La paroi intérieure du fond d'aspiration délimite une ouïe d'aspiration. La paroi extérieure du fond d'aspiration délimite une zone d'alimentation. Une première partie du bord inférieur libre de la paroi extérieure est à un niveau plus bas que le bord inférieur libre de la paroi intérieure. Pour faciliter le pompage des flottants, mousse et autres graisses qui restent en surface d'une suspension à pomper, il est déjà connu d'incliner un groupe motopompe de ce type. Pour l'incliner, il est prévu un pied d'assise à griffe d'adaptation inclinée. La griffe d'un pied d'assise de ce genre est plus lourde qu'une griffe normale et surtout plus difficile à fabriquer. On peut aussi prévoir pour l'inclinaison que le pied d'assise ait une face d'appui inclinée, mais on perd alors la possibilité de monter le groupe motopompe verticalement, avec les avantages de symétrie d'aspiration et d'aspiration plus bas dans le puisard.
