Abstract

The opener comprises a rod (5) with a beveled end (6) able to engage between the ring and surface of the can. An opening (7) is able to hold the ring and rotate it relative to its fixing point, first in one direction through 180o and then in the opposite direction for a number of turns necessary to extract the face. The opener has a gripping handle (20) which can also be used for lifting bottle caps.

DESCRIPTION

  The invention relates to can openers for cans of the kind comprising a manual gripping ring capable of allowing

  the tearing of the face of the box on which it is fixed.

  Known boxes comprising this type of opening means have the following drawbacks: - to release the ring from the surface on which it is pressed, it is necessary to use a nail or the blade of a knife, which is not without consequences for the nail (deterioration) or the hand (risk of cutting); - to tilt the said ring and to open the top of the box, you must pull it, after having passed for example the index finger of the hand, which is not without consequences for the hand (risk of cutting with the edge of the lid which is very sharp) and for clothing (splashes of sauce for example when the lid is detached from the box); - during the previous manipulations, the hand opening the box did not

  no stable support point which does not facilitate said manipulations.

  It is to remedy these various drawbacks that the depositor has designed a can opener capable of carrying out the various operations.

  The can openers (1) shown, intended to open cans (4) of the kind comprising a manual gripping ring (2) capable of allowing the tearing of the face (3) of said box on which is fixed, all include, in combination: - a first means able to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box and to release it (A) from said face; - a second means capable of holding the ring (2) and driving it in rotation, first in one direction (B) of a value substantially equal to 180, then in the opposite direction (C) of a number of turns ensuring the whole

  According to a first variant of the invention (fig. 2), the can opener in question comprises, as a first means, a rod (5) whose end (6) is bevelled to engage between the ring ( 2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, an opening (7), formed on said rod (5), capable of receiving the ring (2) and subjecting it to the rotations

  According to a second variant of the invention (fig.3), the can opener in question comprises, as a first means, a rod (8) whose end (9) -3- is bevelled to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, a space (10), obtained by folding the end of the rod (8) on itself, capable of receiving the ring (2) and subjecting it to the rotations (B) and (C). According to a third variant of the invention (fig. 4), the can opener in question comprises, as a first means, a sheet (11) provided with a wall (12) whose thickness of its lateral edge is defined to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face and, as a second means, a space (13), obtained by folding the wall (14) of the sheet (11) on said wall (12), capable of receiving the ring (2) and subjecting it to rotation

(B) and (C).

  The sheet (11) has, at its fold, an opening (15) suitable

to let pass the ring (2).

  According to a fourth variant of the invention (fig.5), the can opener in question comprises, as a second means, a rod (16) whose end, split in the middle, comprises two arms (17), folded fork-shaped, each end (18) of which is bevelled to engage, individually, between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, the space (19), included between said arms (17), capable of receiving the ring (2) and

  to subject it to rotations (B) and (C).

  Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown for which other variants can be provided, in particular in the shape and design of the different models of can openers, provided that they can perform the operations

  (A), (B) and (C), without thereby departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (3)

  1- Can opener (1) for cans of the kind comprising a manual gripping ring (2) capable of allowing the tearing of the face (3) of the box (4) on which it is fixed, characterized in that that it comprises, in combination: 5 - a first means able to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face; - a second means capable of holding the ring (2) and driving it in rotation, relative to its fixing point (4) on the face (3) of the   box, first in one direction (B) with a value substantially equal to 180, 10 then in the opposite direction (C) by a number of turns ensuring the entire tearing of said face.   2- can opener according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, as a first means, a rod (5) whose end (6) is bevelled to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box15 on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, an opening (7), formed on said rod (5), suitable   receiving the ring (2) and subjecting it to the rotations (B) and (C).   3- can opener according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, as a first means, a rod (8) whose end (9) is bevelled to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, a space (10), obtained by folding the end of the rod (8) on itself , capable of receiving the ring (2) and subjecting it to the rotations (B) and (C). 25 4- Can opener, according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, as a first means, a sheet (11) provided with a wall (12) whose thickness of its lateral edge is defined to engage between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to the release (A) from said face, and, as a second means, a space (13), obtained by folding the wall (14) of the sheet (11) on said wall (12), capable of receiving the ring (2) and subject it to rotations (B) and (C).   - Can opener according to claim 4, characterized in that the sheet (11) comprises, at its fold, an opening (15) suitable to let pass the ring (2).   -5- 6- Can opener, according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, as a second means, a rod (16) whose end, split in the middle, comprises two arms (17), folded in fork shape, each end (18) of which is bevelled to engage, individually, between the ring (2) and the face (3) of the box on which it is fixed and to release it (A) from said face, and, as a second means, the space (19), included between said arms (17), capable of receiving the ring (2) and   to subject it to rotations (B) and (C).
