Abstract

The gate lifter comprises two parallel jaws (1,2) fixed to a common support (5) so as to form with the support a U. The spacing between the jaws is adapted to allow their self-locking, by pivoting, on the opposite walls of the gate (3) when the handle (4) is lifted. One of the jaws has a mobile piece (6) which can be displaced by a screw (7) and nut (8) assembly to allow continuous adjustment of the gap between the mobile piece and the opposite jaw according to the thickness of the gate (3).

DOOR LIFTER DEVICE

DESCRIPTION

  The invention relates to a door-lifting device, adapted to help remove and put back elements of doors, patio doors or windows, in their hinges and to release the hands of the user from significant efforts and manipulations not always easy depending on the weight and location of said elements. The hands, freed from said efforts, can be used to better direct the elements

  mainly manipulate them to put them back in their hinges.

  The device according to the invention can also be used for moving any type of panel. Known devices of the kind in question generally comprise two jaws adapted to be placed on each side of the element to be moved and a grip handle adapted to, when raised, allow

  said jaws to be engaged with said element.

  They are essentially described in patents DE-29907377 and US1479711 and are of the types with articulated jaws acting by pinching. They present the disadvantages linked to the unstable grip of said jaws and to the deterioration of

  walls on which they are supported.

  The invention therefore relates to a device which advantageously responds to the problem posed by the displacement of panel elements and which eliminates the

disadvantages mentioned above.

  The device according to the invention is of the type generally comprising two jaws adapted to be placed on each side of the element to be moved and a gripping handle adapted to, during its lifting, allow

  said jaws to be engaged with said element.

  It is essentially characterized in that the jaws are parallel, or substantially parallel, to each other and to the wind secured to a common support so as to form, with the latter, a "U" and in that the spacing of said jaws is adapted to allow their self-locking, by pivoting, on the walls opposite the element to be moved when the handle is lifted, which is integral with them, thus causing, in their displacement, the element with which they wind

in take.

  The handle of the device according to the invention can be placed on one side or the other

walls of the element to be moved.

or rubbery.

  has a slight clearance compared to the thickness of said element.

  The device also comprises, in addition, a strap (10), connected to the end of the handle (4) by means of a connecting device (11), intended to be worn over the shoulder by the user to facilitate handling of ['element (3). The device can be used in both directions by simple inversion. The hook-shaped connecting means (11) of the strap (10) is for this purpose associated with two symmetrical fixing orifices (12) and (13), belonging to the handle (4) which is

in this case tubular.
