Abstract

The bird-scarer has a gun (1) with an explosion chamber (2) at one end, which is connected to a bottle of gas (8) and to an igniter which triggers detonation in the chamber. Delivery of gas is controlled by a solenoid valve, which is controlled by the same timer that controls the igniter. The unit is powered by a battery or by a solar panel (15), and timing is provided by a clock and capacitor.

Description

The present invention relates to a detonator device intended to distance animals from freshly sown crops and, more particularly, birds.

The invention relates to devices consisting of a body with a tubular element and which comprises means for filling an explosion chamber with gas and igniting said gas when the latter is filled with a certain volume of gas in order to generate a strong explosion.

Such devices are adjusted so that they are actuated at more or less regular time intervals and it has been found that very quickly animals, and especially birds, record the time elapsing between the explosions and, thus, some moments before these, moved away to return then.

The invention aims to improve such an apparatus. The apparatus according to the invention is of the type comprising a barrel with, at one end, an explosion chamber intended to be connected to a gas cylinder and means for igniting the gas when a certain amount of it ci has accumulated in the explosion chamber and is characterized in that it comprises means for controlling an explosion burst of at least three successive shots.

Thanks to such an arrangement, it was found that the birds did not register the time between the bursts and thus were frightened. Preferably, the apparatus includes means for adjusting the time interval between each burst of explosion.

According to a constructive detail, the device comprises a control box comprising a solenoid valve inserted on a conduit connecting the gas cylinder to the explosion chamber and controlled from a timer also controlling the ignition of the gas in the chamber d 'explosion.

Finally, the device includes a solar panel for charging a battery supplying a clock, the timer and a capacitor. The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to particular embodiments given by way of example only and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of an apparatus, according to invention.

Figure 2 shows in plan a face of the control box.

Figure 3 is a block diagram of the control box. Figure 4 is a plan view of the control unit. Figure 5 is a sectional view of said housing.

Figure 6 shows an embodiment with two rotating guns.

In Figure 1, there is shown in perspective an apparatus according to the invention, the latter comprising a barrel 1 having an explosion chamber 2 provided with two legs 3 secured to a base 4 intended to rest on the ground.

The legs 3 support a control unit 54 fixed by screws 6 and by a strut 7 secured to the base 4. A gas cylinder 8 is provided with a regulator 9, the outlet of which is connected by a flexible pipe 10 to a solenoid valve 25 of the control unit 5, the latter by a flexible pipe 11 supplying the explosion chamber 2.

The assembly is completed by a solar panel 15 supported by a stake 16 provided with a point 17 in the vicinity of which a wedge 18 extends in order to facilitate the engagement in the ground of said point 17.

The housing 5 includes a 12 volt battery 20 which supplies an electronic circuit, the battery 20 is charged by the solar panel 15.

The battery 20 supplies a clock 21 which makes it possible to adjust the operating cycle, for example the apparatus can start up in the morning around 7 hours and stop automatically at 9 pm. The clock 21 is in principle with "studs" 48 studs for 24 hours which allows the user to constitute a program of "on or off by half hour of the cannon. Either the day against the birds or the night against the crop predator animals.

A general switch 22 is provided to stop the device.

The solenoid valve 25 is controlled from the battery 20 by a timer 27. It is possible to provide a second solenoid valve 25a when the device comprises several guns 1, for example, two guns (see FIG. 6). From the battery 20 is supplied a capacitor 29 connected to a spark plug 30 housed in the explosion chamber 2 of the barrel.

I1 is provided with an adjustment button 24 of the timer 27 so as to be able to adjust the periods of time which elapse between the opening of the valve and the discharge command of the capacitor in order to produce a spark at the spark plug 30 to control the 'explosion and the next cycle.

The timer 27 allows three explosions to be commanded at time intervals of 8 to 15 seconds, the second explosion being commanded about 8 seconds after the first and the third about 15 seconds from the second.

The adjustment button 24 makes it possible to adjust the space of time separating the three successive explosions.

As can be seen in FIG. 2, the box 5 has a socket 31 for connecting a flexible conductor 32 connecting the solar panel 15 to the battery 20.

According to the various tests carried out, the device firing salvos three times, the birds fail to record the time elapsing between the salvos and are chased.

In Figure 6, there is shown an alternative embodiment in which the apparatus comprises a support 35 intended to be stuck in the ground and on which is mounted a rotary arm at the ends of which are mounted two guns la.

The arm supports a box 5a of the same type as the box 5 and two solar panels 15a supplying the battery 20 of the device.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have just been described and shown. Many modifications of detail can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.

Detonator apparatus for distancing animals of the type, comprising a cannon (1) with, at one end, an explosion chamber (2) intended to be connected to a gas cylinder (8) and means for igniting the gas when a certain amount of it has accumulated in the explosion chamber, characterized in that it comprises means for controlling an explosion burst of at least three successive shots. 2. Detonator device for keeping animals away, according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises means (24) for adjusting the time interval between each burst of explosion. 3. Detonator apparatus for keeping animals away, according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a control unit (5) comprising a solenoid valve inserted on a conduit (10, 11) connecting the gas cylinder to the explosion (2) and controlled from a timer (27) also controlling the ignition of the gas in the explosion chamber (2). 4. Detonator apparatus for keeping animals away, according to claims 1 and 3, characterized in that it comprises a solar panel (15) for charging a battery (20) supplying a clock (21), the timer (27) ) and a capacitor (29).
