DISPOSITIF DE LIAISON ELECTRIQUE ENTRE UN ELEMENT FIXE ET UN ELEMENTDEVICE FOR THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION BETWEEN A FIXED ELEMENT AND AN ELEMENT
OPENING OF VEHICLE BODYWORK. The present invention relates to an electrical connection device 5 between a fixed element and an opening element of a vehicle body, in particular a motor vehicle. The term "fixed bodywork element" means the hull (or the hull frame) of the vehicle, not equipped with the opening elements, such as, for example, the doors, the bonnet, the tailgate or the rear door, etc. The invention relates to the field of distribution of electricity in vehicles, in particular motor vehicles. There is a trend towards increasing comfort and safety benefits, as well as, for example, those related to dynamics, the engine or depollution. There is also a growing requirement imposed by the style or interior and exterior design of motor vehicles. This makes it more and more difficult to physically circulate the electric current in the vehicle, and more particularly between a fixed element and an opening element of the bodywork, for example between the passenger compartment and a door or between the passenger compartment and a passenger compartment. rear opening flap. The length of electrical wiring has almost tenfold in thirty years as the number of interconnections. A high-end automobile model can have up to 1,000 wires and some 2,000 electrical connections. A bodywork opening element, such as a door, may have a large number of electrical wires. Thus, in the door of a high-end vehicle, there are two wires for central locking, two others for powering the window regulator motor, two for its control button and two for the anti-theft system. pinch, now generalized, two still for setting the electric mirror, two for the integrated flashing - very fashionable these days - two if it is electrochromic (that is to say if it is hue automatically in the sun), two for defrosting and two more if it is electrically folded. In addition, wires for the loudspeaker, for the opening contactor, for the automatic closing of the doors, for the handle and door lighting (if any), for opening with a card, are also required. etc. In total, we can have up to 50 different threads! It thus understands the difficulties specific to the establishment of a continuous, reliable and practical electrical connection between the electrical harness of the fixed body body, shell or cabin, and an opening element, such as a door or a flap back, for example. A method widely used today for mounting on an automotive production line is to use two beams, namely a passenger compartment harness and a specific electrical harness for the opening, which are then connected together. Such a method allows installation of the two beams, which can also come from different suppliers, on different workstations, which facilitates the balancing of the assembly line. The beam of the opening can also be mounted on a specific assembly line of the opening with the packings, windows, various electrical devices, locks, before the opening returns to the main production line. However, this method has many disadvantages, among which: the difficulty of passing the end of the beam of the opening from the outside to the inside of the vehicle to achieve interconnection with the beam of the passenger compartment, - the need to provide a path and, therefore, a space reserved for the beam portion of the opening in the passenger compartment, between the structure and the lining, resulting in a loss of volume in the passenger compartment, - the cost and the development of a beam bellows to achieve the tightness at the passage of the beam in the passenger compartment, and the difficulty of obtaining good kinematics of the beam during operation of the opening, - the additional cost resulted by the interconnection in the cockpit, and the number of failures likely to occur, - the need to manage a complementary beam on the edge of the assembly line.
Another method of producing the electrical connection encountered in automobile manufacturing consists in integrating the beam of the opening element into the beam of the fixed element (of the passenger compartment). But this way of proceeding also has drawbacks among which: - the difficulty of passing the electric harness from the opening of the inside of the vehicle to the outside, - the need to develop an electric harness bellows so as to achieve a tightness to the right of the passage of the beam in the fixed element of body (cockpit), and also the technical difficulty to obtain good kinematics of the beam during operation of the opening element, -the obligation to have a beam more imposing in size. The object of the present invention is to design a new electrical connection device between a fixed element and a vehicle body opening element, which has none of the disadvantages mentioned above. Another object of the present invention is to provide such a device which is applicable to all vehicles having an opening. It is also an object of the present invention to design a new electrical connection device between a fixed element and a vehicle body opening element, which is robust, inexpensive, easy to install, which saves time during 20 of the assembly. It is another object of the present invention to design such a device that is well suited to openings that have a large number of electrical functions. To achieve these and other objects which will become apparent in the following description of the present disclosure, the present invention provides a novel electrical connection device between a fixed member and a vehicle body opening member, the two members being connected together by a hinge type pivot connection, in which the connecting end of the conductive beam of the opening element envelopes a part of the periphery of the hinge pin, and the connecting end of the conductive beam of the fixed element is connected to a contact connector on said periphery of the pin, so as to achieve electrical continuity between the two conductive beams. Preferably, the connecting end of the conductive beam 10 of the opening element is in the form of a flexible flat cable with flat conductors. Also preferably, this connecting end of the conductive beam of the opening element envelops the periphery of the hinge pin on an angular sector at least equal to the angular sector corresponding to the total pivoting movement of the opening element relative to the fixed element. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the contact connector connected to the connecting end of the conductive harness of the fixed element is a pressure contact connector, more particularly a pressure contact connector of type ball contact. The permanent pressure contact is obtained by means of resilient means, preferably springs, which apply the balls against the flexible flat cable. And preferably, the ball contact connector is fixedly mounted on the fixed member, the longitudinal axis of said connector being perpendicular to the surface of the fixed member and passing through the pivot axis of the hinge. Also preferably, the ball contact connector comprises a number of balls which corresponds to the number of elementary conductor wires of the wiring harness of the fixed body element, and the flexible flat cable comprises a number of flat conductors which corresponds to the number of elementary conductor wires of the electrical harness of the bodywork opening member. Also preferably, the flexible flat cable which constitutes the connecting end of the conductive beam of the opening element is formed of flat copper conductors, drawn, rolled and insulated with a plastic material. Also according to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the hinge-type pivot connection is a U-shaped section fitting, one of the branches being integral with the bodywork opening member and the other having its own branch. spindle-shaped end rotatably mounted on bearings integral with the fixed element of the bodywork. According to the preferred embodiment also, the connecting end of the conductive beam of the opening element is connected to said conductive beam of the opening element by means of a multi-pin connector disposed inside the hinge, so as to have an interconnection between the two electrical harnesses inside said hinge.
In addition, said U branch secured to the bodywork opening element has an orifice for the passage of the conductive beam of the opening element.
In addition also, said connecting end of the conductive beam of the opening element envelops the periphery of the pin of the hinge on an angular sector at least equal to 270 angular.
Alternatively, and so as to allow a large number of electrical functions in the opening element, the invention provides a multiple electrical connection between a fixed element and a vehicle body opening element, said opening element being connected to the fixed element by several hinge type pivot connections, each pivot connection being equipped with an electrical connection device according to the present invention and exposed above. The fixed element is the passenger compartment of the vehicle and the opening element is an opening element of the vehicle among the following body components: front door, rear door, trunk lid, tailgate or rear door. Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear in the following description of a preferred embodiment, not limiting the object and scope of the present invention, accompanied by drawings in which: - Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view mainly showing the attachment of the hinge type pivot connection to the bodywork opening member; - Figure 2 is a schematic perspective view showing mainly the attachment of the hinge-type pivot connection to the support; of hinge pin, which support is rigidly fixed to the fixed bodywork element, - Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the electrical connection device according to the present invention, - Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view illustrating an example of the position of the electrical connection zones between the fixed element and the bodywork opening element, which is here, by way of example, a flap rear of a motor vehicle body. A preferred embodiment of the present invention is described below. Referring to the drawing of Figure 1, there is shown a hinge 3, generally U-shaped section fitting, with a body opening member 1 rigidly attached to one of the two branches of the U by means of fasteners 4 represented by the bores of fastening bolts or the like not shown. The hinge 3, and the opening element 1 rigidly fixed to the hinge 3, is pivotally movable (about the axis a of Figures 1 and 2) relative to the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, shown at 2 in the drawing. of Figure 3 and only by the bearing flanges 6 rigidly connected to the passenger compartment in the drawing of Figures 1 and 2. Rotating bearings 5a, provided in the bearing flanges 6, allow the rotation of the hinge 3 around the axis has, together with the opening element, relative to the passenger compartment 2. As can be seen better in the drawing of FIG. 3, the other leg of the U constituting the hinge 3 is extended at its end. of a cylindrical part or pin 5 whose longitudinal axis is the axis of rotation of the hinge 3. Referring now to the drawings of Figures 2 and 3, the electrical harness 10 of the opening member 1 of bodywork through the wall of the hinge 3 by a hole of paro 3a and is connected, by means of a multi-pin connector 7, to a terminal portion A in the form of flat flexible cable with flat conductors. This part A in the form of a flat cable envelops the pin 5, on the peripheral surface thereof to which it is fixed, over an angular distance which will be detailed in the rest of the text and which is, in the present example illustrated on FIG. Figure 3, greater than 270 angle. Rigidly fixed on the fixed element 2 of the body is positioned a ball connector 9. The balls 9b of the connector are in permanent contact, under the elastic action of springs 9a, with the end portion A of the harness 10 of the opening element 1 which envelops the pin 5. This maintained pressure of the balls 9b on the flat cable A allows electrical continuity between the electrical harness 10 of the opening element 1 and the electrical harness 11 of the fixed element 2 of bodywork to which is connected the ball contact connector 9. The longitudinal axis of the ball contact connector 9, which is the direction of pressure of the springs 9a on the balls 9b, is perpendicular to the surface of the fixed body member 2 and passes through the pivot axis of the hinge 3. The flexible flat cable A consists of flat conductors, for example flat copper conductors, drawn, rolled and insulated with a plastic material, such as the only polyester.
The ball contact connector 9 comprises a number of balls 9b which corresponds at least to the number of elementary conductor wires of the electrical harness 11 of the fixed element 2 of bodywork. The flexible flat cable A comprises a number of flat conductors which corresponds at least to the number of elementary conductor wires of the electric harness 10 of the opening element 1 of the bodywork. The dimensions of the balls 9b and the widths of the flat conductors 5 are adapted such that a ball is in contact with a flat conductor and only one. The flexible flat cable A with flat conductors surrounds the peripheral cylindrical surface of the pin 5 on an angular sector at least at least equal to the angular sector corresponding to the total pivoting movement of the opening element 1, and consequently of the hinge 3 around its pivot axis coincides with the axis of the spindle 5. In the example illustrated in particular in the drawing of Figure 3, the angular sector is between 270 and 360 angle. During the opening or closing pivoting movement of the opening element 1 of the bodywork, the pin 5, integral with the opening element, rotates about itself about the axis a of the hinge and the balls 9b , pressed by the springs 9a, remain in contact with the flat conductors of the cable A wound on the spindle 5. The rotational movement of the opening element 1 of the bodywork does not affect the electrical continuity between the beams 10 and 11, the balls 9b connected to the bundle 11 remaining in pressure contact with the flat conductors connected to the bundle 10. Such a connecting device, as illustrated by the drawing of FIGS. 1 to 3, has the advantage of saving space. in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. In addition, the interconnection is carried out in a well-defined location (by the connector 7 located inside the U-shaped hinge fitting) and, consequently, offers the advantage of an identical path of the electric harness in the cockpit for all vehicles. In addition, the device of the present invention, which applies to all vehicles with opening members, does not require a sash protection sleeve 5. Other advantages of the device described above reside in its installation. Indeed, there is no human intervention in achieving the interconnection between the beam of the fixed element (cabin) and the beam of the opening element. In addition, the beam 10 of the opening element can be prepared independently of the other beams. In a variant, and in such a way as to allow a large number of electrical functions in the bodywork opening element 1, the solution of the present invention is applied to a multi-hinge connection, for example the connection of a door or a hatch on the passenger compartment with two hinges identical to the hinge 3 described above. A multiple electrical connection is then made between a fixed element 2 (passenger compartment) and the door or the opening flap 1 of the vehicle body, each hinge 20 being equipped with an electrical connection device as described above. The large number of electrical connections between the fixed element 2 and the opening element 1 of the body is then distributed over the two devices located on the one and the other hinge, respectively. In the drawing of FIG. 4, there is shown, by way of example, a bodywork opening element 1 in position on a fixed bodywork element 2 with the locations of the connection zones 3 ', 3 ", each integrating a device electrical connection as described above and in accordance with the present invention In this example, not limiting the object of the present invention, the fixed element is the structure of the passenger compartment of the vehicle and the opening element is the hood rear incorporating the rear window.
Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and represented above by way of examples; other embodiments may be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
