The invention relates to an intake device for a motor vehicle engine.
The invention more particularly relates to an intake device for a motor vehicle engine, of the type which comprises at least one cylinder head comprising at least one main air intake duct opening into a combustion chamber via a combustion chamber. at least one associated valve, said device comprising cold start fuel conditioning means. Numerous examples of devices of this type are known. Such devices are intended to remedy the pollution problems encountered by the thermal engines during their cold start. Indeed, in a conventional combustion engine, the injected fuel and the intake air during the cold start are introduced into the combustion chamber at room temperature. This results in a bad vaporization of the fuel, essentially, which results in a wetting phenomenon of the walls of the combustion chamber. This prevents homogeneous combustion of the mixture on the one hand, and generates the production of fuel vapor after combustion on the other hand. This implies high emissions of pollutants, mainly unburned hydrocarbons, during the first minutes of operation of the engine. Various technical solutions have heretofore been proposed to overcome this disadvantage with the aim of introducing into the combustion chamber a homogeneous mixture of air and vaporized fuel. JP-7119587 discloses and shows an intake device in which the intake air is derived from the main inlet duct 2 to a chamber in which it is heated at a specific injector. However, the air is heated only in the vicinity of the injector and the mixture is only imperfectly heated. In fact, liquid phase fuel remains in the mixture. Document FR-A-2,706,184 describes and shows a device comprising a heating element, placed in the main intake duct, on which the fuel is sprayed by an injector. The air is heated only in the vicinity of the heating element and the mixture is only imperfectly reheated. As a result, liquid phase fuel also remains in the mixture. FR-A-2.880.075 discloses and shows a device in which the walls of the main intake duct 15 are heated with a sodium acetate solution. The mixture circulating in the central part of the main intake duct is imperfectly vaporized and still has liquid phase fuel. GB-A-2,281,101 discloses and shows a device in which an injector delivers fuel into a heated cavity supplied with pressurized air. Heating the mixture depends largely on the distribution of the mixture in the cavity, and this distribution is not controlled, so that liquid phase fuel remains in the mixture. In order to overcome these drawbacks, the invention proposes a device of the type described above, in which the cold start intake gas preparation means comprise means for heating and swirling the fuel mixture, capable of favoring the Production of a fuel mixture no longer comprising liquid phase fuel. For this purpose, the invention proposes a device of the type described above, characterized in that the cold start intake gas preparation means comprise at least: an upstream means of intake air sampling in the main air intake duct - a means for introducing air into an associated preparation chamber, and - a fuel injection means in the preparation chamber intended to obtain a mixture of air and air. fuel, a means for vortex mixing the mixture, and a means for reheating the mixture, and a downstream means for reintroducing the mixture into the intake duct. According to other characteristics of the invention, the upstream intake air sampling means comprises a first upstream sampling duct which communicates with the main air intake duct and a downstream shutter duct of the first duct. main intake air duct, - the introduction means in the preparation chamber 20 comprises at least a second upstream duct, a first end communicates with the first upstream duct air intake and a second end opens into the cylindrical preparation chamber; the fuel injection means comprises at least one injector, a fuel spray nozzle of which opens into the preparation chamber for mixing the fuel with the air admitted into the preparation chamber. the vortex mixing means of the mixture comprises a cylindrical preparation chamber and two second upstream pipes whose first ends communicate with the first upstream air sampling duct and whose second ends open tangentially into the cylindrical chamber prepared by means of diametrically opposed orifices for causing a vortex flow for mixing the mixture, the heating means of the mixture comprises at least one internal heating wall of the preparation chamber, the inner heating wall is arranged along the entire inner periphery of the cylindrical chamber and on an end wall of the cylindrical chamber opposite an end wall receiving the injector and it comprises at least one electrical resistance, the downstream means for reintroducing the mixture into the intake duct comprises a downstream duct reintroduced ction which communicates with the preparation chamber and with the main duct of air intake downstream of the intake air intake upstream means, 15 - the downstream air reintroduction duct opens tangentially into the cylindrical chamber of preparation in the direction of vortex flow. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the detailed description which follows for the understanding of which reference will be made to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a detail sectional view of a cylinder head comprising a feeding device according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a sectional view through plane 2-2 of FIG. 1 of the preparation chamber; - Figure 3 is a sectional view through the plane 3-3 of Figure 1 of the preparation chamber. In the following description, like reference numerals designate like or similar parts. FIG. 1 shows an intake device 10 for a motor vehicle heat engine (not shown).
In known manner, the device 10 comprises at least one yoke 12 comprising at least one main air inlet duct 14 opening into a combustion chamber 16 via at least one valve 18 5 associated. The combustion chamber 16 is for example called "direct injection" and receives a main injector 20. In known manner, the device 10 comprises means 22 for preparing gas "G" intake during cold start. In accordance with the invention, the means 22 for preparing the cold start intake gas comprise at least: an upstream intake air sampling means 24 in the main air intake duct 14, a means 26 for introducing air into an associated preparation chamber 28; means 30 for injecting fuel into the preparation chamber 28 intended to obtain a mixture of air and fuel; 32 for swirling the mixture, and - a means 34 for heating the mixture, and 20 - a downstream means 36 for reintroducing the mixture into the intake duct 14. More particularly, the upstream means 24 for withdrawing the mixture intake comprises a first duct 38 upstream sampling that communicates with the main duct 14 25 of air intake and a downstream shutter 40 of the shutter of the first main duct 14 of air intake. The means 24 therefore has the function of deflecting at least a portion, or all, of the intake air admitted into the main duct 14 intake. The introduction means 26 in the preparation chamber 28 comprises at least a second upstream duct 26, a first end 42 of which communicates with the first upstream air intake duct 38 and a second end 44 of which opens into the cylindrical chamber 28. of preparation.
To enable a fuel mixture to be obtained, the injection means 30 consists of at least one injector 30, a nozzle 45 of which sprays fuel into the preparation chamber 28 for mixing the fuel with the intake air. in the preparation chamber 28. In order to allow mixing of the carbureted mixture thus produced, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, the vortex mixing means 32 of the mixture comprises a cylindrical preparation chamber 28 and two second 26 upstream ducts whose first ends 42 communicate with each other. with the first duct 38 upstream of air sampling and whose second ends 44 open tangentially into the cylindrical chamber 28 preparation through orifices 46 diametrically opposed to cause a swirling flow "T" for mixing of the mixture. This stirring of the mixture, combined with the means 34 for heating the mixture, makes it possible to produce a uniform fuel mixture both in terms of density and temperature. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the means 34 for heating the mixture comprises at least one internal heating wall 48 of the preparation chamber 28. The vortex flow "T" of the mixture is thus advantageous in that it allows the mixture to come lick the internal heating wall 48 of the preparation chamber, thereby promoting heat exchange between said heating wall 48 and the fuel mixture. Preferably, the inner heating wall 48 is arranged along the entire inner periphery 50 of the cylindrical chamber 28 and on an end wall 52 of the cylindrical chamber 28 30 opposite an end wall 54 receiving the injector 30. All Embodiment known from the state of the art may be suitable for the proper implementation of the inner wall 48 7 heating, but preferably it will include at least one electrical resistance. Furthermore, the downstream means 36 for reintroducing the mixture into the intake duct 14 comprises a downstream reintroduction duct 36 which communicates with the preparation chamber 28 and with the main duct 14 for the intake of air downstream of the upstream means. 24 intake air intake. Preferably, the downstream duct 36 for reintroducing air opens tangentially into the cylindrical chamber 28 of the preparation in the direction of the vortex flow, to allow homogenization of the fuel mixture. It will be understood that the upstream intake air sampling means and the injector 30 will preferably be implemented during the starting phases of the associated engine so as to provide, at the first operating cycles, an optimum fuel mixture. then the upstream intake air sampling means 24 and the injector 30 will be put out of service as soon as the main intake duct and the cylinder head 12 have reached a sufficient temperature to make possible the use of the intake air. the main injector 20. This design is applicable to all types of fuel injection engine, whether direct injection engines of the type shown in the figures, or injection engine indirect (not shown) having an injector external to the combustion chamber 16. The invention thus greatly reduces the pollution of a heat engine in these startup cycles.
