Abstract

The system consists of a number of trays (1) made from a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard and having polygonal bases (3) and raised sides (4). The trays are supported by polygonal-section pillars (2) made from folded tubes (5) of the same material, fastened by tabs and slots, and made with cut-outs to receive the tray corners. The number of pillars between trays can be varied to adjust the spacing between them.

  SEMI-RIGID MATERIAL, FOR SALE EXHIBITION

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS.

  The present invention relates to a modular system of assemblable elements, made of a semi-rigid material such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for the display of various articles for sale. The invention also relates to elements made of a semi-rigid material entering

  in the constitution of such a system.

  There is more and more use, in mass distribution, of exhibition sets for sale of various objects, which are mounted on

  places of the offer for sale of these objects.

  Often used for this purpose a monobloc tray of semi-rigid material, which rests on a base, but such trays have a limited volume and, moreover, are not very attractive for

prospective buyers.

  The present invention seeks to remedy this drawback by proposing a modular system comprising a variable number of plates arranged in parallel to the horizontal and bearing in their angles on pillar elements arranged end to end, in variable number, to form vertical pillars of adjustable height,

  which serve as supports for the trays.

  It is thus possible to produce exhibition sets for sale of the desired height, with the number of shelves desired, in which the exhibits are perfectly visible and easily

accessible to the public.

  The subject of the present invention is therefore a modular system of elements which can be assembled in a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for the display of various articles for sale, this system being characterized in that it comprises: - a plurality of plates each comprising a polygonal bottom and side walls adjoining this bottom by fold lines and erected perpendicular thereto; - A plurality of tubular sheaths of polygonal section, arranged end to end and assembled together by interlocking to form vertical pillars serving as supports for the plates; and in that, in one face of the tubular sleeves facing the plates, a cut is made in which is engaged a

  corner part of one of the plates, the various cutouts being arranged in such a way that the bases of the plates thus supported

  are arranged horizontally in parallel.

  It will be noted that the plates are not necessarily rectangular and that the distance separating the contiguous plates can be modified, by interposing a different number of sleeves between the

successive trays.

  The sleeves can have any cross section, for example triangular, square or rectangular, and their embodiment can be absolutely arbitrary. They can be obtained by judiciously folding a series of adjoining strips together by parallel fold lines and by locking them in the folded position, for example by engagement of a tongue adjoining laterally to a strip disposed at a lateral end. from the strip series in

  a slot in the strip arranged at the other end.

  At least one of these bands, housed inside the sheath part and covered by another band in the series can project outside the sheath at one of its longitudinal ends, while its other end is shorter than those of the other bands in the series. It is thus possible, in a simple manner, to assemble the sleeves together by interlocking by engaging the projecting part or parts

  the band or bands of one of the sheaths inside another sheath.

  These sheaths constitute another object of the present invention.

In these drawings: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the system according to the invention; Figure 2 is a partial view on a larger scale illustrating the engagement of a corner of a tray of this system in the associated cutout formed in one face of a sleeve of a pillar - support of the system; FIG. 3 represents such a sheath. FIG. 4 represents the blank of corrugated cardboard which is precut and pushed back (pre-folded), from which the sheath part of FIG. 3 originates.

  Figure 5 illustrates the mounting of a sheath.

  The embodiment of the system according to the invention

  shown in these drawings is naturally in no way limiting.

  It comprises a plurality of trays 1 made of corrugated cardboard, here two in number, and pillars 2, also made of corrugated cardboard, here numbered four, supporting these trays. The plates 1 have a bottom 3, here of rectangular shape, but which could have any other polygonal shape, to which are adjoining along its edges, by fold lines, walls 4 erected perpendicular to the bottom 3 and locked in position

  rectified by any means known in the art.

  The pillars 2 consist of sheaths 5, here of triangular section, arranged end to end and assembled by interlocking of parts projecting at the end of a sheath in the contiguous sheath. Each sheath 5 is made up of a series of bands, here five in number, 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d and 5e, hinged together by parallel fold lines. The strips 5a, 5b and 5_c are folded here at 600 relative to each other, to obtain a triangular cross section, and the strips 5d and 5e come to cover the strips 5Sa and 5b respectively. The scabbard section could

  naturally as well be square or rectangular.

  A tongue 6 is attached laterally by a fold line parallel to the previous ones to the strip 5Se, disposed at a lateral end of the series of strips, so as to be able to come to engage, through a cutout 7 formed in the central strip 5_c of the series, in a slot 8, formed in the corresponding position in the strip Sa, at its articulation line on the strip 5b, to lock

the sleeve in the assembled position.

  Instead of using an assembly tab 6, the strips could naturally be assembled by gluing or by any other means. The cutouts 7 formed in the strips 5_c of the sleeves 5 are intended to receive the parts of the corner of the trays 1, which are thus

  supported by the pillars 2 formed by the sleeves.

  In order to be able to assemble the sheaths 5 of the same pillar 2 together, by interlocking their opposite ends, one end of the bands Sa and 5b projects beyond the bands 5c, 5d and Se, so as to

  protrude above the sheath, while the opposite end of these bands 5a and 5b is shorter than that of the contiguous bands. It is thus very easy to engage the part of the bands Sa and 5b projecting outside a sheath 5 inside the sheath arranged in its extension. It is thus possible to vary in a simple manner the spacing between trays 1, by interposing different numbers of sleeves 2, so as to make the articles exposed and perfectly visible.

Claims (6)

  1. Modular system of elements which can be assembled in a semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for the display of various articles for sale, this system being characterized in that it comprises: a plurality of trays (1) each comprising a polygonal bottom (3) and side walls (4) adjoining this bottom by fold lines and erected perpendicular thereto; - A plurality of tubular sleeves (5) of polygonal section, arranged end to end and assembled together by interlocking to form vertical pillars (2) serving as support for the plates (1); and in that, in one face (5_C) of the tubular sleeves (5) facing the plates (1), a cutout (7) is made in which is engaged a corner part of one of the plates, the different t5 cutouts (7) being arranged so that the bottoms (3) of   trays (1) are arranged horizontally in parallel.   2. System according to claim 1, characterized in that the sleeves (5) comprise a series of bands (Sa - Se) adjoining them by parallel fold lines and suitably folded, these bands being locked in the assembled position by any means known in the art.   3. System according to claim 2, characterized in that at least one (Sa, 5b) of the bands is disposed inside the sheath (2) and covered by another band (5d, 5e) from the series bands, this band (5a, 5b) projecting at one of its longitudinal ends outside the sheath, while its other end is shorter than that of the other bands.   4. Sheath usable for the realization of a system according to one   of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it comprises a series of   bands (5a - Se) adjoining them by parallel fold lines and suitably folded, these bands being locked in the assembled position by any means known in the art, at least one (5c) of these bands comprising a cutout (7 ) in which can   be engaged a corner part of a tray (1).   5. Sheath according to claim 4, characterized in that at least one (Sa, 5b) of the bands is disposed inside the sheath (2) and covered by another band (Sd, Se) from the series of bands, this 6 2812274   strip (5a, 5b) projecting at one of its longitudinal ends outside the sheath while its other end is shorter than that of the other bands.
