Abstract

The device has a neck on which a manual pressure is applied for compressing folds of rings of accordions (1). A carbonated soft drink (2) is contained in a full bottle and contains dissolved gas, whose evaporation is based on pressure of a volume (3). Liquid quantity (4) is reduced, and deformation of the accordions reduces a residual volume (6) to a quantity equivalent to that in a filled state of the bottle to maintain same pressure. The rings are folded such that the reduction of contained liquid (8) does not modify pressure of a residual volume (9). The device uses Boyle`s law.

Description

The invention concerns a system for reducing, by deformation of the bottle, the amount of residual air between the liquid level and the stopper.

The device is intended to replace the usual bottles containing soft drink and, when the bottle is opened and started, the amount of residual air always causes evaporation of the gases dissolved in the soft drink, making the soft drink less dense in dissolved gas, so less sparkling. The reduction of the volume of air is obtained by vertical manual pressure before closing the cap. This manual pressure acting on folds deformable accordion rings on the body of the bottle and whose bending pressure is greater than the gas pressure dissolved in the soft drink. The physical principle on which this invention is based is that of Mariotte's law on the equilibrium of the pressures between the saturation of dissolved gas and the external pressure on the surface of the liquid. This device applies to any soft drink packaging provided that it has a hermetic cap used after first opening.

The attached drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents 3 states of the bottle: A: state of the full bottle no fold is compressed B: state of the opened bottle, several folds are compressed C: state of the bottle All of the compressed folds 5 10 15 Referring to these drawings, the device is applied when vertical manual pressure is applied to the neck to compress the folds of the accordion rings (1). The soft drink (2) contained in the full bottle (A) contains dissolved gases whose evaporation is a function of the pressure of the volume (3). When the bottle is started (B), the amount of liquid is reduced (4), the deformation of the accordion (5) reduces the residual volume (6) to an amount equivalent to what it was when the bottle was full (A) so as to maintain the same pressure, thus preventing the soft drink from losing dissolved gases. The last state (C) shows all the folded accordion rings (7), the reduction of the contained liquid (8) does not affect the pressure of the residual volume (9), the drink will retain the same sparkling qualities as 'at the initial opening.
