The present invention relates to a listening system integrated in a compact disk (CD) or Digital Video Disk (DVD) case. This system allows you to listen to pre-recorded messages or musical extracts.
Today, there are listening terminals installed at distributors which are limited in number and therefore often occupied. In addition, not all items on the shelves are available on these terminals. Finally, this invention makes it possible to remedy these drawbacks and can help the visually impaired, or people foreign to the language of the text written on the case, to more easily choose the product which would interest them.
This device according to the invention comprises a device integrated in each CD or DVD case allowing the user to listen to messages or pre-recorded audio extracts by wearing the case to his ear to put the speaker at a good distance and by actuating a switch without having to wait.
The invention consists of a housing and the integrated listening system. This box, present on one of these faces, a switch allowing to put in operation the control unit, supplied by an autonomous power supply. This control unit controls a programming interface, a memory and an audio interface. In the audio memory, a message or a musical extract will have been previously recorded. The audio interface is responsible for decoding and amplifying the signal and then broadcasting it through the loudspeaker located on one of the sides of the box.
The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: Figure la represents the general block diagram. FIG. 1b represents the four main elements of the electronic module. FIG. 2a shows an example of integration in a "CD" case. Figure 2b shows an example of integration in a "DVD" box. Figure 3a shows the usable space in a "CD" case for integrating the device. Figure 3b shows the usable space in a "DVD" box for the integration of the device.
With reference to these drawings, the device comprises:
(l) a switch allowing the system to operate and located on one side of the housing without protruding therefrom in order to avoid inadvertent trips. Its position on the housing can be indicated by a colored logo type mark, see relief for the visually impaired.
