PROCEDE DE CONTROLE DE LA CONFORMITE DIMENSIONNELLE D'UNE PIECE ET DISPOSITIF DE MISE EN îUVRE D'UN TEL PROCEDE METHOD FOR MONITORING THE DIMENSIONAL COMPLIANCE OF A WORKPIECE AND DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING SUCH A METHOD
The invention relates to a method for controlling the dimensional compliance of a part and a device for implementing such a method. Per piece means an element of a machine, a product, a vehicle or an assembly of several of these elements. These pieces, of various shapes, can be made of different materials, for example metal or polymers. Their surface may be smooth or not. These different parts are made by techniques known per se, for example by machining or molding. When making a part, it is important to check that it conforms to the specifications, that is to say that the dimensional deviations between the part produced and the theoretical part are within accepted tolerances. Thus, before starting the production of a series of parts, a dimensional check is performed on certain parts, taken at random, in order to optimize the settings of the production line. Given the complexity of certain parts, several dimensions such as, for example, the thickness, the length, the width, the value of certain angles must be controlled. The number of parameters to be controlled depends on the complexity of the parts and / or tolerances accepted. It is common to have at least three dimensions to control, even for geometrically simple pieces. The control of these dimensions must be carried out as precisely and as quickly as possible and above all without altering, or at least minimizing, the part. Indeed, if the controlled part is compliant, it must not be destroyed but must be able to reintegrate the production line. To carry out this dimensional control, touch probes or comparators are generally used. These are calibrated against a given dimension for a given measurement area. To carry out the control, it is necessary to precisely position the comparator at the desired location, this setting up being carried out manually. In addition, the portion of the comparator resting on the workpiece may, depending on the support force which is set manually, vary the measurement and provide a more or less erroneous value. In some cases, when the parts are relatively fragile, excessive support of the comparator on the area to be measured can damage, for example by scratches, the part. The different values obtained are then compared with pre-established values in order to calculate the deviation from the theoretical dimensions and thus to assess the conformity of the part with the specifications. The user can thus decide whether or not the part must be reworked or resumed in manufacture in another way and therefore adjust the production line accordingly. This control operation is relatively long and limited by the use of contact comparators. It is these drawbacks that the invention more particularly intends to remedy by proposing a reliable control method making it possible to quickly know the dimensional conformity of a part, while preserving the integrity thereof. For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a method for checking the dimensional compliance of a part, characterized in that it comprises at least: a) a first step of placing at least one optical detector emitting a laser beam above a receiving area of a test portion of said workpiece, said workpiece not being in place, - b) a second step of calibrating the optical detector by measuring the distance between the detector and a sight placed on the zone of reception of the part, - c) a third step of measurement of the distance between the part to be controlled of the part positioned on a support and the optical detector, after setting up the part to be measured on the reception zone, above the test pattern and - d) a fourth step of processing the measured values and determining a deviation from a theoretical value representative of a theoretical part.
With such a method, implementing at least one optical laser beam detector for measuring a distance relative to a reference distance, one can control several dimensions simultaneously and quickly, without contact with the part, so without degradation. According to advantageous but non-obligatory aspects of the invention, the method may incorporate one or more of the following characteristics: in step b), the pattern used is placed in a position corresponding to a theoretical distance between a theoretical part and the detector. - In step b), the test pattern is fixed to the receiving area of the piece removably. In step d), the distances measured between the parts to be inspected in the part and the detector are compared with the theoretical distances between the parts to be tested of the theoretical part and the detector. During step b) and step d), all the distances to be measured of the parts to be controlled of the part are determined simultaneously. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the above method comprising at least one optical detector emitting a laser beam positioned above each part to be controlled of the part and at least one reflection pattern of a beam emitted. by the optical detector. According to advantageous but non-obligatory aspects of the invention, the device may incorporate one or more of the following features: The device comprises at least one laser detector and a contact comparator for two parts to be controlled of the part. - At least one laser detector is removably mounted to be moved to different predefined locations, in order to control several parts of the room.
The invention will be better understood and other advantages thereof will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an embodiment of a method according to the invention and a device for implementation of the method, given solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a general view of an optical detector emitting a laser beam used in a device according to the invention; in position on a support, shown partially, in the step b) of calibration, - Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1, in step c) measuring a dimension on a part 3 is a diagrammatic representation, from the side, of the different measurement steps performed by the optical detector shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a theoretical part being shown in phantom and FIG. 4is a simplified representation in perspective of a measuring device incorporating an optical detector in place on a support different from that shown in Figures 1 and 2, on another scale, in step c) of measurement. For ease of reading, the supports illustrated in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 correspond to two different configurations of the installation for implementing the method. The device 1 illustrated in FIG. 4 comprises a fixed support 2 forming both the chassis for holding in position a part 3 to be controlled and the frame for holding in position an optical detector emitting a laser beam 4, said to be "laser detector". Such a detector is known per se. It emits a linear light beam F which, when it meets an obstacle, is reflected towards the source of emission. From a measurement of the time taken by the beam to return to the detector, it is possible to precisely determine a distance. In the example, the detector 4 used emits a pulsed 650 nm red laser beam. In the example, the piece 3 is an element of a dashboard of a vehicle, held in position on the support 2 by three holding members 5, in the form of arms. Each arm 5 has one end 6, adapted to immobilize the piece 3, by pinching between the end 6 of the arm and the support 2, at each holding zone. These arms 5 are pivotally mounted on brackets 7 and their end 6 in contact with the workpiece is provided with a tip, for example elastomer, so as not to damage the workpiece 3. The bearing force of these holding members 5 must be checked in order not to, on the one hand, damage the part 3, and on the other hand, not to deform the latter, which could adversely affect the measurements made thereafter. In the example, a single laser detector 4 is shown, it being understood that there may be as many as necessary, depending on the number of parts to be controlled on the part 3. The device comprises at least one detector 4 per measurement to be produced , that is to say by dimension to control.
For certain dimensional checks, the geometrical shape of the part does not allow easy use of a laser detector 4, for example because the path of the laser beam to the measuring point on the part 3 is not straight and / or cleared. For this, it is possible to use a device incorporating both manual contact comparators, and laser detectors 4. In a first step, the detector 4 is set up above a receiving area of the room . The laser detector 4 is mounted on a base or plate 8, advantageously removably. Slots 80 formed in the plate 8 allow the reception in several positions of screws, not shown, for blocking the detector 4 on the plate 8. Thus, it is possible to easily change the laser detector 4, for example in case of failure, for maintenance operations or for a detector having a different wavelength and / or power, depending on the measurement to be made and / or the nature of the part to be measured. One can also mount side by side, on the same plate 8, two detectors 4 to have two simultaneous measurements on the same part to be measured. To perform several checks without multiplying the number of detectors beyond the reasonable, it is expected that the or each detector 4, removably mounted on the plate 8, can be moved to different predefined locations, advantageously without requiring recalibration, to perform measurements in different parts to control the part. In a non-illustrated embodiment, at least one detector is slidably mounted on a support rail. It can thus move over several reception areas of the room, these being adapted to allow control by this detector. Such an embodiment is particularly suitable for controlling simple, flat parts. FIG. 1 illustrates the step b) of calibrating the detector 4, once it has been put in place on the plate 8. The detector 4 is, at first, positioned above an area 9 receiving part of a part 10 to control the piece 3. By part to be controlled, denotes a predetermined area of the part 3 to be controlled, that is to say, one wants to know a dimension. This zone is of reduced area compared to that of the part 3, often comparable to a point P. When it is desired to carry out a measurement, it is necessary to calibrate the detector 4, all the more so than this one is adjustable and removable. For this purpose, a pattern 11 is used which has been fixed on the receiving zone 9 of the part 10 to be checked. The target 11 is positioned relative to the support 2 'in a location and with a preset orientation, corresponding to a theoretical part digitized from the specifications. This pattern 11 makes it possible to control the length Lf of the laser beam F, that is to say the round-trip distance traveled by the latter between the detector 4 and this pattern 11 when the detector 4 is in place on the plate 8. In other words, compared to the verified length Lf of the beam F, a predetermined distance DT, chosen according to a theoretical value of the distance to be traveled by the laser beam between its emission point and a control part 10, is calibrated. on a theoretical piece 3 '. For this, we know, by calibration, the beam length Lf and, by the specifications, a theoretical length LT between the test pattern 11 and a test portion of a theoretical part 3 '. The theoretical distance DT between the laser detector 4 and the part to be measured of the part 3 'is given by: DT = Lf-LT. This distance DT may vary, for example with a known multiplier coefficient. The theoretical part 3 'is defined from the values given in the specifications. It is shown in phantom in FIG. 3. In a third step illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a measurement of the part 10 to be checked of the real part 3 is carried out. support 2, so that the part 10 to be checked is above the zone 9 of reception. The test pattern 11 remains in place on the zone 9 but is masked by the piece 3. The sight 11 is changed only when a coin is changed. If a detector is changed, the test pattern 11 remains in position to allow the recalibration of the new detector 4. A measurement similar to that carried out previously between the detector 4 and the detector 11 is then carried out. A distance Dm is thus measured between a point emission of the laser beam and a point P of reflection of the beam on the part 3, that is to say the distance Dm between the detector 4 and the part 10 to control the part. On a piece, it is common to have several parts to control. For this, there are as many detectors 4 as necessary above the parts to be controlled. The number of test patterns corresponds to the number necessary to calibrate the lengths Lf of the beams F of the detectors used. Thus, with several detectors and patterns, during the calibration step and the piece control step, the measurements of the beam lengths Lf and the measured distances Dm are carried out simultaneously on, respectively, all the test patterns. 11 in place on the receiving zones and on all the parts to be controlled of the part 3. In a fourth step, a processing of the measured values is carried out. For this purpose, after collecting all the data, the theoretical, calculated, and sought values of the distances DT between the part 3 'and the detector 4 and the measured values of the distances Dm between the measured value are compared for each part to be checked. 3 and the detector 4. By difference between the theoretical distance DT and the measured distance Dm, a gap e is obtained with e = DT-Dm. This gap e gives an indication of the conformity of the part 3 with respect to the theoretical part 3 '. According to the specifications, this difference e, either on all the parties to be checked 30 or on some of them, is considered acceptable and the piece is accepted or not. If this gap e is considered unacceptable, it redefines the parts of the part 3 to be modified, at the production line, so that a new part 3 is as close as possible to the theoretical part 3 ', or at the very least presents an acceptable gap. The issuance of a control report is thus easy and fast. The method makes it possible to validate very quickly the production of a part and the manufacture of a series. In a variant, it is easy, by multiplying the number of detectors advantageously mounted removably, to quickly check several check points and check the conformity of a part. Depending on the nature and / or color of the materials, they reflect the light more or less well. It is the same in the case of a non-smooth surface, for example rough or granular. In this case, the type of detector is suitable. In particular, the laser beam used will not be pulsed but scanning, for example 2 to 4 mm depending on the part to be controlled.
