Abstract

The invention concerns thermo-refrigerating clay bags designed to be applied on the human body, acting by heat exchange for therapeutic treatment, consisting of: I) a clay paste or gel receiving cold and heat and restoring it; II) a flexible PVC bag containing the paste (I) and forming a thermo-refrigerating compress (Fig. I); III) or a flexible PVC bag containing the paste (I) and forming a thermo-refrigerating compress, provided with a transparent PVC window displaying the paste, and four hook and loop fastening strips for fixing (Fig. II); IV) or a flexible PVC bag containing the paste (I) forming a thermo-refrigerating headband (Fig. III); (V) or a semicylindrical flexible PVC bag, forming two sections, containing the paste (I) in one and air in the other and forming a thermo-refrigerating forming a cervical collar or the like (Fig. IV); (VI) or a semicylindrical flexible PVC bag integrally receiving the paste (I) and fixed with a hook and loop fastening strap forming on a bed an anti-bedsore pad (Fig. V); or a long and narrow PVC bag containing the paste (I) forming a strip (Fig. VI) wound around a lower limb and fixed by heat-welded hook and loop fastener, for relieving heavy legs and varicose veins in therapy by refrigeration.

Description

The present invention relates to an envelope thermo-fridge, of forms

  different, containing a paste or a natural gel based on clay, allowing thanks to a generator, to store heat or cold, then to restore them by application on the body for a therapeutic purpose, but also, when they are fixed inside an insulated box or tank, to maintain the temperature of a

  produced for several hours accepting a low caloric loss.

  There are compresses of different types: 1) based on paraffin: it only concerns heat because its solid state at room temperature removes its malleability, it can be heated in a double boiler or in an electric oven, but not in the oven loss of time on heating. In a bain-marie, lack of hygiene because the water is not heated to 100, therefore culture broth, more or less pathogenic cell deposits, deposit of

  sweating: no sterilization.

  The heated paraffin becomes liquid.   The compress according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. It is composed of: 1) a plastic envelope whose composition gives it a very great flexibility of 30 / 100th or 40 / 100th of a mm thick depending on the use, 2) a colloidal substance composed of white montmorillonite of Mediterranean basin or Wyoming bentonite, whose properties are to fix 15 times their volume in water, 3) an anti-cryptogamic which prevents the development of bacteria and molds, 4) an additive which makes it possible to prolong the conservation, ) normal or distilled water if you want to obtain a high stability of the paste, 6) a surfactant allowing to distribute the water uniformly in the montmorillonite or bentonite paste, which will allow to obtain a uniform heating over the entire volume of the compress. It is advisable to mix the 5 components, (2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6) so as to obtain a viscosity of approximately 120,000 centistock,

  the whole does not present any toxicity.

The compress according to the invention:

  A) Can be heated in a double boiler, in an electric oven but also in a micro- oven

  waves allowing rapid heating and better hygiene. It retains heat for one hour and releases it by direct application to the skin. In case of piercing, tearing or loosening of the welds, the envelope, the viscosity allows the paste or gel, not to spread on the body, thus avoiding the risk of burns, toxicity and soiling. The viscosity of the dough allows the compress to keep a uniform thickness, to mold perfectly on the

  body and offer it a uniform distribution and duration of heat.

  B) The compress can be cooled in a refrigerator set to 4 and then applied to the body. It keeps cold for 2 hours and restores it by direct application to the skin. The fact that no antifreeze is added in the pads intended for therapeutic applications allows the pad to freeze and makes it inapplicable to the body because of its rigidity, thus avoiding the risk of burns. The malleability allows it to shape all forms of the body and its viscosity to maintain a uniform thickness whatever the curve distributing the cold

fairly.

  C) These envelopes according to their shape can be used as compresses, headbands, mask, bra, anti-decubitus cushion, cervical pillow, in thermo-refrigeration, but also in the form of a wide strip to be wrapped around the lower limb, self-adhesive "velcro" type by their sides, allowing refrigeration,

  during the prevention and treatment of heavy legs and varicose veins.

  The medical compress includes: 1) A paste or gel (Plate 1/1, Figure 1B) of white Mediterranean montmorillonite or a Wyoming bentonite type "CLASOL W 100" = 15.8 kg mixed with 83.6 liters of distilled water or not , to which 0.3 kg of isothiasolin chloride type antiferment and 0.3 kg of sodium tetraborate are added to 10 mol of purified water to prolong storage, to which a surfactant such as "TEEPOL or PAIC" is added, 6 drops, all dosed for 100 kg of mixture. These dosages will be modified according to the degree of viscosity sought, current dosage of about 120,000 centistocks. The gel, to obtain a great smoothness, must have

  a fineness of 90% passing from 250 MESH and being mixed with distilled water.

  2) A rectangular PVC envelope, resistant and waterproof, with double thermo-welded walls at their peripheries, forming a compartment intended to receive the dough by means of a filling tube provided at one of its ends, forming a compress medical comprising: a) a flexible, transparent, circular PVC window, 2 cm in diameter, heat-sealed, provided at the end of a PVC sheet, making it possible to check the quality of the mixture and the appearance of any stains oxide or mold (Plate 1/1,

Figure IIB).

  b) Four heat-sealed "velcro" type strips (Plate 1/1, figure Il C)

  to ensure the compression of the compress thus produced.

  c) One smooth side for dry skin and one granite side for skin

  headache and hot for sinusitis.

The same,   placed under the soles of the feet in cold, refreshes the foot.   7) Medical compress according to claims (1 and 2) characterized in that   the envelope is made up of a semi-cylindrical shape (Figure V - IIA) which can be filled using a tube (Figure V - IIB) intended to receive the paste or gel, forming an anti-decubitus cushion fixed to the bed thanks to a band "velcro" type (Figure V - IIC) and sliding under three heat-sealed tabs (Figure V - IID) ensuring the stability of the cushion, this cushion being intended to lift the heel by bending   the Achilles tendon, kept cold thanks to the clay, avoiding bedsores.   8) Medical compress according to claims (1) and (2) characterized in that   the envelope consists of a rectangular, narrow, long strip (Figure Vl -   IA) composed of two walls forming a compartment being intended to receive the paste or the gel by a thermo-welded tube, and intended to be wound around the lower limb, its lateral edges being equipped with a strip (Figure Vl - lB) type thermo-welded "velcro", male and female, making it possible to ensure the containment of the strip during winding, this strip applied in cold ensuring an action   against circulatory venous disorders.   9) Medical compress according to any one of the preceding claims   characterized in that the envelope comprises: - a flexible, transparent, circular PVC window, 2 cm in diameter, heat-sealed, formed at the end of a PVC sheet, making it possible to check the quality of the mixture and the appearance of possible stains of oxide or mold (Plate 1/3, Figure IIB).   ) Medical compress according to any one of the preceding claims   characterized in that the envelope comprises: - A smooth face for dry skin and a granite face for skin   humid, promoting the circulation of sweat.
