Abstract
Description
-1--1-
-2- The present invention relates to an edible inhalation device. Current inhalers are composed of inedible materials that generate many residues after use. The edible inhaler device overcomes this disadvantage while allowing quality inhalation. This device is in the form of a hollow cylinder made from a food mixture hardened by cooking or by any other dehydration process, within which is deposited the product to be inhaled. The product to be inhaled will preferably be used in the form of powder, deposited on all or part of the inner walls of the tube, with a distribution as homogeneous as possible. The length of the edible inhaler may vary depending on the desired application, in order to modulate the inspiratory flow as needed. The inner and outer diameter of the edible inhaler may vary depending on the desired application. The shape of the inner duct may vary to accommodate the desired respiratory flow depending on the application. A food pellet can be used to occlude each end of the tube to prevent leakage of the inhaled product, in which configuration the user will need to remove or puncture the food pellets prior to using the edible inhaler. A food sheet can also cover the inhaler as a whole to ensure the closure of the tube, avoid loss and improve the aesthetics of the product. The operation of the edible inhaler is related to inspiration. The powder or aroma deposited on the inner walls is delivered into the airway as the consumer inhales through one end of the tube. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: Figure 1 shows a perspective view. Figure 2 shows a side view. Figure 3 shows a sectional view. With reference to these drawings the structure of the edible inhaler (1) is obtained from a food dough composed of one or more ingredients. By way of nonlimiting example, a mixture of dehydrated fruit, flour and egg can be used, in order to obtain relevant physical and taste characteristics. The general shape is that of a tube, cylinder perforated along its entire length (2). The products to be inhaled are deposited on the inner walls of the tube (3). A food sheet may cover the outer portion of the tube and, if necessary, its ends. -2-
By way of non-limiting example, the edible inhaler will have dimensions of 9 millimeters in diameter for a length of 90 millimeters. The invention is proposed as a first application to help smokers who want to reduce or stop their smoking.
This invention makes it possible to satisfy several needs of the smoker in order to minimize the withdrawal syndrome often felt during smoking cessation. The tube-shaped edible inhaler helps to satisfy gestural habits, manual manipulation, stimulation of the lips and mouth, inspiratory mobilization, aromatic satisfaction of the product to be inhaled, and at the end of the inhaler's use, taste satisfaction related to the oral consumption of the inhaler. The edible inhaler is low in calories to avoid weight gain during smoking cessation. The edible inhaler can be declined in the form of scales including in its composition different types of dehydrated fruits and different aromas to inhale. The invention is proposed as a second application to satisfy the inhalation of active products for medical purposes.
