Abstract

The strap (1) has outer bands (120, 130) with respective ends sliding on ends of a central band (110) that is different from the outer bands. The ends of the outer bands respectively have slides (123, 133) in which the central band passes and slides. Another central band (140) is different from the bands, and has a unit for fixing the ends of the outer bands on the former central band. The ends of the outer bands are arranged between the central bands. The latter central band has decors and strips with fixation units formed of Velcro(RTM: hook and loop fastener) type tape.

Description

CetteThe invention relates to a strap adjustable in length. This

The strap can be used especially as a dog collar, as a belt or as a strap to hold a closed suitcase. In the simplest embodiment of the invention, shown in Figures la and lb, the strap (1) consists essentially of two strips (10, 20) sliding on ~ o the other. The outer end (11, 21) of each band (10, 20) is provided with a conventional closure means, such as a belt buckle. These two ends (11, 21) can thus be closed one on the other in a conventional manner to form a dog collar or a belt for example. The two strips (10, 20) are joined by a slide (30) which, in the open position, allows the two strips (10, 20) to slide freely relative to one another and which, on the other hand, closed position, firmly locks these two strips (10, 20) so that they can no longer slide. For reasons of convenience, and to prevent the inner ends (12, 22) from hanging freely, it is in fact preferable to provide a slide (30) at each of these inner ends (12, 22), one of which at least allows to block the strips (10, 20) relative to each other (Figures 2a and 2b).

In a second embodiment, the strap (2) of FIGS. 3a and 3b consists of two outer strips (110, 110 ') each slidable with respect to a common central strip (120). Two slides (130, 130 ') make it possible to block each of the outer strips (110, 110') on the central strip (120). Here again, it is preferable, as shown in FIGS. 4a and 4b, to provide slides (130, 130 ') at each end (121, 121') of the central strip (120) and slides (131, 131). ') at the inner ends (112, 112') of the outer strips (110, 110 '), at least two of these slides (130/130' or 131/131 ') to have a locking function.

In a variant of the second embodiment visible in FIGS. 5a and 5b, the central band (120) is doubled by a second central band (140). In this embodiment, the slides (131, 131 ') at the inner ends (111, 111') of the outer strips (110, 110 ') are designed to lock the first central band (120) with respect to these two outer bands (110, 110 '). The slides (130, 130 ') are attached not only to the ends of the first central band (120) but also to the ends of the second central band (140). They do not need to block the outer strips (110, 110 ') which are already blocked by the slides (131, 131'). Thus, the inner ends (111, 111 ') of the two outer bands (110, 110') slide on the first central band (120) while being sandwiched between this first central band (120) and the second central band ( 140). The advantage of this solution lies in the fact that the second central band (140), directed outwards in use, can be provided with patterns that will never be hidden, regardless of the adjustment of the length of the the strap (3). In addition, this second central strip (140) conceals the slides (131, 131 ') which fulfill the blocking function. This second central band (140) has only an aesthetic effect and therefore does not need to be as strong as the first central band (120) and the two outer bands (110, 110 ') which will have to withstand the traction (of the dog, the suitcase, etc.) via the blocking slides (131, 131 ').

The slides may have different shapes depending on whether they are to be used solely for guiding the sliding strips relative to one another or whether they must also ensure the locking of these strips. For simple slides, such as the slides (130, 130 ') of Figures 4 and 5, just take for example a simple loop sewn on the ends of the central strips (120, 140).

Les deux bandes (110, 120) sont alors bloquées l'une par rapport à l'autre.FIGS. 6a and 6b show an example of a locking slide, such as the slide (131 ') of FIG. 5. The end of one of the strips, for example the strip (110') of FIG. a perforation (113). The slide consists of a first plate (132) having a corresponding perforation (133), preferably provided with a central edge (134), and having folded edges on three of its sides. The end (1112 ') of the strip (110') is placed in this plate (132) by passing the central edge (134) of its perforation (133) in the perforation (113) of the strip (110 ') . The assembly is secured, for example by face or riveting (135). The slide (131 ') also comprises a second plate (136) pivotable relative to the first (132). This second plate (136) is provided with a projecting element (137). The band to be blocked, for example the band (120) of Figure 4, is provided with a plurality of perforations (123) similar to that (113) of the strip (110 ') integral with the first plate (132). When the second plate (136) is in the open position (FIG. 6a), the band to be blocked (120) can slide freely in the slide (131 '). On the other hand, when the band to be blocked (120) is placed so that one of its perforations (123) is aligned with the perforation (113) of the band (110) and the perforation 2908608 (133) of the first plate, it is possible to tilt the second plate (136) to penetrate the projecting portion (137) in this perforation suite (113, 12: 3, 133). The two bands (110, 120) are then locked relative to each other.

Rather than rivet or screw band (110) on the first plate (132), it is also possible to provide a first plate whose cross section is U (Figure 7b), the ends of the branches of the U being provided with teeth, such that in the closed position, these teeth ensure the fixing of the U-shaped plate on the strip (110). ~ o The perforations (113, 123, 133) may be rectangular (Figure 7a) or round (Figure 7c) according to the tensile strength to be supported. The advantage of this strap lies in the fact that it is not necessary to fold down one end to allow adjustment of the length. This avoids the extra thicknesses and embrittlement of the material at the fold. If the strap is leather, folding at the flap may be difficult to obtain and then remove after a period of use to adjust the length. Here, simply open the blocking slide (s) to allow the different bands to slide relative to each other.
