laser light using C-reactive protein levels, by A.C. de Freitas et al., Braz. Tooth. J. (2001) 12 (3) discloses on page 187-190 associating light treatment from 830 nm to about 5J per cm 2 at moderate doses of paracetamol. The article Phototherapy of the healing of cutaneous wounds in Nourished and Undernourished Wistar Rats, by ALB Pinheiro et al., Braz Dent J. (2004) 15 (special issue): pages SI 21-SI 28 teaches to perform a light treatment at 635 nm at 25 ° C per cm 2. The publication Infrared Laser Light further enhances Bone Morphogenetic Proteins: An invivo study in Rodent Model, by ME Martinez Gerbi et al., Photomedicine and Laser Surgery, Vol 26, number 1, 2008, pages 55-60 discloses perform a light treatment at 830 nm to 16 J per cm 2, in sessions of 4 J / cm 2. The publication Effectiveness of Laser Photobiomodulation at 660 or 780 nm on the repair of third degree burns in diabetic rats, G.C.S. Meireles et al. Photomedicine and laser surgery, Vol 26, number 1, 2008, pages 47 to 54 teaches performing a light treatment at 660 nm or 780 nm at 20J per cm 2. The publication Effect of Laser Therapy on Experimental wound healing using oxidized regenerated cellulose hemostat, L Prates Soares et al. Photomedicine and Laser Surgery, vol 26,1, 2008, pages 10 to 13 teaches performing a light treatment at 685 nm, 4J per cm2 regularly every 48 hours for 7 days and after injection of a biomaterial (Surgicel). The invention aims to propose a simple and practical solution to implement, remedying all or some of the above disadvantages.
SUMMARY The subject of the invention is, according to one of its aspects, a non-therapeutic method for reducing the non-pathological sweating of a region of the human body comprising sweat glands, comprising the step of exposing said region to radiation. IEC 60050 - International Electrotechnical Vocabulary - Details for IEV number 841-21-8 Electrical, mechanical and physical characteristics: electromagnetic energy, of nondestructive artificial origin, wavelength h greater than 400 nm and intensity adapted to exert an action on at least one mechanism related to the production of sweat to cause a temporary, non-therapeutic reduction of the activity of the sweat glands. The treated area may include underarms or other areas of the body such as the groin, palm of the hand or feet, for example.
The treatment according to the invention is not depilatory and not depigmenting, and is not intended for painful skin or pathological situations, with the aim of reducing daily discomfort due to perspiration. The invention acts on the biological sequences involved in the loss of comfort of the part of the treated body, in particular on the innervation and the triggering of the sweat glands. The invention also reduces the sensations of irritation that can produce moisture, friction or temperature. The electromagnetic radiation used in the invention may be of wavelength, in particular of dominant wavelength, ranging from 550 nm to 10 000 nm, better still 600 to 4000 nm, better still 800 to 1200 nm, for example about 870 nm. nm, 1030 or 1060 nm.
The power of the emitted electromagnetic radiation can range from 0.01 mW to 5 W, better from 1 mW to 2W. The energy received by the treated region can range from 0.0001 to 50 J / cm2 per 24-hour period, for example 0.1 to 1 J / cm 2. The treated region may be scanned for said electromagnetic, manual or automated radiation. This scanning may be intended to treat an extended surface and / or to concentrate the radiation on particular areas, especially on the sweat glands. The scanning can be carried out for example by a displacement, for example along at least one axis, or even two or three mutually perpendicular axes, of an optical head from which the beam emerges and / or by a change of orientation of an optical element, for example a mirror. In the case where the light beam is of flattened cross section, the scanning can be performed for example by moving the beam in a direction substantially perpendicular to its flattening direction. The treatment is preferably carried out by causing the electromagnetic radiation to converge under the surface of the skin, for example at a depth of between 1 and 8 mm, better still 2 and 6 mm, for example about 4 mm, where the density of glands swine is the strongest. Convergence can be achieved by optical means and a single radiation source or by several sources whose beams meet beneath the surface of the skin. Radiation can illuminate the entire area to be treated indiscriminately or be targeted at areas where the probability of finding sweat glands is greatest, especially on pores. Targeting can be achieved by applying a material whose optical properties change locally in the presence of water or sebum, which can be located at the pore level. In particular, the material may become less opaque locally by absorption of water or sebum. Exposure to radiation can be through such a material, which can allow more light locally to the pores because of its loss of opacity, allowing targeted treatment. The treatment can also be effected by directing the light onto areas where the presence of pores or transpiration products has been optically detected by means of a suitable detector and / or image analysis. Light pulses directed to each of the detected pores can be emitted successively.
The frequency of exposure to electromagnetic radiation may be greater than or equal to once a week, preferably being regular and at least three times a week, preferably at least five times a week. The radiation treatment may be followed or preceded by application of a composition to the treated region, as detailed below. The invention further relates to a method for treating perspiration-related body odor, especially axillary odors, comprising the step of illuminating the skin region concerned with radiation of wavelength and intensity adapted to to reduce the activity of the sweat glands. This method may include any of the features detailed above. In another aspect, the invention also relates to a treatment device comprising an electromagnetic radiation source for implementing one of the methods defined above.
This treatment device can be adapted to illuminate a region of the body such as armpits for example and produce a light beam, for example flat width ranging from 5 to 100 mm for example. The radiation emitted by the treatment device may converge at a distance of from 1 to 8 mm below the surface of the skin, more preferably from 2 to 6 mm. To this end, the device may comprise an optical system for converging the light emitted by a light source, for example one or more lenses, beneath the surface of the skin. The radiation-emitting treatment device may be brought into contact with the region to be treated, for example the armpit, or kept at a distance from it, without contact.
The device can be configured to be placed on the body, for example the armpit. The device can be arranged to be fixed on the body, for example under the armpit, or be attached to an undergarment or garment so as to illuminate the region to be treated. This can allow prolonged treatment. The treatment device may comprise fastening means on the skin, such as ties, suction cups, Velcro fasteners, elastic straps, bandage, garment, snap fasteners, adhesive, etc. It is shown in FIG. for example, a treatment device 10 fixed under the armpit by straps 17. The treatment device can still be integrated with a glove, a sole or a shoe.
The processing device may constitute a portable entity, preferably holding in one hand, containing all the elements for its operation. In a variant, the component (s) generating the radiation and those necessary for illuminating the region to be treated are not assembled in the same box.
Thus, it is possible to provide a device in at least two parts, for example a fixed part containing the radiation source or sources as well as a possible user interface for making adjustments, for example, and a moving part that is approaching. of the region to be treated, containing the light output, with for example an optics for generating a flat beam. The two parts are for example interconnected by at least one optical fiber. The processing device may further comprise a fixed part containing the power supply, an electronic circuit for controlling the radiation source and a moving part containing the light generating component or components. The treatment device may also include a housing serving at least two moving parts to simultaneously treat two regions of the body, the two armpits for example. In a particular case, the treatment device is configured to be worn during the day or at night, for example. The treatment device can thus be moved by the user to accompany him in his movements. This may allow for example underarm treatment throughout the day. In addition to possible movement systems, motorized or not, to ensure the scanning along two X and Y axes perpendicular to each other of the area to be treated by radiation, the treatment device may also be provided with a system for focusing the illumination in a Z axis perpendicular to the X and Y axes, for example by a movement, motorized or not, of the radiation source or sources and / or associated optics.
The device can be equipped with an autofocus system to quickly focus the convergence. The autofocus system indicates to the device the distance between the device and the skin, the device can recalculate the focusing distance, it being understood that preferentially, it calculates the focusing distance so that the irradiation rays converge at a distance. certain distance under the surface of the skin, advantageously between 2 and 6 mm. The device can be arranged to prevent light leakage, especially when it is intended to contact the skin, for example thanks to the presence of a flexible seal at the interface with the skin.
According to another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is also an assembly intended to reduce the perspiration of a region of the human body comprising sweat glands, comprising: a device comprising a source of electromagnetic radiation for the implementation of the method defined above, - a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition for use in conjunction with the treatment of the skin with the device, having an action on at least one mechanism related to perspiration. The composition may comprise at least one agent having an action on pain and / or inflammatory phenomena, in particular an agent chosen from agents involved or interacting on the transport of nerve impulses, for example on the transfer of nerve impulses. at the level of nerve endings, neuromuscular junction, motor plates, cholinergic synapses, post-keresynaptic receptors, among compounds having a parasympatholytic, anticholinergic action, analgesics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anticox 2 and paralyzers or muscle relaxants. The composition may comprise at least one compound chosen from biomaterials and biocompatible materials, in particular hyaluronic acid derivatives, cellulose derivatives and other carbohydrates and chains of carbohydrates, collagen derivatives or other peptides such as polylysine or polyhistidine.
The composition may comprise at least one compound chosen from antiperspirants, astringents or absorbents, in particular aluminum salts, zirconium salts, tannins, tannic acid derivatives, absorbent silica particles and porous polymeric particles. . The device comprising the radiation source and the composition may be packaged in the same packaging device, for example a box, a box, a bag, a bag or a blister. The device comprising the radiation source may still be integral with the device for conditioning the composition during use. For example, the composition may be contained in a container with end application means, and the light source is provided to emit radiation from an opposite end of the container.
According to another of its aspects, the subject of the invention is also an assembly comprising: a treatment device comprising a source of electromagnetic radiation for implementing the method according to the invention; a material having a decreasing opacity by absorption; of water or sebum, to be applied to the region to be treated, the illumination being through the material. Such an assembly can allow a targeted treatment on the pores. Source of electromagnetic radiation The radiation received by the treated zone may be visible or invisible light radiation. The light used may extend into the red and / or infrared zone. The spectrum of the emitted light may also extend and / or have peaks in other wavelength areas, such as blue, green or yellow light. The radiation preferably has a large portion of energy in the region of 550 nm to 10,000 nm, preferably 600 to 4000 nm. The spectrum of the radiation as received by the treated region may thus comprise at least one dominant wavelength in the range 600 to 4000 nm, especially in the near infrared. The radiation can be produced in different ways, in particular by laser effect. Several types of amplifier materials can be used to make the cavity within which the laser population inversion is performed. For example, it is possible to use solid materials such as: - materials for laser diodes or GaAs lasers producing wavelengths around 810, 820, 780, 870 nm, - GaAs materials typically producing wavelengths at around 900 nm, InGaA1P materials typically producing wavelengths around 650 nm, between 630 and 685 nm, ruby type materials, typically producing wavelengths around 690 nm, Neodymium: YAG type materials, producing wavelengths around 1064 nm, Ho: YAG type materials, producing wavelengths around 2130 nm, Er: YAG type materials producing lengths of wave at around 2940 nm, Alexandrite type materials, producing wavelengths around 720 to 800 nm, Titanium Sapphire type materials, typically producing wavelengths around 846 nm, - Ytterbium lasers, producing wavelengths around 1030 nm, and Erbium lasers producing wavelengths around 1550 nm. Liquid materials can still be used, such as in dye lasers, producing wavelengths ranging from red to infrared, or certain gases such as CO2, producing wavelengths in the infrared or HeNe. The radiation source may further comprise electroluminescent structures such as LED for example. The source used may in particular comprise a plurality of LEDs, for example more than ten LEDs arranged side by side.
The radiation source may further include an incandescent, halogen or rare gas lamp or flash lamp or other systems operating by electric discharge. The radiation source, for example in the case of a laser, can be used in continuous mode or pulsed mode. The sapphire titanium, YAG, ytterbium and erbium neodymium lasers are well suited for pulsed light emission, but other sources produce or can be modulated to produce timed illuminations. The control of the illumination can be effected electronically (switched mode Q for example) or by clocked shutter of the luminous flux.
It is still possible to create a pulsed light by means of clocked deviation of the luminous flux under the effect of a mechanical deflector or controlled by an electronic system. In the case of a particular laser, the duration of the pulses can vary from a few femtoseconds to a hundred milliseconds. More preferably, pulses with a duration ranging from 500 fs to 100 ns are used. The illumination frequency can vary from a few tens of kHz to a pulse per second or less. The average electrical power of a source according to the invention converted to light can range from 0.001 mW to 5W, preferably from 1 mW to 2 W. Illumination may not be evenly distributed over the treated surface and may not be uniform. to be continuous in time. As a result, some areas may receive higher power either locally or at times, and other areas may receive lower or no power. The user can make one application per day or less. It can also make several applications in the daytime. By application is meant an illumination cycle on a given region. A surface of one cm 'of skin may be illuminated to receive per day an energy ranging from 0.0001 J to 20 J, preferably from 0.04 J to 4 J. According to the power of the source, the duration of exposure can range from a fraction of a second to several tens of minutes, for example. In a particular case, the apparatus is fixed or located at the level of the treated region, for example the armpits, and it is maintained for the necessary duration in this zone. The user can wear the device during the day or during the night. In this particular case, the energy received per day may be greater than 20J / cm and may reach for example 50J / cm over a period of 24 hours. Since the light may be concentrated in a few areas within the treated area, for example the armpits, and not over the entire treated area, the energy received locally may be relatively large and some areas may receive energies up to at 50 J / cm2. An optical system can be used to focus or defocus light, for example at least one lens or microlenses.
We can also converge the light from several sources to the same point. A diffusing material, placed along the optical path, and in particular on the skin, can be used to spread the light and average the local concentrations. In order to adjust the luminous flux, in particular its section and / or intensity, it is possible to use a diaphragm system. One can, to adjust the spectral characteristics of the light received by the skin, use one or more filters, networks or prisms. Nonlinear optical elements, such as frequency doublers, can also be used to adjust the wavelength either within the recommended wavelength range or to bring a light into the interior. of the recommended wavelength range. At least one waveguide, including a light guide, may be used to bring the light to the region to be treated from a remote source. For example, the light is fed into the region to be treated, for example under the armpit, by one or more optical fibers. This can make relatively bulky optical components or an electronic control system of these components available elsewhere than in the vicinity of the armpit, which can be advantageous when it is desired to carry the light source. Optical fibers can also be integrated or attached to a garment or undergarment and bring the light to the region to be treated, for example armpits, from a light source worn on the belt, for example.
The invention thus also relates to a textile article, a glove or a shoe, comprising a treatment device emitting radiation for carrying out a treatment according to the invention. Scanning the region to be treated The region to be treated, for example the armpit, may extend over several tens of square centimeters, it is possible to provide a system for scanning this area with the light beam. We can do the scanning by hand. In particular, the device used can send light in a beam and the area can be scanned by moving the device approximately perpendicular to this beam. One can still use a mechanical scanning system, self-guided or not. The device used can modify itself, by a motorization, the orientation of the illumination and / or move the beam. The device can move the light source (s) or move an optical system to move the light rays, this optical system including for example one or more optical deflectors. The scanning frequency ranges, for example, from a few tens of Hz to a few hundred Hz. The scanning being carried out either manually or mechanically, it is possible during an application to cover the surface continuously. that is to say that all the points of the skin undergo at least once an illumination, that is to partially cover the surface, that is to say that certain points undergo and others not at least once an illumination . Depth of treatment The method according to the invention can be implemented with at least one parallel, convergent or divergent light beam. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a convergent light beam is used. Preferably, the point of convergence is below the surface of the skin, preferably about 1 to 8 mm below the surface of the skin and more preferably 2 to 6 mm, the focusing distance being predefined or adjustable. This convergence can be made from a single beam emitted by a single source or by directing the beams from several respective sources to the same area.
In the first case, it is possible to use an optical system of short focal length, converging the light rays at a very open solid angle, for example a focal length ranging from 5 to 30 mm, for example 1 cm. Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing schematically shows an example of a processing device 10 comprising a light source 11 and an optical system 12 for converging the beam emitted under the surface of the skin S to a depth d. In the second case, two or more light rays, if possible parallel or convergent, can be converged towards one and the same area. Preferably, the angle formed by the rays from the different sources is open. FIG. 2 represents a treatment device 10 comprising two sources 11 whose bundles intersect under the surface of the skin. The treatment device may be provided, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, with a system enabling it, when it is placed on the skin, to position an optical element 13 from which the radiation, also called an optical head, comes out at a distance given the skin. The treatment device may comprise, as illustrated in FIG. 3, a flexible plastic material gasket 14 arranged in such a way that, when the device is placed on the skin, the gasket crushes and the optical head 13 can be brought into contact. with the skin, as shown in Figure 4.
The treatment device may also comprise a mobile optical head, motorized, and provided with a stop system when it comes into contact with the skin. It is also possible to provide a moving optical head that moves to contact the skin under the action of a spring. In this case, it is possible to ensure the convergence of the luminous flux by means of an optical system configured so that the convergence is situated at a predefined distance from the optical head, for example from 1 to 8 mm. The processing device may include a distance measuring system. Thus, by continuously measuring the distance D between the optical head and the surface of the skin opposite, the device can move the optical head towards the skin or play on the focusing of the rays or light sources. The focusing is carried out so that the rays converge at a distance 1 = D + d, where d is preferably between 1 and 8 mm. One can also proceed, as illustrated in Figure 5, by applying to the skin S, or near the skin, microlenses 20, for example a flexible plastic sheet molded so that it has a network of microlenses. The light is sent, for example in the form of parallel rays, perpendicular to the skin. By passing through the micro lenses, the light is deflected to converge at a predefined distance d below the surface of the skin, preferably from 1 to 8 mm below.
Targeting on the treated region The method according to the invention can be implemented by selectively treating predefined areas of the region comprising the sweat glands. Preferably, this targeting is associated with a treatment at a predefined depth, as detailed above. The illumination can thus target the areas of the pores of the skin or at least the areas with the highest probability of being inhabited by one or more pores, areas below which the sweat glands are located. A means may consist, as illustrated in FIG. 6, of applying to the skin in the region to be treated a material in the form of a sheet whose optical properties, for example opacity, change as a function of the presence of water or other ingredients produced by the skin and related to perspiration. Thus, a sheet of paper or polyethylene may, under the effect of perspiration and water or sebum, become locally transparent in areas 31 located above the pores P of the skin. Subsequently, by illuminating the entire region covered by the sheet, only the locations below the areas 31 having been made transparent will receive the luminous flux.
Targeted treatment to a predefined depth and / or predefined areas of the skin surface, especially above the pores, is advantageously carried out with average energies exceeding 0.5 J / cm 2 for an application. The treatment at a predefined depth and / or on predefined zones, especially above the pores, can be carried out with pulsed luminous fluxes and preferably with pulsed luminous fluxes of power greater than 1000 W, with for example 10 mJ per pulse. Control systems, comfort and / or safety The energies used may be important, we can provide the treatment device according to the invention of control systems, comfort and / or safety.
In particular, the device may include a filter to reduce possible UV irradiation for example.
The device may also include a heat detector or gas such as for example IR detectors, thermocouples or CO2 detectors that can alert, limit or block irradiation. The device may include a cooling system such as a fan or Peltier effect system for cooling the light source or sources. The device may comprise a servo linking information such as heat for example and illumination. In particular, the system can scan the IR radiation continuously, in an area close to the treatment area, but shifted. This offset is for example greater than 5 mm, for example between 5 and 15 mm, for example about 10 mm, and thus allows to understand the temperature of the skin, without being influenced by the irradiation. If the IR radiation, expressed in degrees, exceeds a limit (eg 45 ° C), the system may warn the user of a risk of overheating. If the radiation exceeds a second limit, (eg 55 ° C), the system may electronically block the operation of the irradiation source.
The device may comprise a housing for limiting optical leakage, for example of a shape adapted to follow the curves of an armpit. In the case where a convergence is used beneath the surface of the skin, the device can be provided with a servo-control system which allows the arrival of the luminous flux on the skin only if the convergence under the surface of the skin is possible. In other words, the system can block radiation if the device is too far from the skin for convergence to take place under the surface of the skin. According to one embodiment of the invention, the triggering and / or the energy of the radiation is enslaved to a state of the skin, for example to the presence of moisture or heat. Thus, the treatment device may comprise one or more local sensors, placed for example at the level of the treated region, for example the armpits. Direct use The invention can implement a direct use of light, illuminating the treated area, for example the armpits, so that it is the impact of light on the skin that creates the effects.
This use is recommended to act on the phenomenon of perspiration by acting on the innervation and the triggering of the sweat glands and to reduce the risks of irritation that can produce humidity, friction, temperature or external actions related to tissue or hair removal for example. Thus, one can treat the affected area in the morning for example, before or after washing. This use is therefore preventive, the treatment taking place before perspiration has caused discomfort. Optionally, several direct uses can be made in one day. Direct use can also be achieved while perspiration has begun to cause discomfort. Combined use According to the invention, the effect of light, other compounds or other physical effects may be used to increase, adjust or supplement the effect of light. The compounds that can be used together with the illumination of the region to be treated are, for example: i) agents acting in and on the phenomena of pain and / or inflammatory phenomena, for example those involved or interacting with the transport of nerve impulses, in the transfer of nerve impulses at the level of nerve endings, neuromuscular junction, motor plates, cholinergic synapses, postsynaptic receptors, inhibitors or agents interacting in these transport or transfer phenomena, compounds having a parasympatholytic, anticholinergic action, and more particularly the local anticholinergics, for example the curarisers and more particularly the botulinum toxin, the compounds acting on the release of acetylcholine at the cholinergic synapses, those acting on the reception of acetylcholine at the postsynaptic receptors, those acting on acetyl lcholine esterase, or those acting on the transport of the salts involved, in particular Ca2 +, paracetamol, salicylic acid derivatives and other analgesic agents, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, anticox 2 and paralyzing or myorelaxing agents, such as botox for example; ii) biomaterials, such as for example hyaluronic acid derivatives, cellulose derivatives and other carbohydrates or chains of carbohydrates, collagen derivatives or other peptides such as polylysine, polyhistidine, biomaterials involving all or part of elements minerals, such as silicones for example, biocompatible materials such as hydroxyapatite or silica; iii) solvents and volatile compounds, such as water, alcohols, ethers, ketones, alkanes and alkenes, such as isododecane, volatile silicones, perfumes and essential oils; iv) so-called antiperspirant, astringent or absorbent agents, such as aluminum salts, zirconium salts, tannins or tanic acid derivatives, absorbent silica particles or porous polymeric particles such as those sold under the name Orgasol by the Atochem company, for example; v) reactive agents or compositions, that is, agents or compositions whose shape may change under the effect of a stimulus or over time. Change is not necessarily a chemical change and can be a physicochemical change. This category includes: - heat sensitive agents such as waxes, crystalline polymers or thermocure polymers; light-sensitive agents, for example photopolymerizable or photocrosslinkable polymeric or oligomeric monomers; agents capable of reacting with the skin or ingredients deposited on the skin, for example thiols and in particular cysteine, procysteine, lipoic acid, thioglycolic acid, sequences of amino acids containing one or more several cysteines. It may also be agents such as DHA, or specific end-of-protein and / or developer-terminating reactants, such as, for example, ninhydrin derivatives or other compounds of the indan-one class; agents that can react with each other like sol-gels, for example siloxanes (aminopropyltriethoxysilane, reactive silicones), monomers bearing cyanoacrylate functions, combinations of molecules carrying functions specific to condensation; vi) agents known as softening, softening, emollient or moisturizing effects of the skin. It is also possible to deposit on the skin fatty substances, surfactants, fluid lubricants such as silicone oils for example, solid lubricants such as boron nitride particles, powders such as talc, magnesia, urea derivatives such as that urea itself or hydroethylide (Hydrovance), quaternized or non-quaternized cationic polymers, cationic surfactants, certain surfactants such as Tween 20 for example; vii) fluorescent or non-fluorescent dyes or pigments, hydrophilic or hydrophobic; viii) UV filters, organic or inorganic; ix) specific agents for the skin, such as retinol, proxylan, depigmenting agents or vitamins, for example vitamin C. The light treatment may also be associated with treatments that are carried out regularly on hair or other keratin fibers, for example depilatory treatments, relaxants such as mineral bases, organic bases, guanidine derivatives for example, oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, persalts. The skin can also be subjected to physical treatments, before or during or after the treatment, for example: (i) heat treatment, heating, cooling, ventilation, heat exchange with a solid material or liquid, ii) a light treatment by exposing the skin to another light, for example UV radiation, iii) an electric current, an electrostatic or radiofrequency field, for example, iv) mechanical effects, such as friction to activate the circulation or stretching, depilatory effect or shaving. Method of administration of the agents The compounds used in conjunction with the illumination may be deposited, vaporized, injected or microinjected. These compounds can be deposited in a fluid dosage form, such as a more or less fluid or creamy emulsion, for example a gel. In the case of emulsions, transparent emulsions are recommended. The compounds can be sprayed on the region to be treated. They can be deposited by means of a buffer located on the treatment device comprising the source of electromagnetic radiation. Thus, it is possible to make a first passage or a first scan whose effect is to apply the agent, without activating the illumination, then a second passage to illuminate the region to be treated. We can also proceed in reverse order. We can repeat these sequences. A thin band can also be applied to the skin before or after treatment. This band can be adhesive or not. It can be removed immediately after treatment or kept. The band may be transparent or colored, pigmented, opaque or opalescent. It can be heat-sensitive or photosensitive. It can be dry or wet or moist. Thus, an example of treatment includes the steps of applying a band on the armpit, depositing a liquid or a fluid on the band, and then performing the illumination treatment.
Methods of use It is possible to illuminate the entire surface of the region to be treated, for example the armpits. We can also illuminate only part of it. Preferably, it illuminates at least 25% of the area which is to reduce perspiration. In the case where the light is targeted on the pores, this proportion may be limited to less than 25%, for example between 5 and 15%, for example of the order of 10%. Illumination is continuous or pulsed. It can be done in one or more times. During the application, the illumination may vary in power and / or wavelength and / or rate of fire.
L'énergie 30 reçue par cm2 de peau est d'environ 0,8 J. Short applications (less than 10 s) or slow applications (more than one hour) can be realized. In a particular case, the application lasts for hours. For example, under the armpits is placed a device carrying the light source or the light may be from a remote source and conveyed to the armpit. The device is attached or fixed to ensure good support. The treatment can be done at night or during a rest period. The device may further provide a counter system, stopping the irradiation after a given time or a given delivered energy. In this case, the treatment lasts for example about 4 hours. A method of treatment may be to perform an application once a day, repeated daily or once every 48 hours or 72 hours. Preferably, the frequency is greater than 1 time per week. Illumination treatment can be combined with other treatments, either to increase the antiperspirant effect or comfort, for example application of conventional antiperspirants, or to complete it, for example by application of deodorant or softener of the skin, or obtain effects unrelated to each other but to save time, for example a depilatory treatment. It is also possible to apply an antibacterial agent, for example Trichlosan. EXAMPLES EXAMPLES Example 1 40 LEDs from Marubeni, referenced C1060-35, were mounted on a housing using an InGaAsP / InP type material. These LEDs each produce about 0.4 mW, making a total of 16 mW for the source. The wavelength is about 1060 nm. A converging lens is placed near the LEDs. Convergence is provided at a distance of 30 mm from the plane of the LEDs and 4 mm below the base of the device. The latter has a power supply and placed on the underarm skin. The user slowly sweeps the surface of the underarms about 25 cm '. The treatment lasts about 4 minutes. The energy received per cm 2 of skin is about 200 mJ. Example 2 Two series of 60 LEDs each, identical to the LEDs of Example 1, were used to produce 120 mW. The device is placed on an armpit and it is scanned for 70 seconds. The energy received per cm 2 of skin is about 300 mJ. Example 3 This example uses a device which differs from that of Example 1 only in that 60 AlGaAs-type LEDs from the Marubeni company, reference L8700-66-60, are used which supply a current of There is about 2W of infrared light at 870 nm. These LEDs are mounted on a mobile carriage allowing movement along an axis X. The movement of the carriage is ensured for example by a Performax 1 CD engine, driven by a programmable logic array, for example Cyclone III EPC 3 from Altera. The power supply of the LEDs is activated by the programmable logic network. The motor displacement electronics and the power supply are contained in the housing of the device. The carriage performs for example for 5s two round trips. LEDs are only activated during this travel time. The energy received per cm 2 of skin is about 0.8 J.
Example 4 A Femto laser from the company Amplitude systems, referenced S-Pulse HP, is used. Each pulse lasts about 500 femtoseconds. The pulses are sent at a rate of 1000 Hz. Each pulse has an energy of about 0.25 mJ. The wavelength is about 1030 nm. At the exit of the laser, a suitable optical fiber and an optical deflector clocked at 100 Hz are placed. The optical deflector is mounted on a movable handle. The skin is swept by holding the movable handle 1 cm away from the skin. The treatment lasts 40 seconds for the armpit surface. The energy received per cm of skin is about 0.4 J. The invention is not limited to the examples described. The invention applies to the treatment of body regions other than armpits, for example the groin, the feet, the scalp or the palm of the hand. All of the above description applies to these regions.
