Abstract

Buccal inhalation system consists of a moulded plastic tube (1) with an end shaped to receive an aluminum cylinder (5) of oxygen or curative gas. The tube is fitted with a disc (3) equipped with a hollow punch to pierce the cylinder, and a second spring-loaded disc (4) covering holes in the first disc and equipped with a rod to block the punch. The two discs and spring are made from stainless steel. The end of the tube containing the cylinder is closed by a cap containing a filter for incoming air.

Description

The present invention relates to a device allowing any person, nbcessitant or wishing, to inhale pure oxygen or a gaseous mixture (oxygen added with "healing gas") by simulating the act of "smoking" as it is usually made of a cigarette or tobacco cigar.

The oxygen previously compressed in a small aluminum alloy tank can be inhaled at the rate of a continuation of natural breathing, using the device according to the invention, by oral suction (as a smoker realizes).

The device according to the invention makes it possible, after introduction of the oxygen tank, to pierce it by screwing on a filtering tip and to hold the gas by a shutter needle actuated by a spring. The oral suction on the nozzle provided for this purpose will attract the "needle valve" which will compress the spring and which will let out the oxygen. This part of the device in action, additional air passing through a filter (which may contain a flavoring agent) allows total inspiration. The gaseous mixture "air enriched with pure oxygen" thus reaches the user's lungs.

As soon as the oral suction stops, the spring brings back the "needle valve" which again holds the oxygen in the tank.

Figure 4 shows in section on scale 1 the entire device of the invention.

Figure 5 shows at scale 1 the device of the invention.

According to a preferred embodiment the device for hinalizing by buccal suction a mixture of oxygen and filtered air comprises a TUBE (1) of suitable plastic material, molded and machined, in which has been fixed "by force" a PUNCH DISC (3) in stainless steel retaining a SHUTTER POINT DISC (4) in stainless steel actuated by a SPRING (4bis) in stainless steel.

The device receives a TUBULAR RESERVOIR (5) of oxygen or compressed healing gas, made of aluminum alloy, maintained by a THREADED END CAP (2) of suitable plastic material, molded and machined, comprising a FILTER CARTRIDGE (6) and screwing on the TUBE (1).

THE PUNCH DISC (3) perforates the oxygen or healing gas TANK (5) translated "in force" by the screwing action of the NOZZLE (2), which allows the PLUG DISK (4) actuated by SPRING (4a) to close the hole in the PUNCH DISC (3) and thus prevent gas leakage.

By mouth suction on the nozzle formed for this purpose from the TUBE (1), the POCKET DISK PUNCH (4) is attracted to let the gas escape from the TANK (5) and free the air passage holes of the PUNCH DISC ( 3).

The oral suction on the nozzle formed for this purpose of the TUBE (1) also allows outside air to circulate from the NOZZLE (2) pierced and grooved, through the FILTER CARTRIDGE (6), around the TANK (5), through the holes in the PUNCH DISC (3), through the holes in the PUNCH DISC (4) to mix with the gas and be inhaled.

When the suction stops, the SPRING (4a) brings back the POINTEAU DISC (4) to close the gas outlet orifice and the air inlet orifices of the PUNCH DISC (3).
