Abstract
Description
The state of the art provides many fluffing devices in which the suction flow, which brings into a reservoir the phlegm closing off each of the nostrils of the baby or child, is generated by the oral suction of a person providing the treatment. The invention relates to devices for blowing comprising, between a mouthpiece fitted to one end of an elastic hose and a nosepiece, a body equipped with: a) connection means with the other end of the hose b) a suction mucus receiving chamber and; c) means preventing the mucus from passing into the pipe and reaching the mouth. Compared with pear nose machines whose loosening after tightening causes a sudden and difficult to control suction force, the oral suction apparatus has the advantage of providing suction which can be controlled by suction. the person performing the treatment. This control is essential because it prevents too much suction from damaging the wall of the nasal cavity. Current baby-flyers only partially satisfy this need for suction control because they are designed to be used interchangeably with children of different ages, for example with infants of infancy and older infants. , with a tip having constant shapes and dimensions, even as the shapes and dimensions of the narinary cavities are different. It follows from this that the frustoconical end portion of the tip, generally designed for a baby, and therefore larger than it should be for an infant, may, by its length, damage the bottom of the infant's nostril cavity and that the inappropriateness of the diametral dimension of a tip designed for an infant and applied to a baby of the second age generates suction losses which increase the duration of treatment and indispose the child. To these drawbacks, consecutive to the maladjustment of the dimensions of the material compared to those of the nostrils to be treated, it is necessary to add that resulting from the suction losses resulting from the suction power which must be used to set in motion the air contained in the body, ie to create a beginning of emptiness in this body by sucking the air it contains. This suction inertia at the nose tip occurs at each new aspiration. For a given suction capacity, specific to the person carrying out the treatment, and with conditions of constant sealing in the apparatus and in the contact of the latter with the nostril, the suction inertia consumes part of the time suction. This part, which is performed at the beginning and can not be controlled, could be assigned to treatment with control of the suction power. The suction losses depend on the internal volume of the entire apparatus, going from one end to the other, but also the braking of the suction flow generated by the means preventing the mucus from passing into the pipe , such as, disposable pad foam, cotton, axial cannula or deflector disposed on the path of the flow before entering the hose. The object of the invention is to provide a multi-age blowing apparatus which can be used under the same conditions and without any risk, for a whole range of ages between two extreme values, corresponding, for example, to infants of the first age and to babies of the second age. age, and which provides, for each child in the age range, the best positioning and sealing conditions in the nostril, and that with components accepting all means of mucus retention, washable or disposable.
For this purpose, in the multi-age blotting apparatus according to the invention, the means for connecting the body with the end of the suction pipe are arranged to form both a connecting member by fitting into the pipe and end piece. the nostril nipple, which is removably attached to the body, is sized for a different age range and is arranged to form externally connection by fitting into the end of the elastic pipe. Thus, the device has two tips each of which can be used as a connection member to the suction pipe and, especially, as a means of engagement in the nostril of a child, each tip being chosen according to the age of the child. 'child. In one embodiment, the terminal frustoconical tenon of the nasal tip for a first age range is different from that for a second age range by at least a lower height.
Thanks to this arrangement, simple and without consequences on the cost price of the device, the same device is multi-age and, for example, can be used, by reversibility, successively to blow an infant, then a older baby, presenting shapes and sizes perfectly adapted to the morphology of the child in both applications and, therefore, without risking injure the infant by the length of the tip and without loss of suction flow , by sealing with the edge of the nostril. Of course, the two ends of the device can be sized to be used with age ranges beyond the baby and for example beyond 3 years. In a preferred embodiment, the body and the tip are cup-shaped vis-à-vis and, when they are assembled, these cups delimit a chamber whose internal volume has a value substantially equal to twice the internal volume of the mouthpiece, plus the value of the volume provided for a mucus retaining filter. Advantageously, the volume of the internal chamber of the body of the apparatus with its two end pieces, excluding the volume provided for the filter, is between 3.5 and 6 cm 3 This construction considerably reduces the internal volume of the apparatus, therefore the quantity of air that must be sucked so that the effects of the suction flow are perceptible on the mucus filling the nostril. As a result, when the apparatus is used, the person performing the blowing operation very quickly perceives the action of the suction flow on the mucus and can therefore control the power of this flow depending on the resistance that It feels, so as not to exceed a threshold painful or damaging to the nasal mucosa According to the embodiments, the apparatus is washable or at least one of its tips is disposable and it can be equipped with various means for retaining phlegm, such as foam pad, cotton pad, retaining chamber surrounding a tubular finger associated or not with a deviating wall. The invention will be better understood from the description which follows with reference to the accompanying drawing showing several embodiments of the blowing apparatus according to the invention. Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a first embodiment of the apparatus; Figures 2, 3 and 4 are longitudinal sectional views and reduced scale showing an embodiment of the components of the apparatus; Figure 5 is a longitudinal sectional view of the apparatus of Figure 1 when its filter is in a position favoring the reception of a larger amount of mucus; Figures 6 to 8 are longitudinal sectional views showing other embodiments of the apparatus; Figure 9 is a sectional view showing an alternative embodiment of the axial tubular finger.
In the various embodiments shown, the apparatus according to the invention comprises, as shown in detail in FIGS. 2 to 4, a nasal nozzle 2, which can be attached to a body 3, equipped with a means 4 for connection to a flexible hose. 5 is elastically deformable, and a mouthpiece 6. The latter has a defined shape to penetrate into the mouth of the person controlling the blowing operation and is integral with a conical portion 6a engaging in the end of the pipe 5. The nostril tip 2 is in the form of a cup comprising a cylindrical section 2a, adapted to fit or be screwed onto the body 3 or in this body, an intermediate portion 2b, frustoconical or hemispherical, and a terminal portion 2c, in form of frustoconical tenon axially traversed by a hole 7, mucus suction. The body 3, of cylindrical and tubular general shape, is adapted to receive, inside its open portion 3a, an inner skirt 8 of the nostril end: 2 and, outside this portion, the cylindrical portion 2a of the nozzle 2. Its cylindrical portion 3a is connected to the connection means 4 for the pipe, either by a hemispherical portion 3b, as shown in FIG. 3, or by a frustoconical portion 3c, shown in FIGS. 5. When the tip 2 is placed on the body 3, it forms with it a chamber C for collecting and storing the sucked mucus. According to the invention, the connection means 4 with the pipe 5, are constituted by a frustoconical terminal pin 9 which is arranged to form also nasal tip, while the terminal pin 2c of the usual tip 2 is arranged to also form connection with the pipe.
For this purpose, and as shown on an enlarged scale in the embodiment of FIG. 1, the frustoconical terminal posts 2c and 9 of the endpiece 2 and of the body 3 have the same taper, but have, respectively, heights h and H different. In the embodiment shown, they also have diameters dm and dM of the axial hole 7 and 10 and diameters Dm and DM of the zone Z that can come into contact with the periphery of the nostril, which are different and defined in relation to the mean dimensions of the nostril of the targeted age range.
With this arrangement, the same device can, in time, be used first with an infant and then, when it grows older and has larger nostrils, be used again after turning the body of the baby. apparatus for presenting a tip of larger and appropriate dimensions. This reversibility may also involve later age ranges of childhood and even see it between childhood and adolescence or maturity. It can be combined with the replacement of the tip by another reportable tip, selected from a series of different sized tips, giving the device to blow a multi-age vocation. In an alternative embodiment, it is the body which has the terminal post of larger dimensions and the end piece of smaller dimensions. Figures 1, 5 and 6 show the same apparatus in various positions and applications. In this embodiment, the tip 2 and the body 3 comprise, each and internally, longitudinal ribs, respectively 12 and 13, spaced angularly and whose ends determine the limits of the positioning space of the stop means mucus, such as porous foam pad 14, piece of cotton 15. FIGS. 1 and 5 show that this space is larger than buffer 14 of value J, which, according to the longitudinal positioning of the pad in this space, to obtain: - as shown in Figure 1, a mucus storage volume of value V1, corresponding to the internal volume of the nozzle 2, or - as in Figure 5 where the buffer is moved backwards, a larger storage volume of the mucus, because of value VI + VJ, expression in which VJ corresponds to the volume defined in the body by the height of J. The variation of the volume of storage is sufficient to absorb a strong mucus production and a increase in volu mucus that can be produced between an infant and a baby, but may be insufficient during the growth of the child and to collect the mucus of an older adult. Therefore, in the embodiment shown in Figure 6, the covering of the cylindrical portion 3a of the body 3 by the cylindrical portion 2a of the nozzle 2 is made over a length T greater than that t to Figure 5, and allows, by sliding the nozzle 2 on the body 3, to increase the volume C of the reception chamber and storage of mucus.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 7, the terminal post 9 of the body 33 is extended inside the body by a tubular finger 31 forming part of stop means and retaining the mucus. The portion of the body surrounding the finger 31 forms therewith a peripheral chamber 38 for storing mucus. In practice, it is the height of the finger 31 which ensures the absence of penetration of the mucus in its tubular portion and in the pipe 5 elastically engaging the stud 9. The body 33 can be mounted with a standard nozzle 2 or with a special tip 102, having, as shown in phantom, a tubular finger 31a, similar to the tubular finger 31 and performing the same functions as it when the body is turned over. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 8, the body has a deflecting structure which prevents the mucus entering the apparatus through the axial suction hole 7 from falling directly into the axial channel 32 of the tubular finger 31, or 31a, and from there to pass in the pipe 5. This deviating structure may have different shapes, and for example be constituted by a wall which, integral with the body 33 or the tip 2, is disposed in the path of the suction flow, upstream of the finger 31 or 31a, or the axial hole 10 or 7. As shown in Figure 8, it may also be constituted by a cup 40 which, bell-shaped covering the tubular finger 31 or 31a, is integral with a tubular axial hub 42 fitting on the end of this finger. The wall of the hub 42 comprises at least one slot 43 placing the inside of the body of the apparatus in communication with the suction pipe 5. The cup 40 delimits, with the body 33 and the skirt 8 of the nozzle, an annular space 41 allowing the suction flow to pass and forcing the mucus to fall into the storage chamber 38. If the nozzle 2 mounted on the body 33 is equipped with a tubular finger 31a, the same cup 40 is removable for 30 can be mounted on the finger 31 or 31a, to ensure the deviating function in each of the reversible positions of the device. In the embodiment of FIG. 9, the tubular finger 131 is slidably mounted longitudinally in the end pin 120c of the nozzle 120 and, for example, is provided with an external thread 103 through which it screws into the threaded axial hole 107 of the mouthpiece. It allows: - to adapt to the depth of the nostril of the subject to blow the height of the protrusion that finger 131 forms on the outside, - or to adjust the height of the projection formed inside the l apparatus, a projection, after reversal of the apparatus, the mucus storage capacity in the chamber 138. Finally, and in an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the body 3 or 33 and the tip 2, 102 or 120 are cup-shaped vis-à-vis and which, when assembled, as shown in Figure 7, have a useful volume VU equal to twice the internal volume VI of the tip, plus the value of the volume provided for the storage of mucus for a total value of between 3.5 and 6 cubic centimeters, which allows it to accommodate between 3.5 and 6 milliliters of mucus. It should be noted here that in a blowing device, the volume of air that must be sucked up and set in motion before generating the suction flow removing the mucus, comprises the internal volume of the body and the nostril tip, the internal volume of the hose and that of the mouthpiece. If it is found that: - the pipe 5 is chosen with an internal channel having the smallest diameter allowing it to fit on the tenons of the end pieces and the body and a defined length, of the order of 12 to 20 centimeters, to distance the mouth of the child's face without being too long, - the mouthpiece can not have very small dimensions to be held sufficiently by the lips, - the nosepiece which makes the transition between the nostril and the body of the apparatus necessarily has dimensions in relation to those transverse of the nostril and the body of the apparatus between which it makes the transition, the only volume which can be arranged to reduce the inertia to the aspiration is that of the body, under still reserves that this reduction allows to enter it manually. The arrangements according to the invention make it possible to obtain a good compromise between the reduction in the overall volume and the length / length ratio of the body / diameter, of the order of 60/20, favoring its manual gripping, both by a woman and by a man. It follows from the foregoing that the blowing device according to the invention has many advantages including: - compactness, - good grip, - reversibility conferring a multi-age use, - adaptability to the desires of the user who can l use with washable and recoverable tips or with disposable tips, but also with different means to stop the mucus, plus the reduction of the internal volume, promoting the reduction of 5 inertia at the beginning of aspiration, improving the control of the aspiration, reducing the time of the operation and the subsequent apprehension of the child.
