Abstract

The method involves isolating a damaged fence post (1) from a concrete base (3), and cutting an upper part (4) of the post by a flush with the base. A plate (6) is fixed on the base at a location of the upper part, by using screws arranged in recesses of the plate, where the location projects from a lower part (2) of the post. A base of a new fence post is presented above the plate. The base is vertically engaged on the plate, along surfaces in complimentary surfaces. The new fence post is fixed on the plate. An independent claim is also included for a fence post plate implementing a damaged fence post replacing method.

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a fence post replacement method and a post plate adapted to the implementation of such a method.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Large and high fences, such as highways, parks or factories, are usually made with metal poles that hold wire or wire mesh tight.

These posts, whose height above the ground is approximately 1.50 m to 3 m, are either sunk directly into the ground or sealed in concrete blocks.

When a post is damaged, for example after an accident, along a taxiway, or, more generally, in case of aging due to corrosion, it must be changed.

Defective poles simply driven into the ground are simply torn off, and then replaced by new poles.

On the other hand, such a repair method is not possible for the posts which are sealed in concrete blocks.

There are currently no other solutions than to proceed with the demolition of the sealing mass, or to seal the replacement poles in new concrete massings made by necessity in the immediate vicinity of the old massifs.

This last way of doing things is prohibitive when the concrete wall is the wall of a structure, the space usually not being sufficient to create new massifs, or when the concrete blocks frame a gate or a gate because there is an obligation to proceed simultaneously with many other adjustments so that the gate or portal continues to provide in optimal conditions its closing and opening functions.

The solution of demolishing and rebuilding sealing blocks in areas large enough to allow such a reconstruction has the disadvantage that it requires a long time for its implementation when it is necessary to dig a new space sufficient for the future massive, appropriately place in this space the replacement pole, pour the concrete around and wait several days that the concrete dries and seals the post before being able to put the metallic son or the tablecloths in tension . These multiple operations, conducted in addition to several days apart, have the effect of being restrictive and very expensive, certainly much more expensive than the operation of placing a new post.

There is therefore a need for a fence post replacement method that is simple and very quick to implement.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention thus aims in the first place a method of replacing a damaged fence post, having a lower portion sealed in a concrete block or the like, satisfying this need. The method according to the invention consists in: a) isolating the damaged fence post on the massif; b) cutting the upper portion of the damaged fence post flush with said bed; (c) attaching a plate to the massif at the location of the flush upper end of the lower portion of the damaged fence post; d) to present the base of a fence post nine above this plate, and to vertically engage the base of this pole on the plate; e) attach the new fence post to the turntable.

Since the method according to the invention comprises a step of cutting the damaged post flush with the concrete and a step of recovery, using a plate, the flush end of the lower portion of said pole , it is then obvious that the replacement process according to The invention has the additional advantage of being applicable to all types of posts, regardless of their original section, square, rectangular, round, oval, T or I for example. According to the method of the invention, the base of the new fence post is advantageously engaged on the plate along complementary facing surfaces.

Preferably, according to the invention, the new fence post is fixed to the plate by means of bosses provided on at least one of the vertical surfaces of the plate, said bosses forming reliefs bearing on the inner surface or surfaces facing each other. from the base of the new pole.

Alternatively, the new fence post is fixed to the plate by means of complementary bosses arranged on surfaces facing the base of this pole and the plate.

According to the invention, the plate is also advantageously fixed on the solid mass by means of a flange.

Preferably, according to the invention, the plate is fixed on the solid mass by means of at least three screws, each arranged in a bore of the plate.

Preferably, according to the invention, the platinum is fixed to the solid mass by means of at least three expansion pins.

The invention also relates to a closing post plate adapted to the implementation of the method described in general above, and comprising in combination:

a flange intended to be fixed on a concrete block or the like, this flange being of generally polygonal shape and having at least three through-holes of diameter capable of receiving fastening screws or bolts on the solid mass; - A sleeve arranged perpendicularly to the flange, the sleeve having on its surface at least one outwardly projecting boss intended to bear on the inner surface or faces facing the base of the new post.

Alternatively, each boss may cooperate with at least one complementary boss arranged at the base of the post.

The invention relates preferably to a plate where the sleeve consists of a section segment having an open square section, and preferably a plate where the flange is square and has four through bores. These few essential specifications make it obvious to those skilled in the art the advantages provided by this damaged fence post replacement method, and by the fence post platen used for the implementation of this method, compared to the state of the art. of the prior art.

The detailed specifications of the invention are given in the following description in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that these drawings have no other purpose than that of illustrating the text of the description and that they therefore in no way constitute a limitation of the scope of the invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

A typical example of implementing the method of replacing a damaged fence post is shown in Figure 1.

In a first step (a), the damaged fence post 1, whose lower part 2 is sealed in a concrete block 3, is cleared of the fence son he supported.

The damaged fence post 1 having thus been isolated on its solid 3, the upper part 4 of said damaged post 1 is cut flush with the concrete block 3, by any appropriate means 5, including a saw or a grinder, in the course of a second step (b) of the method according to the invention.

At the end of this operation, there remains in the concrete block 3 only the lower part 2 of the damaged fence post 1, reduced to its embedded part, shown in dotted lines in FIG. 1 (b). During a third step (c), a plate 6 is then fixed on the concrete block 3 at the location of the upper end flush with this portion 2 remaining sealed. The plate 6 comprises for this purpose a flange 7 by means of which it is fixed in the concrete block 3 by anchoring pins or expansion pins schematized by their axis 16 shown in phantom, for example pins sold under the brands "Spit" or "urtz". The plate 6 also comprises a sleeve 10 arranged perpendicularly to the flange 7.

During a fourth step (d), the base of a new fence post 8 is presented as indicated by the reference 9 above the plate 6, and said base is engaged vertically on the sleeve 10 of the plate.

The outer surface of the sleeve 10 is of complementary shape to the inner surface of the base of the new fence post 8; the sleeve 10 is thus slidably fitted inside the base of the post 8. In a final step (e), the new fence post 8 is fixed on the plate 10 by totally engaging it on the sleeve 10 of the plate 6, which comprises for this purpose bosses 11. Such bosses, provided in relief outwardly on at least one of the surfaces of the sleeve 10 of the plate 6, bear against the inner surface or surfaces facing the base of the new post 8, and prevent any upward movement of said new post after it has been force-driven by manual or mechanical threshing, until it comes into contact with the flange 7 of the plate 6. If applicable , complementary bosses of the bosses 11 are provided on the surface or faces facing the base of the new pole 8. These bosses, cooperating in pairs, by their respective positions on the sleeve 10 and on the base of the new post 8 , strengthen if necessary was the anchoring of the new water pole on the plate 6.

The result of the replacement method according to the invention is a new fence post 8 placed exactly in the same place as the old one, as the comparison of FIGS. 1 (a) and 1 (e) clearly shows, without it was necessary to demolish the concrete block 3 and, therefore, to rebuild the massif. Figures 2, 3a and 3b show a fence post plate particularly suitable for implementing the replacement method described above.

This plate comprises a fastening flange 7, and a sleeve 10 consisting of a profile segment welded perpendicularly to the flange 7.

As shown in Figure 3b, the profile 10 is of open square section, which provides the sleeve 10 a certain transverse elasticity to facilitate the longitudinal engagement of the base of the fence post nine

The profile 10 has on the outer surface of its core 14 two bosses 11, as shown in the longitudinal section A-A of the plate 6 of Figure 3a. These bosses 11 make it possible to block the fence post 8 on the plate, as already indicated, that the core 15 of the complementary profile which constitutes the post 8 is flat or also provided with complementary bosses of the bosses 11 The top view of the plate 6 (FIG. 3b) clearly shows the square shape of the fastening flange 7, and the bores 12 that it contains near each corner.

This geometrical configuration ensures a high performance fastening in the existing concrete blocks 3, thanks to the four bores 12 allowing the installation of anchor pins or expansion anchors 16.

A flange 7 of optimum strength is obtained by using, for its production, preferably a flat whose thickness is between 5 mm and 8 mm. The reduced thickness of this plate allows the fence to be fastened to the ground, which helps to reinforce the protection against any intrusion, human or animal, unwanted.

The dimensions of this flange 7 are advantageously determined in order to implement the fence post replacement method according to the invention in the case where the existing posts 1 are sealed in 3-square concrete blocks having a side of 300 mm. , or 3 round blocks of 300 mm in diameter. But, in order to make the plate 6 usable in the maximum of cases, flange dimensions of 100 mm × 100 mm have been retained.

The bores 12 preferably have a diameter of 12 mm for the application of pins 16 having a diameter of 10 mm.

The mechanical characteristics of the sleeve 10, in particular its height, are determined to have a resistance adapted to the laying of poles 8 of different heights, corresponding to. different mesh heights used, eg 1.5m, 2m or 2.5m, or even off-standard heights.

There are about ten different heights of fence posts.

Another advantage of implementing the replacement method according to the invention is that, whatever the height of the new pole 8 to be installed, one still uses a single platinum model 6, which greatly simplifies the management of stocks.

The outer dimensions of the section of the profiled sleeve 10 correspond to the internal dimensions of the profiles constituting the new fence posts 8, so as to allow the engagement of the sleeve 10 of the plate 6 in the base of the post 8.

Advantageously, the section segment constituting the sleeve 10 has:

a length substantially equal to 380 mm;

- substantially 3 mm thick;

- an open square section of substantially 39.5 mm side;

wings 13 delimiting the open portion of the section, with a width substantially equal to 11.5 mm.

Another great advantage of implementing the replacement method according to the invention is that at its base, the new post 8 installed to a double thickness because it consists of two parts, the pole itself , outside, and the plate, the sleeve 10 is then concealed by the pole 8; the strength of the post is thus significantly improved at its base, that is to say in the area that is most prone to shocks.

Another advantage of the method according to the invention is that, even though the newly installed post 8 would not be perfectly vertical, either because the ground is not horizontal, or because the flange 7 of the plate 6 can not be placed perfectly horizontally due to the impossibility of eliminating certain irregularities of the concrete block 3 and / or the end of the cut section 2 of the damaged pole 4, it will be very easy to give it a perfect verticality by exerting appropriate horizontal forces on the post and / or on the sleeve-pole assembly.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the single preferred embodiment described above.

Without any modification other than the shapes of the flange 7 and the sleeve 10, the same description applies to new fence posts of different shapes from that of the fence post 8 shown. The dimensions in metric units of the plate 6 specified above are not limiting either.

It goes without saying that the number and the arrangement of the bores of the fastening flange 7 are also given by way of example only. In particular, it may be advantageous in terms of costs, to arrange only three bores 12 in triangle, instead of four in square, in the flange 7 shown in Figure 3b, because the number of holes to be drilled in the concrete block 3, and the number of pegs to be supplied and laid, decrease by one unit.

The invention therefore embraces all possible variants of embodiment subject of the claims below.
