Système de réfrigération magnétique destiné à réfrigérer un fluide, comprenant un élément actif magnétocalorique (1) soumis à un cycle d'aimantation-désaimantation, dit cycle magnétique, et utilisant un fluide caloporteur circulant alternativement à travers ledit élément actif (1) en synchronisme avec ledit cycle magnétique.Selon l'invention, le fluide à réfrigérer constitue ledit fluide caloporteur.Application à la climatisation des véhicules automobiles.
