Abstract

The domino holder (2) has a housing with multiple receptacles (6) each extending parallel and receiving a domino. The receptacles hold the dominos in parallel with their widths aligned. Each receptacle is partially chamfered (10) over the same width of the domino. Each receptacle can be partially closed by a wall (12) above the domino.

Description

The invention relates to domino games or the like and, more

  in particular, a pencil case for dominoes with a playing hand. It also concerns the

  storage case for a plurality of such pencil cases.

  The domino game is a well-known game that we don't need to come back to here. In a family setting or simply playful, the player places his dominoes on the table in front of him, generally on the edge, in such a way that his neighbors do not see his hand. It is usual for an awkward movement to drop the dominoes flat on the table, making the

confidentiality with one hand.

  Professional players use a pen tray to support the dominoes. This pen tray has other functions, such as an aid in the transport of dominoes, their marking, etc. Such a pen tray is, for example, described in document WO-A-0061250. The invention is situated in this context and relates, according to a first aspect, an improved pencil case for dominoes with a playing hand and, according to a second aspect, a box intended to receive a plurality of

pen cases of the aforementioned type.

  For the record, the dominoes each assume the shape of a parallelepiped having a length, a

  width and thickness determined.

  According to the invention, the pen tray is constituted by a box in which is formed a plurality of 10 receptacles parallel to each other and intended to receive

  each a domino, these receptacles being arranged in such a way that the lengths of each domino are parallel to one another, while the widths are aligned, each receptacle being partially indented over the same width of the domino.

  to be succinctly described and, more particularly in Figures 1 to 4, the pen tray 2 for dominoes with a playing hand consists of a housing 4 comprising a plurality of receptacles 6.

  In the example shown and in accordance with the conventional game of dominoes, the box 4 has seven receptacles. However, there are other games of the same type using a plurality of domino-type briquettes and for which there may be more than seven receptacles. The receptacles 6 are arranged side by side so that the lengths of each domino are parallel to each other, while the widths are aligned. Each domino (not shown in the drawings)

  Thus occupies a given receptacle 6 and is separated from the adjacent domino by a partition 8 allowing the dominoes not to slide laterally when one of them is removed during the game.

  had a length of 5.00 cm, a width of 2.50 cm, and a depth (under the wall 12) with a thickness of 0.20 cm) of the order of 0.5 cm. The notch 10 had a semi-circular shape of 1.60 cm in diameter. The wall 12 had a thickness of 0.20 cm and a width of 0.50 cm. The pen tray 2 thus obtained was therefore almost 20 cm long by 6 cm wide and 1.10 cm thick. Obviously, these values have been given here for information only and have no limiting character.

  The pen tray 2 can be made of a material chosen from wood, agglomerates and different plastics. Wood will be preferred for making a luxury pencil case, in particular an exotic wood such as tamarind or jackfruit. Plastic will be preferred to make a

economic pencil case.

  The invention also relates to a case for the storage of such pen cases, as shown in the Figure

  5. Such a box 20 is constituted by a box having a bottom 22 and side walls 24. The box is designed to accommodate a plurality of pencil cases 2 arranged one above the other, and is closed by a removable cover 25 .

  In a clever way, the bottom 22 of the box 20 is pierced with an orifice 28 making it possible to introduce a finger to push the pencil cases upwards to extract them 30 when the cover is removed without having to turn over the box. Obviously, the dimensions of the box are provided so that it can receive the pencil cases

without leaving too much play.

  The cover of the box 20 is constituted by a sliding wall 26 in rails 30 provided in three

of the four side walls 24.

  It is preferred that this sliding wall 26 forming

  cover is a glass plate, but it is obvious that it can be made of wood or cardboard.

  Although it has been shown and described what is now considered to be the preferred embodiments of the present invention, it is obvious that those skilled in the art will be able to make various changes and modifications thereto without going beyond the ambit of this

  invention as defined below.

  For example, the cover of box 2 can be rotatably mounted on a set of hinges provided on one of the

said side edges 24 of the cabinet.

Claims (5)
