Description

1 L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant la mise sous pression deThe invention relates to a device allowing the pressurization of

la cuve d'un pulvérisateur manuel par raccordement à une source externe d'air comprimé.  the tank of a manual sprayer by connection to an external source of compressed air.

It is known to use, for small periodic spraying of vegetation treatment products, and especially shrub hedges delimiting certain private properties, manual sprayers comprising a tank intended to be pressurized via a piston hand pump, prior to spraying operations, to have sufficient capacity for routine treatment work. However, it is common to have to put several times the tank of the device under pressure to perform all of a treatment operation: this is the case, for example, for a hedge of privet may be a length of several tens meters, whose complete treatment is grueling. The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages. This invention, as it is characterized, solves the problem of providing the tank with a manual sprayer a device incidentally allowing its pressurization via a source of compressed air that can be provided by a motorized compressor normally intended for the inflation of motor vehicle tires. Such small electric motor compressors, which can be electrically connected to the cigarette lighter of vehicles, are currently offered very cheaply to motorists, to allow them to correct themselves the tire pressure of their vehicles. The device for pressurizing the tank of a manual sprayer by connection to an external source of compressed air is characterized, according to the invention, in that it essentially consists of a screw equipped with an inflation valve, intended to replace the closure screw cap 2906737 2 of the discharge opening of the sprayer tank normally fitted to it. According to a preferred embodiment, the valve which is provided with the inflation and drain screw cap is of the same functional and dimensional characteristics as those provided with the inner tubes or wheel rims of motor vehicles. The advantages obtained by virtue of this invention consist essentially in that it allows, while sparing the manual pumping system and allowing dual use: manual or pneumatic, to considerably reduce the physical effort and, consequently, the fatigue induced by the manual spraying of a fairly large row of shrubs to be treated if it is considered that, in the most common cases, 30 to 35 pressurized of the tank, repeated once to allow the emptying complete tank, are necessary; this, without taking into account the time saving that results. As for the connection of the small compressor to a corresponding source of electricity, it may be the cigarette lighter of a motor vehicle or a corresponding battery of accumulator arranged on a small trolley, with the compressor and the supply of treatment products. Other features and advantages will appear in the following description of a manual sprayer equipped with an inflation device according to the invention, given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 represents a sprayer in a manual version, provided with its original drain plug; FIG. 2 shows a sprayer in manual and pneumatic version, provided with its inflation and drain plug, FIG. a partial longitudinal sectional view of the inflation and drain plug according to the invention. The figures, taken as a whole, show a manual hand-pump tank sprayer 11 provided with an inflation safety valve 12 and a simple drain screw plug 13, or a screw cap of FIG. inflation and draining 14 provided with a valve 141 with plug 142 connectable, a mini-compressor (not shown), by a pipe, the free end has a connector for its connection to the valve 141.

By examining in greater detail the three figures, it will be noted: 1) in FIG. 1, that no means are provided, of construction, for putting the pressurized spray tank 10 other than the hand pump 11 to piston, which must be actuated repetitively until an air clearance is obtained by the inflation safety valve 12: the treatment can normally be undertaken only from this moment, 2) in the figure 2, that the replacement of the simple drain screw cap 13 with an inflation and drain screw plug 14 allows the pressurizing tank 10 to be pressurized via the valve 141 included in said plug 14, subject to the connection thereof to a mini-compressor connected to the valve 141 by a suitable connection pipe (not shown in the figure), the inflation operation being continued until operation of the safety valve of inflating 12 ; the sprayer then being ready to be put into service at the request of the user, after disconnection of the inflation pipe, the compressor then being stopped, 3) in FIG. 3, that the inflation screw cap and drain 14, shown in place and in an external view in Figure 2, is a screw cap with the same characteristics and dimensions as the original drain plug 13, shown in FIG. 1, in the axis of which a valve 141 has been mounted, shown in partial section, providing the necessary sealing and solidarity, and which is similar to the inflation valves which are mounted on the wheel rim of tubeless tire vehicles. As can be seen, the inflation and drain screw cap 14 according to the invention, which can be proposed as an accessory for manual sprayers, can be held in place during the periods of non-use to avoid mislaying it. given its dual function: the plug 142 of the valve 141 can, however, be put back in place to prevent fouling and deterioration thereof.
