Abstract

A DVD postcard has a rectangular shape which is about 10.5 x 7.5 x 0.15 cm with rounded angles and hole (21) of 1.5 cm diameter centered at the middle of its surface, to allow it to be inserted in the drawer of a DVD reader. The postcard is made of molded rigid plastic. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the utilization of this DVD postcard for correspondence and information support for educational, tourist or publicity purposes.

Description

L'invention concerne le DVD postal et son procédé de fabrication faisant appel à son moule en trois parties. Le DVD postal de l'invention est prétimbré de petit format qui sert pour la correspondance, de support d'information à caractère pédagogique, touristique, et sert également de support publicitaire. The invention relates to the postal DVD and its manufacturing process using its three-part mold. The postal DVD of the invention is pre-stamped in a small format which is used for correspondence, as a support for educational, tourist information, and also serves as an advertising support.

En effet, depuis sa création en 1861, la carte postale a peu évolué et ne renseigne pas précisément au destinataire sur la situation géographique, l'ambiance et les activités locales sur la ville, le lieu ou le monument représenté en photo... Contrairement à ces derniers, le DVD postal n'est pas une découpe faite dans un disque circulaire classique, mais il est moulé sur mesure et utilise la technologie DVD comme support de stockage d'informations numériques. Le DVD postal s'utilise donc seulement avec les lecteurs de DVD, et grâce à ses deux couches d'enregistrement sur une seule face, il peut contenir sur une surface équivalente jusqu'à 3,5 fois plus d'informations que les supports précédemment cités. Etant moulée sur mesure, on remarque que la face du DVD postal qui contient les informations n'est pas totalement argentée ou dorée comme le cas des disques découpés mais juste argenté ou doré sur une petite surface utile contenant les informations (23). L'outil de base pour la fabrication du DVD postal est constitué de différents moules de formes rectangulaires à l'extérieur, en acier trempé et poli en trois parties suivantes :
Une partie mobile en vue interne (Fig. 1) qui sert pour refermer le moule avec ses quatre trous de positionnement (1) vers les quatre angles pour recevoir les colonnes (Fig. 2) (4). Par rapport à un DVD classique (Fig. 5), on constate que le DVD postal (Fig. 6 & 7) est plus épais d'environ 0,3 millimètres, ceci est dû à ses 5 couches supplémentaires qui sont repérées par : (14 & 16) au recto et (17,18 & 19) au verso. Compared to a conventional DVD (Fig. 5), we see that the postal DVD (Fig. 6 & 7) is about 0.3 mm thicker, this is due to its 5 additional layers which are identified by: ( 14 & 16) on the front and (17,18 & 19) on the back.

Pour la partie centrale, on retrouve à peu près les même couches (8,9, 10,11, 12,13 & 15) assurant les mêmes fonctions mais avec des épaisseurs, des matières et des surfaces différentes. For the central part, we find almost the same layers (8,9, 10,11, 12,13 & 15) ensuring the same functions but with different thicknesses, materials and surfaces.

Claims

CLAIMS 1. Postal DVD characterized by its rectangular shape which is approximately 10.5 X 7.5 X 0.15 cm with rounded angles and a hole (21) of 1.5 cm in diameter centered in the middle of its surface to allow its insertion in a DVD player with drawer.

2. Postal DVD according to claim 1, characterized in that it is molded using different rectangular molds (Fig. 1 to 4) and in that it uses DVD technology as a storage medium for digital information. .

3. Postal DVD according to claim 1, characterized in that it can contain on the front (Fig. 8) the following different types of images: a holographic image; a classic photo; two interleaved images which are covered with a layer of transparent plastic, the upper surface of which is formed by lenticular bands.

Depending on the angle of incidence with which the postal DVD is observed, the following two images can be seen separately: + a photo representing a monument or a tourist place; + a geographical plan, designating the place of this photo as well as various information.

4. Postal DVD according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that it contains on the back (Fig. 10) an optonumeric zone (23) centered in the middle of the card and which is approximately 5.5 centimeters in diameter, containing the following information: * a pre-recorded multilingual non-zoned tourist documentary film detailing the place shown in the photo on the front of this card; * digital photos related to this same place.

5. Postal DVD according to claims 1 and 4 characterized in that a granular plastic film (Fig. 6 & 7) (19) covers the back, with the exception of the optonumeric zone (Fig. 10) (23 ), on this film being printed the following different areas: an area for correspondence (22); an advertising area (24); an area for the recipient's address (25); a postage paid area (26) which may include either: - a pre-paid stamp printed in series;

- an empty rectangle for the location of a stamp.

6. Postal DVD according to claim 1 and 4 characterized in that a user manual printed on a transparent plastic film (20) is temporarily bonded to the optonumeric zone to protect it from friction during shipment.

7. A method of using the postal DVD according to claims 1 to 6, characterized by its use for correspondence, of educational, tourist information medium, and also as advertising medium.
