Abstract

The method involves starting a time counter, and testing the presence of a vacuum conservation compartment. Pumping is started if the compartment is present, and pressure inside the compartment is compared with a preset pressure if an elapsed time is equal to or greater than a preset duration. The pumping is stopped, an error signal is activated, and the counter is reset if the pressure is not less than or equal to the preset pressure. An independent claim is also included for a domestic refrigerator comprising a vacuum conservation compartment.
