Abstract

The pliers have jaws (1, 2) respectively provided with sharp spouts (4, 5) having cups at a pair of ends of the jaws and machined holes (7, 8) at another pair of ends of the jaws, where the jaws are coupled by an axle (3). The jaws are articulated by two diamond shaped clamps having connecting rods (9-12) activated by a central screw (6) with a rectified thread. The central screw includes a neckline part overdomed by a spring blocked by a washer (16). The rectified thread of the screw is screwed and unscrewed in another axle provided inside a rectified drilling.

Description

The present invention relates to a clip cut pins of different sections, used in the operating room. Essentially known are the conventional systems of cutters pin style bolts. Regarding the latter system, it has significant disadvantages, especially for lack of efficiency because it requires considerable manual effort and often requires the intervention of a second person vis-à-vis to achieve the result request. The practitioner acts directly in the operating field. At the moment of the shock inherent in the cutting of the spindle, the surgeon is each time about to lose his balance and thus risk seriously injuring the patient. Also known is the system deposited under No. 0311810 which in its mechanism too simple, returns to the bolt cut to which one would have adapted a transverse threaded rod for the purpose of bringing the two arms towards one another. This design requires an enormous width of space because the force emitted by an external engine is under no circumstances geared enough; moreover this motor is parallel to the operating field thus masking the precision of the cut. We also know the system deposited under No. 0412729 by myself. It turns out on the one hand that the instrument can not in any case be used because when the pneumatic turbine or the engine is in action must necessarily a handle on the instrument because it rotates with the chuck and other on the other hand, the open jaws must be parallel and not curved because at each cutting attack the tips of the jaws are mated when cutting a flat broach. Regarding the return spring, it loses its strength and becomes brittle after a few sterilizations and finally it is absolutely necessary to speak of a rectified thread because a traditional thread is infected from the first cut. The system according to the invention makes it possible to remedy all these problems. The entire mechanism will be performed in metals suitable for sterilization and operating rooms as well as in contact with human flesh.

The invention is described according to a particular non-limiting embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 represents the invention of faces with parallel open beaks. - Figure 2 shows the invention of face crossed closed beaks. - Figure 3 shows the invention in profile. - Figure 4 shows the central body integrating inside the mechanism. - Figure 5 shows the detail of the rectified thread. With reference to these drawings, this pin cutter according to the invention is composed of several articulated parts. In FIG. 1, the instrument is represented in its entirety with its two open, parallel cutting tips (4, 5) so as to envelop and apprehend any form of spindle in order to cut it; these beaks are each extended by an arm connected by an axis (3) located towards this cutting part, and, opposite two machined holes, receiving an axis (7,8) allowing the installation of two articulated stirrups, diamond shaped, consisting of four rods each (9,10,11,12) on both sides of the two jaws. In FIG. 2, the instrument is shown from the front with its two intersecting, sharp beaks (4, 5). The two jaws (1,2) are spaced apart, the two lozenge joints having fulfilled their mission, the stirrups being tightened one sees appear the central body to the rectified thread (6) having at its end a neck portion (14) overtopped d a spring (15) blocked at the end by a washer (16) or other bar turning. This allows, during the opening maneuver to avoid a front impact, and thus to access a system allowing disengagement via the spring (15) which, itself, reboots by pressing the central screw (6) in its pusher nut (17) also serving as the central axis of the stirrup.

When the cutting tips (4,5) are closed, the central screw (6) has a second part neck (19) which this time avoids the rear impact. To reboot the central screw (6), in the other direction, there are two O-rings (18) of a large diameter wrapping externally two rods placed on either side of the instrument and which will come to bear, when the instrument will be closed on the two antagonistic rods and thus push forward the nut (17) due to the elasticity of the seal to crush. FIG. 3 represents the profile instrument with on either side of the jaws (1, 2), two sets of links (9, 10, 11, 12) actuating the opening and closing of the parallel jaws (4, 5). The nut (17) serving as an axis moves the stirrup either forwards or backwards, away from or nearing the fixed axis (20) extended by a threaded stud (21) on which comes fix a removable handle (22).

Figure 4 shows the central body through the nut (17) and the fixed axis (20) and terminated by a nozzle (13) adapted to adapt to a turbine or an electric motor. The cutting done with this instrument facilitates the work of the practitioner in a considerable way, because, on the one hand the execution of the work requires no effort for it thus allowing much more attention and precision in the handling of a cutting tool, and on the other hand it is much less traumatic for the patient who, with this system will not undergo any constraint inherent in the manual effort of a third person, in this case the surgeon.

Figure 5 shows in zoom the appearance of the rectified thread (6).
