Vehicle windshield equipped with an electrical harness.
The present invention relates to a windshield of a vehicle equipped with a harness, a vehicle comprising such a windshield, and a method of assembling such a windshield on a vehicle. A vehicle windshield is often equipped with various devices, such as, for example, a rain sensor, a light sensor, an interior mirror or the like. These devices must be connected to the vehicle's electrical network. For this purpose, there is known a passenger electrical harness which is stapled from the lower part of the bay upright (lower part of the windshield), to the vehicle upper body axis, (middle of the roof) .This beam travels in the vehicle interior part, along the vertical bay amount and under the flag along the cross to the vehicle axis. The line operator works arms in the air and connects the passenger compartment beam on the devices concerned. An example of such a connection is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 2 shows a windshield 1 comprising a roof crossmember 2 on which is disposed a rain sensor 3. The passenger compartment beam which runs along the upper edge 6 the bay arrives to a lighting device 4 disposed at the edge of the windshield 1. The connection between the rain sensor 3 and the main beam is effected after setting up a secondary beam 5 between said sensor rain 3 and the main beam. Figure 1 shows an assembly station 10 of a windshield of the state of the art. The line operator 12 is outside the vehicle 11 and must staple the electrical harness along the vertical upright 13 and the upper edge 6 of the bay. After installation of the windshield, the line operator 12 must connect each secondary beam in the middle of the windshield. Such assembly operations are very difficult to perform because the operator is far from the middle of the windshield and must work with the arms in the air. Also known is the patent application FR-A-2 700 422 which discloses a glazing crossed by heating son which are connected to strips of copper foil. Such glazing can not be used as windshield due to the presence of heating son in the field of view of the driver. The invention aims to overcome the drawbacks mentioned above by providing a windshield that improves the working conditions of the line operator by facilitating the work of setting up the windshield electrical harnesses and to reduce the assembly time.
For this purpose, the present invention relates to a windshield on which is produced a printed circuit type electrical harness extending from the base of the windshield, to the middle of the upper edge of the windshield along its edge lateral and its horizontal upper edge. Advantageously, the harness is concealed behind a screen printing running around the windshield. Advantageously, the end of the electrical harness located at the base of the windshield is extended by a cable intended to connect to the general beam of the vehicle. According to a particular embodiment, the electrical harness is formed on the face of the windshield 35 facing the interior of the passenger compartment.
According to another particular embodiment, when the windshield is a composite windshield, the electrical harness is made on the PVB sheet or on the face of one of the glass sheets in contact with the PVB sheet. The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising a windshield according to one of the preceding variants. The invention also relates to a method of assembling a windshield on a vehicle comprising: a step of supplying a windshield on which a printed circuit-type electrical harness is made, a step of preparing the windshield -brise outside 15 of the production line of the vehicle, - a step of fixing the windshield thus prepared on the vehicle, and - a step of connecting said harness to the general beam of the vehicle. The invention will be better understood, and other objects, features, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the following explanatory description, with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings given by way of example only. 25 illustrating an embodiment of the invention and in which: - Figure 1 shows a workstation for mounting a windshield of the prior art, - Figure 2 shows an example of assembly of The state of the art, and - Figure 3 is a windshield according to the invention. Figure 3 shows a windshield 15 in the position it occupies once fixed in the vehicle bay. Under the windshield 15 and near its upper edge 35 and in the middle are fixed a connection box 19 and various electrically controlled devices, such as, for example, a mirror 16 and a rain sensor 17. The connection box 19 allows energy to be distributed to the various devices by appropriate wiring. Along the edge of the windshield 15 is formed a printed wiring harness 18 which extends from the base of the windshield 15 to the middle of the upper edge of the windshield 15 along its rising edge and its horizontal upper edge. The embodiment of the electrical harness 18 uses, for example, the method used to produce the heating son of the vehicle rear windows. The end of the electrical harness 18 which is in the middle of the upper edge of the windshield 15 is connected to the connection box 19 and the other end is connected to a connection beam 21 in the form of a cable which ends by a connector 20 which can be connected to the general beam of the vehicle. The term "base", the lower part of the windshield 15, may be a lower corner as shown in Figure 1 or the middle of the lower edge. The position of the end of the base depends on where the connector 20 connects to the general beam of the vehicle. The connecting beam 21 is generally arranged at the level of the grille of the awning of the vehicle. A method of assembling such a windshield 15 on a vehicle prevents the line operator from working in difficult positions. Indeed, the method comprises: a step of supplying a windshield 15 on which is made a beam 18 of the printed circuit type, - a step of preparing the windshield 15 outside the production line of the vehicle , during which a line operator fixes the connection box 19 and connects it to the harness 18, and the electrical control devices 16 and 17 and connects them to the connection box 19, a step of fixing the windshield 15 as well as prepared on the vehicle, and a step of connecting said electric beam 18 to the general beam of the vehicle by connecting the plug 20.
The line operator can therefore prepare the windshield 15 outside the vehicle assembly line and the preparation operation can be performed at a suitable position. The quality of work is thus improved. The windshield 15 carrying the connection box 19 and the electrically operated devices 16 and 17 may be handled as a unit when mounting the windshield 15 to the vehicle. In addition, it is no longer necessary to route and staple the beam on the vehicle as provided in the state of the art.
To prevent the beam 18 from being subjected to external weather, it is preferably produced under the windshield 15, that is to say on the face of the windshield 15 which is oriented towards the interior of the passenger compartment . For the same reasons, in the case of a composite windshield formed by two sheets of glass connected by a sheet of PVB (polyvinyl butyral), the beam 18 can be made on the PVB sheet or on the face of the glass. one of the glass sheets in contact with the PVB sheet.
To prevent the beam 18 from being visible and reducing the field of view of the driver, the beam 18 runs along the lateral edge and the upper edge of the windshield 15 and is hidden behind a screen printing 22 which runs around the perimeter of the windshield. 15. In fact, only the portion of the beam 18 which extends from the upper edge of the windshield 15 to the connection box 19 may not be hidden by the screen printing 22, this depending on the position of the connection box 19 with respect to said screen printing 22.
