Abstract

The device has an enclosure that is provided with a movable face (4) having two holes (5). The face (4) seals the enclosure and permits to vary the volume of the enclosure. An interchangeable face (8) is blocked by a fixation system, and two threaded rods (1) that are driven by a motor through the strap permit to translate the face (4). A switch (6) assists in displaying the enclosure volume on a digital screen (7).

  Generally, the speaker manufacturers only give a range of use, knowing that the appreciation of the optimal volume is very subjective, this appreciation can be done only by the ear, it is better to listen and to judge before making his box.

  The variable volume box solves this problem because the customer could himself try his loudspeaker, vary the volume of the box and thus choose himself the volume that corresponds to it.

  This box can also be used in a personal capacity, to the extent that a person could vary the volume of his box, to adapt to the musical style that he listens.

  Two threaded rods (1) driven by a motor (2) via 45 belts (3) would translate the moving face (4). Indeed, the movable face may comprise two nuts (5) sealed in it. The rotation of the movable face being blocked, it will be forced to move in a translation.

  In order to perform its function as a tester, the face of the box (8) comprising the hole for the loudspeaker may be interchangeable, so as to be able to test loudspeakers of different diameters in the same box, which will save space for resellers. The hole for the vent (9) (if it is necessary) must also allow the modularity of the diameter and the length of this one.

  The tightness of all the faces of the box must be maximum, especially that of the moving face.

  In order to ensure the rapid change of loudspeaker, a more advantageous and faster system than the screw-nut system can be envisaged.

  The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the use of loudspeaker dealers, who will thus be able to listen to the frequency responses of the speakers to their customers. It can also be for personal use.

  1) Device for varying the volume of a chamber characterized in that it comprises a box with a movable face (4) for varying the volume of the enclosure.   2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the movable face (4) must seal the box.   3) Device according to any one of the preceding claims characterized in that the face (8) is interchangeable, thus allowing greater modularity.
