Paire de skisPair of skis
The present invention relates to a pair of skis for the practice of winter sports, in particular for the practice of alpine skiing. More specifically, the present invention relates to a ski particularly suitable for practice of new snow sliding activities, such as freeride. Freeride is a free and varied practice of the mountain. The practitioner descends the slopes on the slopes or off the slopes in any type of snow such as powdery snow.
Ski pairs for alpine skiing, particularly for freeriding, are widely known in the prior art. In general, a freeride type ski is substantially wider than a ski simply intended to be used on a groomed track. Like any ski, it breaks down into several portions. The central area is called skate and it is on this area that we position the ski bindings. The front end of the ski is called a spatula. The spatula is a raised area of the ski. Between the spatula and the skate is an area called front intermediate zone. The rear end is the heel. Between the heel and the skate is the rear intermediate zone. When skiing in powdery snow, the risk is that the intermediate area before skiing, passes under the snow. This has the effect of increasing the front of the ski and impede driving. The present invention aims to improve the behavior of skis in the powder. The present invention also aims to improve the behavior of skis in a freeride practice.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a ski for which the phenomenon of passage under the snow of the intermediate intermediate zone does not occur. Finally, the present invention aims to provide a ski with snow deflecting means, and without modification of the mechanical characteristics of the ski compared to a similar ski, that is to say which would have the same coastlines and which would be built with the same materials, but which, on the other hand, would not have these deflector means. In particular, the objective is that the presence of the deflectors does not change the technical characteristics of bending and torsion. The foregoing goals and objectives are achieved by providing a pair of skis comprising two skis, each of said skis having a lower subassembly, an upper subassembly and an intermediate hub placed between said lower subset and said sub-assembly. upper assembly, said upper subassembly comprising a longitudinal reinforcement and a decorative layer, characterized in that said upper subassembly further comprises two shims placed on each side of the ski in the front part thereof between said upper reinforcement and said decorative layer.
Preferably said wedges are placed in the intermediate intermediate area of the ski, that is to say between the pad and the spatula. Preferably, the ski has a longitudinal plane of symmetry and the two wedges have symmetrical positions, relative to each other, with respect to this longitudinal plane.
Preferably, said wedges have a variable thickness and a variable width. In a preferred embodiment, the thickness of said shims varies between 0 and 6 mm. In a preferred embodiment, the width of said shims varies between 5 and 11 mm. Preferably, said shims have a length of between 300 and 650 mm. In a preferred embodiment, said shims have a length of about 500 mm. When using the pair of skis according to the invention, the phenomenon of passage under the snow of the intermediate intermediate zone does not occur. Indeed, the two shims placed on the front intermediate zone act as snow deflectors. On the other hand, the arrangement of the wedges, above the upper reinforcement has the effect that said wedges have a very limited effect on the mechanical characteristics of the ski, including torsion and bending. The invention will be better understood on reading the description attached to the drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a pair of skis according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a top view of a ski according to the invention. Figure 3 is a side view of the ski of Figure 2. Figures 4, 5 and 6 are sectional views of the ski described in Figures 2 and 3. Figure 7 is a perspective view of the shim. Figure 1 depicts a perspective view of a pair of skis according to the invention. This includes two skis 2. Each skis is equipped with a fixing device 3 for fixing the shoe of the user. Figure 2 is a top view of one of the skis of the pair of skis described in Figure 1. The ski has five distinct areas. The skate 4 is the central area of the ski. This is the area in which the fixing device will be fixed. At the rear end of the ski is the heel 6. It can be straight and have a raised portion, it is called twin-tip ski. Between the heel area and the pad zone is the rear intermediate zone 8. At the front end of the ski is the spatula 5. Between the spatula 5 and the pad 4 is the intermediate zone before 7. FIG. 3 describes a longitudinal sectional view of the ski described in Figure 1. Note however that it is a schematic section and that the various elements constituting the ski are not shown on this section. Figures 4, 5 and 6 are cross sections of the ski described in Figures 2 and 3 which show the main components of the ski. On each of these cuts the lower subassembly 9 comprises a gliding sole 10, a lower reinforcement 12 and edges 11. The upper subassembly 14 comprises an upper reinforcement 15 and a decorative layer 16. Between the subassembly upper 14 and the lower subassembly 9 is interposed the core 13. Figure 6 in particular is a section made in the area of the pad. Skiing in this area has a construction quite conventional and already known in the prior art. Figures 4 and 5 are cross-sectional views taken at two distinct locations in the forward intermediate zone. In the intermediate intermediate zone 7, the upper subassembly 14 comprises two wedges 17 which are interposed between the upper reinforcement 15 and the decorative layer 16. One of these wedges 17 is placed on the left lateral side of the ski while the other of these wedges 17 is placed on the right lateral side of the ski. The two wedges 17 are symmetrical with respect to each other with respect to the longitudinal plane of the ski. The wedge 17 comprises an upper face 22, a lower face 23, an inner face 21 and an outer face 25. The lower face 23 is placed on the upper reinforcement 15. The outer face 25 is oriented so that it is located in the extension of the songs of the ski. The upper face is substantially flat. As can be seen in FIG. 3, when the shims 17 are in place, the upper surface of the baffles is substantially horizontal and almost in alignment with the upper surface of the ski at the pad region 4. FIG. a perspective view of the wedge 17. The wedge 17 has substantially the shape of a pod, that is to say, an elongated body having in its central part a more bulging portion while each of its ends are finer. In elevation, that is to say in a vertical direction, the ends of the hold diminish to become negligible. Thus, the presence of the wedge 17 between the upper reinforcement 15 and the decorative layer 16 very little modifies the behavior of the ski.
It can be seen that the upper face 22 has a variable width which is approximately equal to 5 mm at each of its ends and which passes through the center of the hold by a maximum substantially equal to 11 mm. Figure 6 is a cross section of the ski made where the wedge 17 has its maximum width. The outer face 25 and the inner face 21 also have a variable height.
This height has a maximum in the center of the wedge which is substantially equal to 5 mm. At both ends of the wedge 17, the height thereof diminishes to become negligible. Of course, the dimensions given here are only by way of example. The comparison of the three figures 4, 5 and 6 shows that the core 13 has a variable thickness along the ski. In the center in the area of the pad the core has its maximum thickness and the closer we get to the ends, the more this thickness decreases. Since the wedge 17 has a variable thickness it can be seen that the total thickness of the ski, that is to say the thickness determined by the thickness of the core 13 and that of the wedges 17 is almost constant over the three sections 4, 5 and 6.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described here by way of example, but also includes any equivalent embodiment.
