Abstract

DESCRIPTION

  The invention relates to an assembly for adjusting the height of a tennis court net intended to adapt a net initially positioned for a double game into a position net for a single game without intervening in the initial adjustment and setting _uvre, on each side of the net, poles for holding the latter and stakes for raising said net placed at the regulatory distance from each of said posts and supporting the carrying cable of said net at the regulatory height. The dimensions of a tennis court, the position, the width and the height of the

  net are governed by very strict rules in double play as in single play.

  The main regulatory provisions are set out below.

  The court is a rectangular lot 23.77 m long and 8.23 m wide. It is divided in the middle by a net suspended on a rope or a metal cable with a maximum diameter of 0.8 cm, the ends of which are fixed to (or pass over the

  upper part of) two posts of square section, 15 cm side maximum.

  These posts must not exceed the top of the rope or cable by more than 2.5 cm. The center of these posts must be located outside the court, 0.91 m from the side lines and the height of the posts must be such that the top of the rope or

  metal cable is 1.07 m from the ground.

  When a short is. used for a single with a double net, the net must be kept at a height of 1.07 m by means of single posts of square section, 7.5 cm side or maximum, or circular 7.5 cm maximum diameter. The center of these singles stakes must be located 0.91 m apart

  parallel to it are drawn at a distance of 6.40 m the service lines.

  To allow the passage from double to single, a tracing on the ground, giving the exact position of the base of the stake, is carried out on each court. Then the two -2

  stakes are positioned, vertical, on said locations.

  Such a manual practice has the drawbacks linked, on the one hand, to the placement of said stakes (no mechanical support other than the ground and difficult pivoting to exert the desired pressure under the cable to bring it back to the desired height S ) and, on the other hand, to the line which, at the start, may present a measurement inaccuracy bounded to the very thickness of it and, over time, may present a

  positioning imprecision linked to its effectively progressive.

  The assembly according to the invention has been designed, designed to remedy these various drawbacks, as well as those linked to the lack of stability and verticality of its stakes. To this end, it relates to an assembly which is characterized in that: - each stake is connected, in simple play, to the post on which it depends by a device whose length is defined to guarantee the correct positioning of said stake relative to said post and of which the rigidity is defined to guarantee the good verticality of said stake; each post includes a housing capable of containing, in double play, the means and

the stake.

  Said device consists of two articulated arms, on the one hand, between them, by means of a common articulation and, on the other hand, at the base of the post, by means of an articulation for the first and, at the base of the pillar, by means of a joint for

  The characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more

  preferred embodiment thereof given by way of non-limiting example and shown in

attached drawings.

  The assembly (shown in the figures) for adjusting the height of a tennis court net -3 is intended to adapt a net initially positioned for a double game into a net positioned for a single game without intervening on the initial adjustment and using, on each side of the net, posts (1) for holding the latter and stakes (2) for raising said net placed at the prescribed distance from each of said posts (1) and supporting the cable ( 3) bearer of said

net at regulatory height.

  According to the essential characteristics of the invention: - each stake (2) is connected, in a simple game, to the post (1) on which it depends by a device (4,5) whose length is defined to guarantee the correct positioning of said stake (2) relative to said post (1) and whose rigidity is defined to guarantee the good verticality of said stake (2); each post (1) comprises a housing (6) capable of containing, in double play, the

device (4,5) and the stake (2).

  According to particular features of the invention: - the device (4,5) consists of two articulated arms (4) and (5), on the one hand, between them, by means of a common articulation (7) and, on the other hand, at the base of the post (1), by means of a hinge (8) for the first (4) and, at the base of the pillar (2), by means of a hinge (9 ) for the second; the device (4,5) and the stake (2) are, in the folded position inside the housing (6) of the post (1), bearing, for the first, against a plate (10), articulation (7 ) at the top, for the second, against a plate (11), articulation (9) at the bottom; - the stake (2) comprises, in the upper part, two lateral flanges (12) and (13) for guiding the cable (3) and a rounded element (14) on which said cable rests when the assembly (2,4, 5) is deployed;

  - the opening of the housing (6) can be closed by a cover.

  The articulation (9) is integral with a plate (16) fixed inside the post (2).

  The cable (4) is connected to a take-up reel (17).

  Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown for which other variants can be provided, in particular in: - the type of device (4,5) used provided that the criteria are met regulatory length and verticality; - the types of housing (6) and stops (11,12) of the posts; - the type of stake used;

  without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (4)

  1- Set for adjusting the height of a tennis court net intended to adapt a net initially positioned for a double game into a net positioned for a single game without intervening in the initial adjustment and implementing each side of the net, posts (1) for holding the latter and stakes (2) for raising said net placed at the prescribed distance from each of said posts (1) and supporting the cable (3) carrying said net at height ment ment reg; characterized in that each stake (2) is connected, in simple play, to the post (1) on which it depends by a device (4,5) whose length is defined to guarantee the correct positioning of said stake (2) relative to said post (1) and whose rigidity is defined to guarantee the good verticality of said stake (2); and in that each post (1) comprises a housing (6) capable of containing, in play   double, the device (4,) and the stake (2).   2- An assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the device (4,5) consists of two articulated arms (4) and (5), on the one hand, between them, by means of a common articulation ( 7) and, on the other hand, at the base of the post (1), by means of an articulation (8) for the first (4) and, at the base of the pillar (2), at   by means of a joint (9) for the second.   3- An assembly according to claim 2, characterized in that the device (4,5) and the stake (2) are, in the folded position inside the housing (6) of the post (1), in support, for the first, against a plate (10), articulation (7) in   top, for the second, against a plate (11), articulation (9) below.   4- An assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the stake (2) comprises, in the upper part, two lateral flanges (12) and (13) for guiding the cable (3) and a rounded element (14) on which said cable rests when the assembly (2,4,5) is deployed.   - Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims,
