Abstract

A template (2), embodying a set of regularly notched parallel steel strips standing on their unnotched edges, is welded to the top face of a steel base-block (1). The notches conform in depth, profile and spacing to the channeled configuration to be impressed on the work-pieces. Each transverse row of notches falls immediately under one of e.g. 7 press tools (4), extending across all the rows, whose V-shaped cross-section corresponds to the notch profile. The tools are suspended in a robust frame (3), at heights determined by each tool's actuating hydraulic ram (5). An electronic controller (6) fixed to the base gives individual control over the rams, for each of which an operating lever (7) is provided. Each work-piece, a flat plate, is laid on the template and positioned against stops. The operator lowers the press tools and forms the V-channels either simultaneously or in succession. The force applied to each tool is sufficient to form the required folds without damaging the plate.

Ces poinçons (4) fabriqués selon la réplique exacte des ondulations demandées, vont intervenir lors du pliage pour donner à la plaque de lattis métallique (8) la forme espérée en venant s'emboîter dans le gabarit soudé sur le socle en acier de la machine.
