Abstract

The device contains a memory holding the telephone numbers of ambulance, fire and police services. The emergency telephone call device comprises a circular box containing a device which holds in memory three emergency telephone numbers. It has on the outside three luminescent buttons, each having a pictogram. One is square, one triangular and one circular and they are clearly marked to depict the ambulance service, fire service and police. They are also colour coded in three primary colours for the three services. The device may be associated with a fixed or mobile telephone, and if a fixed telephone may be part of a free-standing or wall-mounted model.

Description

The present invention relates to an emergency telephone call device enabling any normal, handicapped, visually impaired, elderly person and even a very young child to immediately call on a rescue service in shortest time possible.

In any distress situation, the urgency of a phone call is paramount to save a life even his own.

In an emergency, stress often causes a loss of resources and usually the panic paralyzes and makes forget the number to dial to call a rescue services.

A very young child (from about three years old) can also save a life if it is put at his disposal a suitable means very easily identifiable and manipulable.

The emergency call keys, object of this invention, a very simple to use will be the link between all of us and public help.

The emergency call system may be an integral part of an existing fixed or mobile telephone or may be attached to a fixed telephone.

The emergency call key system consists of three separate keys (the attached drawing illustrates the invention): - a square key with a red cross as a pictogram for the <B> SAMU, </ B> - a key triangular with a flashing light as a pictogram for the <B> POLICE </ B> or the <B> GENDARMERIE, </ B> - a round key with a flame as pictogram for <B> FIREFIGHTERS. </ B>

The three different geometric shapes of the keys will allow a child or a visually impaired person to call without hesitation.

The three keys must be protruding five millimeters from the base to be noticeable to the touch by a visually impaired person.

The three keys can be inserted during the manufacture of a new fixed or mobile telephone set or be on a specific box created only for this emergency call function and connected to a fixed station. The three keys will be luminescent in order to be easily identifiable in case of lack of luminosity.

After having answered the call, when the square key is pressed, the number 15 is automatically carried out, - on the triangular key, the number 17 is automatically done, - on the round key, the number 18 is done automatically. .

If the three keys are integrated on a fixed or mobile station, their dimensions will be on the scale of the other keys, on the other hand if the three keys are on a specific case their dimensions will be 2 cm of side for the square, 2 cm for the base of the triangle and its height and 2 cm in diameter for the round and the dimensions of the case are shown in the attached sketch.

The three call numbers are stored during the manufacture of the fixed or mobile handsets or the specific box according to the conventional technology of electronic components that can be found on any memory telephone.

This device is connected between the telephone wall jack and the telephone handset.

<B> CLAIMS </ B> 1) Emergency telephone call device appearing in the form of a specific housing characterized by its circular shape avoiding any inadvertent reversal, three orifices in the upper part to receive three call keys of different geometric shapes, a electronic portion inside the housing for storing three emergency numbers associated with said three call keys. 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the said three call keys are in the following form - a square key with the inscription EAU and the pictogram of a red cross, related to the call number 15, - a round key with the inscription FIREMEN and the pictogram of a flame, linked to the number 18, - a triangular key with the inscription POLICE and the pictogram of a beacon, linked to the number 17, and in that said three call keys are luminescent and project five millimeters from the top of the housing. 3) Device according to claim 1 or 2 characterized in that it is connected to a fixed telephone. 4) Device according to claim 1 or 2 characterized in that it is integrated with a fixed or mobile telephone.
