Abstract

The device has a front float (1) stacked in a body (2), and a mechanical case (3) screwed below the body. The case has pedals and an angular member for driving a propeller shaft. A user rests his head or chest on the float, and the body has a lower part including a housing to receive the case. A propeller (4) is fixed on the shaft. A kort nozzle (5) is connected to the body, and surrounds the propeller.

Description

1 La présente invention concerne un dispositif pour avancer dans l'eau àThe present invention relates to a device for advancing in water to

45 50 55 60  flat stomach, easily, quickly and by means of moderate muscular effort. Many current devices use either muscle strength, such as flippers for example, or external sources of energy, such as underwater scooters with electric or thermal propellers. If similar devices exist in different forms, they do not allow a simple, easy and efficient use as the present invention whose forms, ergonomics, equilibrium in water and stability allow. The present invention has an innovative character because it is here to use with ease in the water the pedaling movement mechanically driving a propeller. This movement is doubly effective because of its ergonomics and power. The user moves quickly and effortlessly with a choice of head in or out of the water. Once the device in the water, on the surface of which it floats, the user lies flat on his stomach, chest or head on the front float and feet on the pedals. To increase the efficiency, the ergonomics and the technique of the apparatus have been optimized, so that the pedaling position is comfortable and that the device solid, that is to say able to withstand in particular the efforts of torsion resulting from the pedaling movement, and stable, because otherwise the movements of the body or the rotational torque of the propeller tend to overturn the device. Stability is enhanced by the distribution of masses and floating parts. The performance results from technical choices on the propeller, the speed of rotation and the use of a nozzle, Kort type nozzle, eliminating the edge effect. The apparatus consists mainly of five parts: 1. The float (1) before which the user comes to rest his head or chest. It is adjustable in length by slotting more or less deeply into the handle of the body of the device to adapt to different morphologies. 2. The body of the apparatus (2) in which fits the front float, which has a sealed float in its upper part, and a hollow housing in its lower part to receive the mechanical part. 3. The mechanical housing (3) which includes the pedals, and a bevel gear that drives the propeller shaft. It is screwed under the body of the device. 4. The propeller (4) attached to the propeller shaft. 5. The nozzle (5) integral with the body and which surrounds the propeller. The apparatus of the invention is particularly intended for the practice of water sports and beach. 45 50 55 60
