Abstract

The method involves cutting an upper paperboard plate (2) so as to receive complementary supporting units (3) in a fixed manner on a lower surface (4) of the plate. The supporting units are folded from a paperboard band so as to form two notched grooves in which blocks (9) are placed. Each groove has a height and a width equal to dimensions of the corresponding block. Each block is constituted by packaging glue. An independent claim is also included for a paperboard pallet comprising an upper paperboard plate cut in a manner to receive complementary supporting units.

Description

The present invention is in the field of transport, storage and handling of products and goods. The invention relates more particularly to a pallet for the handling, storage and transport of products and goods. In known manner, the pallets are made through an assembly of pieces of wood. In addition to the fact that the use of this material does not contribute to sustainable development or the protection of the environment, the use of wood generates several drawbacks from the point of view of the cost price and the recycling, but also poses the problem of significant weight. In addition, the manufacture of such a wooden pallet can be complex, especially concerning the treatment of wood for certain types of transport or certain destinations. Another problem may be related to its handling, the raw wood containing splinters, which always requires some precautions. Nails and staples may also be offensive. This is why alternative materials such as metal, plastic or cardboard have been imagined. It is in the context of the use of the carton that the present invention will find its application. Indeed, cardboard is a fully recyclable product and whose weight is minimal compared to other products used. In addition, the realization of a cardboard pallet is considerably simplified, especially for cutting the different parts. Against all odds, the strength of a cardboard pallet can be as high as several hundred kilograms.

Several pallets in cartons are known from the state of the art. They can be molded or made by gluing or fixing pieces of cardboard. Such a cardboard pallet generally comprises an upper portion formed of a cardboard plate, of variable thickness, in which are glued support means, in the form of cubes or rafters extending under said plate. Often, additional pieces reinforce to secure the support elements located under the plate. This type of solution does not provide complete satisfaction, the invention therefore aims to overcome the disadvantages of the state of the art by providing a method of making a pallet cardboard. To do this, in such a method, a top plate of cardboard is cut in such a way as to receive, in fixing on its lower face, support means of complementary shape, characterized in that it consists in folding said support means from a cardboard strip so as to form at least two crenellated grooves in which are placed blocks. The invention also relates to a pallet cardboard from the previous method. Such a pallet comprises a top plate of cardboard cut so as to receive, in fixing on its lower face, support means of complementary shape, and it is characterized in that the said support means consist of a cardboard strip folded so as to form at least two crenellated grooves receiving pads. Advantageously, each groove comprises a height and a width equal to the dimensions of a stud. In addition, each pad is constituted by a cardboard sizing. Preferably, said band comprises at each end side flaps covering each lateral groove, including at least partial overlap of each stud inserted in a lateral groove. Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the following detailed description of non-limiting embodiments of the invention, with reference to the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 represents the lower band intended to form the support means of the pallet according to the invention; and FIGS. 2 and 3 represent two of the steps of the method according to the invention. The present invention therefore relates to the manufacture of a pallet 1, more particularly cardboard material. Such a pallet 1 comprises an upper plate 2 intended to receive in the lower part of the support means 3. More particularly, this plate 2 is cut out of a sheet of cardboard so as to receive in fixing on its lower face 4 said support means 3. On note that the fixing of the plate 2 and the support means 3 can be made particularly but not limited by sizing. Fixation can also be performed by stapling or the like. As can be seen in FIG. 1, the support means 3 are made from a cardboard strip 5 intended to be folded. Once folded, this strip 5 of the support means 3 has a shape complementary to the top plate 2. The folds 6 are made by cutting a portion of the thickness of the strip 5 beforehand. More particularly, these pre-cuts form notches 7 at regular distances from each other, dotted. The folds 6 are grouped by three or four so that each group forms a groove 8 after folding. To do this, the two lateral grooves 8, located at the two ends of the strip 5, comprise three folds 6, while each groove 8 located in the central portion of said strip 5 comprises four folds 6. These folds 6 extend linearly. and transversely with respect to the strip 5. After folding, they thus form crenellated grooves. These grooves 5 are at least two in number. In the embodiment shown in the figures, the grooves 5 are 3 in number. After the grooves 5 have been folded, studs 9 are inserted therein. Consequently, each groove 5 comprises a height and a width equal to the dimensions of a groove 5. 9. Each pad 9 may advantageously be constituted by a cardboard glue, for example honeycomb. These studs can also be made of another material (wood, plastic, metal). According to the preferred embodiment, several pads 9 of parallelepiped shape are inserted into each groove 5. According to another configuration, each stud 9 may consist of a chevron or spar extending over the entire length of the groove 5. to maintain each stud 9 in its respective groove, the latter can be fixed, as mentioned above. However, said strip 5 comprises at each end lateral cover flaps 10 of each lateral groove, in particular at least partially covering each stud 9 inserted in a lateral groove 5. Each flap 10 is constituted by a projecting tongue along the edge of the groove 5. the band 5. After insertion, each flap 10 is folded over a stud 9.

As such, it will be noted that the upper plate 2 comprises notches 11 cut complementary to the flaps 10 of the support means 3. This configuration is particularly visible in Figure 3 where the flaps 10 and notches 11 have rectangular shapes. However, their shapes may vary depending on the cut made. In addition, a flap 10 may have a length such that it partially overlaps or not the groove 5, and the pad 9. The parts of the pallet 1 according to the invention are advantageously made of cardboard and cardboard of varying thickness, one or more layers. Pallet 1 allows fast assembly by folding, for a lower cost. Its reprocessing is easy, fast and offers optimal recycling. Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples illustrated and described above which may have variants and modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.
