Abstract

Patch (1), for treating lips, comprises an elastically deformable support (2) and an active material on one side of the support which exerts an action on the lips, where (I) is configured to liberate the active material on the lips in response to contact with a liquid. Description

The present invention relates to a patch for the treatment of lips.

  European patent application EP 0 823 228 A1 describes a device for treating the lips, comprising a support, at least a portion of which is capable of being impregnated with a powdery, liquid or pasty product. This support has a flattened shape defining at least one application surface capable of coming into contact with at least one of the lips of the user. A product transfer on the lips can take place during the compression of the support between the lips of the user. In the exemplary embodiments illustrated in this application, the support is secured to a gripping member, which has repercussions on the manufacturing cost.

  European patent application EP 1 245 246 A1 describes a treatment device comprising an envelope defining a cavity in which a part of the body can be engaged. Such a device is not intended for the treatment of the lips.

  European Patent Application EP 1 129 700 A2 discloses an adhesive matrix composite structure containing one or more actives, used for the treatment, makeup or cleaning of the skin or hair. In a particular embodiment, the composite structure comprises a first adhesive matrix sandwiched between two support layers and a second adhesive matrix sandwiched between one of the support layers and another support layer. Such a structure is presented as being advantageously used with different assets in the two adhesive matrices, so as to make it possible to treat the skin differently according to the face applied to it.

  There is a need to benefit from a lip treatment patch having a reduced manufacturing cost while being simple and comfortable to use.

  According to a first of its aspects, the subject of the invention is a patch for treating the lips, comprising: an elastically deformable support; at least one active element on at least one side of the support, this asset being intended to exert an action on the lips, the patch being configured such that the asset is released on the lips in response to contact with a liquid.

  Wetting the patch may for example solubilize the asset and / or allow its release and / or diffusion to the lips.

  By patch is meant a structure adapted to remain in contact with the surface to be treated, for example by the nip between the lips. Such a structure does not necessarily adhere to the surface to be treated.

  The liquid may be water, saliva, an alcoholic solution, propylene glycol, an oil or any other liquid.

  A patch according to the invention can be manufactured relatively easily and its packaging can be performed in a substantially anhydrous state, the patch being dry to the touch. Thus, the patch may be devoid of preservative or, if appropriate, have a relatively low level.

  The patch can easily be manufactured by cutting sheets or strips, which makes it possible to overcome any rigid element.

  Moreover, the patch can be made with a relatively large thickness, which ensures a certain comfort in use, allowing the user to tighten it between the lips for a relatively long time without excessive fatigue.

  The thickness of the support is thus advantageously greater than or equal to 2 mm, better still greater than or equal to 3 mm, better still greater than or equal to 4 mm.

  The support may have a honeycomb structure or any other elastically compressible structure. The support may comprise a recess. The support may further comprise, for example, a felt.

  In the case where the support has a honeycomb structure, the support may comprise an open cell foam or closed, for example a polyurethane foam. The support may have, if necessary, a composite structure comprising several layers of different types, laminated together.

  The device may comprise: a first substrate, a first side of the support, a second substrate, a second side of the support, the asset for the treatment of the lips being contained at least partially in at least one of said substrates.

  The substrates may be identical and contain the same active agent (s) so as to treat the lips symmetrically.

  Each substrate may, for example, comprise a fibrous or cellular base, for example a non-woven or woven sheet or a flocked perforated film. The base may be permeable to water, and preferably hydrophilic.

  The active agent may for example be at least partially dispersed in or between the fibers or in cells of the base, especially in a freeze-dried or crystallized form.

  Each substrate may also comprise a polymeric matrix, possibly containing at least part of the active ingredient.

  The polymeric matrix can in particular ensure the maintenance of the corresponding base on the support. In this case, the polymeric matrix may not extend to an outer face of the patch prior to use, being confined between the support and the associated base.

  The polymeric matrix may alternatively define an outer face of the patch at the time of use, especially in the absence of a base covering the core. In this case, the polymeric matrix may advantageously be protected before use by a removable protective film. The polymeric matrix preferably does not stick to the lips dry and also not or little wet.

  The support may be lacking, prior to use, of the asset. This can be contained exclusively in at least one of the two substrates.

  The patch may have a symmetrical structure with respect to a median plane of the support, cutting it mid-thickness. This can make it possible to perform the same treatment on the lower and upper lips and to avoid having to respect a particular orientation during use.

  The active ingredient is chosen, for example, from those intended to exert an action on the cracking or fine lines of the lips and / or among the active agents intended to swell the lips or else to protect the lips from external aggressions such as, for example, radiation. ultraviolet or cold.

  The active agent may be chosen for example from glycerine, allantoin or jojoba oil.

  The patch preferably has a contour adapted to the shape of the lips, in particular a reniform or disk-shaped contour.

  The patch can be fully flexible.

  When the patch is made by cutting a strip or sheet, it may include a slice on which the support is apparent.

  The substrates arranged on either side of the support may already be secured to the support when the user acquires the patch.

  Alternatively, each substrate may comprise an adhesive for fixing to the support at the time of use and / or the support may comprise an adhesive for fixing the substrates on the support at the time of use.

  The adhesive may, where appropriate, make it possible to separate the support from each substrate after use, for example to reuse the support with new substrates.

  The adhesive may, if necessary, contain the asset.

  The patch may be contained in an individual package or alternatively several patches may be packaged together.

  The subject of the invention is also a kit, comprising: an elastically deformable support, at least one substrate containing at least one active agent intended to exert an action on the lips, at least one of the support and the substrate comprising an adhesive allowing to secure the substrate and the support at least for use.

  This adhesive may allow, if necessary, as mentioned above, the separation of the support and the substrate after use. The adhesive may contain the asset, if any.

  The subject of the invention is also a process for treating the lips in which a patch as defined above is used, in particular for treating the cracking of the lips, in particular to exert a cicatrizing action, to treat the fine lines of the lips, to swell the lips or to protect the lips from external aggressions such as for example ultraviolet radiation or cold.

  The subject of the invention is, independently or in combination with the foregoing, a patch for the treatment of the lips, comprising: an elastically deformable support, a first substrate of a first side of the support, a second substrate of a second side of the support, - at least one active intended to exert an action on the lips in each substrate.

  Each substrate may for example comprise a base and a polymeric matrix for fixing the base on the support.

  The support may or may not contain an active agent intended to exert an action on the lips. The support may in particular be monolithic, being for example constituted by a layer of an open-cell foam or closed.

  The subject of the invention is, independently or in combination with the foregoing, a patch for the treatment of the lips, comprising: an elastically deformable support, a first substrate of a first side of the support, a second substrate of a second side of the support, at least one active agent for treating the lips in each substrate, the patch being made by cutting a strip.

  The subject of the invention is also, independently or in combination with the foregoing, a patch for the treatment of the lips, this patch comprising: an elastically deformable support, and at least one active element on one side of the support, this asset being intended to exert an action on the lips, the patch being dry to the touch before use.

  The patch 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 has a composite structure and comprises an elastically compressible support 2 situated between substrates 3. The latter each define an outer face of the patch 1. The latter has, in front view, as it can be seen in Figure 2, a contour adapted to the shape of the lips, including a reniform contour.

  In the example considered, each substrate 3 comprises a base 4 and a polymeric matrix 5 extending between the base 4 and the support 2 and ensuring the maintenance of the base 4 on the support 2. The matrix 5 can impregnate at least partially the support 2 and / or the base 4, on the side of its side facing the support 2.

  Each substrate 3 comprises at least one active agent intended to exert an action on the lips. This asset can be contained for example in the base 4 and / or in the matrix 5.

  The base 4 may aim in particular to improve comfort during use and comprise a sheet of a fibrous or cellular material, for example a sheet of a woven fabric or a nonwoven or a perforated flocked film. The base 4 is preferably hydrophilic.

  The matrix 5 comprises for example an adhesive, chosen in particular from vinyl or acrylic adhesives, polyurethanes, elastomers, this list not being limiting.

  The matrix 5 may comprise at least one moisture-absorbing compound, for example a polyacrylate, silica, especially colloidal silica, Carbopol, or any other superabsorbent compound, in order to promote the bursting of the matrix 5 in the presence water and facilitate the release of the asset (s) possibly contained inside. For example, reference may be made to the European patent application EP 1 129 700, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

  The thickness of the support 2 is preferably greater than or equal to 2 mm, being for example 3 or 4 mm in order to provide the user with a certain comfort when the latter clamps the patch 1 between his two lips L, as shown in Figure 3.

  The support 2 is for example made in a foam having a relatively low density, for example between 20 and 45 kg / m3, easily compressible, so as to be deformed relatively significantly when the user holds the patch 1 between his lips.

  The patch 1 is advantageously made by cutting a composite strip structure, so that on the edge 6 of the patch 1 the support 2 is apparent, as can be seen from the examination of Figure 1.

  In the example considered, patch 1 needs to be moistened so that the asset (s) it contains can (do) exert an action on the lips. The user can pass it for example under hot or cold water to wet before holding it between his lips L for a period of time sufficient for at least one active can perform its action, for example a period of between 30 s and 7 minutes.

  The water may, for example, solubilize at least one active agent present in the substrate 3, for example in the base 4 and / or burst the matrix 5 and cause the release of at least one asset contained therein.

  Of course, the invention is not limited to particular materials for producing the support 2 or the substrates 3 and, in the example of FIG. 4, the possibility has been illustrated for at least one of the substrates 3, better both, to be formed by a matrix 5 such as for example a hydrogel, deposited on one side of the support 2.

  Each substrate 3 can then be protected for example by a removable protective film 8, which can extend beyond the support 2 to facilitate gripping. Alternatively, the protective film 8 can be made in two halves so as to allow the user, by bending the patch 1, to grasp one of the halves then the other.

  The support 2 can be made with a recess 9, as illustrated in FIG. 5. To make the recess 9, it is possible, for example, to assemble two support halves 2 towards one another and having on their facing faces a hollow.

  The support 2 can be made with a constant thickness or, alternatively, as shown in FIG. 6, with a variable thickness in order, for example, to further increase comfort during use. The user can for example enter the patch between his lips on the side having the reduced thickness.

  The patch 1 can be presented to the consumer in an individual package, as shown in FIG. 7, which is for example in the form of a box 10 or a bag (not shown).

  Alternatively, as illustrated in FIG. 8, the support 2 can be packaged in a box 11, apart from the substrates 3, which can be identical, the box 11 comprising, for example, a recess 12 for receiving the support 2 and a recess 13 for receive the substrates 3.

  The support 2 may be coated on its faces with an adhesive. Alternatively or additionally, each substrate 3 is itself coated with an adhesive, the latter being optionally protected by a removable protective film (not shown).

  Before use, the user can reconstitute the patch 1 by assembling the support 2 and the substrates 3, as illustrated in FIG. 8, and then wet the patch 1 so as to allow the asset contained in the substrates 3 to exert an action on the lips.

  In a particular embodiment, the adhesive used has a sufficiently low adhesive force to enable the support 2 to be separated from the substrates 3 after use, for example to be able to reuse the support 2 with two new substrates 3.

  Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have just been described. Other examples, devoid of gripping member, can be made. In particular, it is possible to modify the structure of the support and, for example, to make it with a composite structure. The support may comprise at least one active intended to exert an action on the lips, if appropriate.

  Throughout the description, including the claims, the phrase having one must be understood to be synonymous with at least one, unless the opposite is specified.
