Abstract
Description
DESCRIPTION. Previously, the ultrasound conduction gel for ultrasound, doppler, and electrocardiographic examinations should not have antiseptic properties.
From February 6, 1996, the circular relating to article L-655-5 of the public health code notes that infectious dermatoses have been found following the use of gels conditioned in properly occluded cans.
Consequently, recommendations made by the national homologation committee were given in order to avoid these incidents:
-condition the gel in 250 ml cans and not in 5 liter cans,
- absolute necessity to put any can at the end of the day
started even if it was not fully used,
-use sterile gel in individual packaging in 5 cases
-existence of a recent operating scar
- skin wound
-operative ultrasound
-puncture and or biopsy
-endovaginal or endorectal examination.
glutaraldéhyde dans lequel la sonde doit être immergée.-disinfect the ultrasound probe with a product based on
glutaraldehyde in which the probe is to be immersed.
In practice, we realize that few practitioners observe these
recommendations which are restrictive and costly.
In order to respond to the problem, a new gel was invented which
exhibits satisfactory antimicrobial preservation.
auparavant; donc:
-facilité d'utisation en toute circonstance;
-inocuité antiseptique permettant d'éliminer tout risque
de dermatoses infectieuses;
-conditionnement possible en bidons d'ou économie
d'utilisation et inutilité de jeter le surplus de gel en fin de journée;
-inutilité de désinfecter systématiquement la sonde;
This new gel, thanks to these antimicrobial properties allows a
use of gel without change from what was done
previously; therefore:
- ease of use in all circumstances;
-Antiseptic safety to eliminate any risk
infectious dermatoses;
-conditioning possible in canisters or economy
use and uselessness of throwing away the excess gel at the end of the day;
-no need to systematically disinfect the probe;
- moreover, this gel does not alter conduction and does not damage
respondents.
'. This gel is made in the following way
For 15 liters of gel
- pour into a container between 10 and 20 free
15 liters on average in which we gradually insert
stirring with a 75 gr turbine of "carbopol 94011.
-on laisse reposer de 30 minutes à plusieurs heltres . - let stand for 30 minutes in several heltres.
(quelques gouttes).-then pour traces of patent blue
(few drops).
on verse 75 gr de glycérine et 15ml de formol.-in the solution while operating the turbine,
75 g of glycerin and 15 ml of formalin are poured in.
-on rajoute 40mil d'un antiseptique choisi dans
la classe des amidines biguanides : la chlorhexidine à 20%.- we add 40mil of an antiseptic chosen in
the biguanide amidine class: 20% chlorhexidine.
-on termine en ajoutant 97gr de triéthanolamide. -We finish by adding 97gr of triethanolamide.
-on stérilise la solution par autoclavage entre
50 et 200 soit idéalement 115-1160 pendant 30 minutes.
ou 121-1230 pendant 15 minutes.-the solution is sterilized by autoclaving between
50 and 200 is ideally 115-1160 for 30 minutes.
or 121-1230 for 15 minutes.
quantités allant de 50 à 200 gr (soit 0,33 à 1,33 % ).During our numerous tests, the concentrations announced seem to be
the best to optimize the product: however, it should be emphasized
that all of the components can be used in quantities
variables: we can estimate that:
-the "carbopol 940" can be used for
quantities ranging from 50 to 200 gr (i.e. 0.33 to 1.33%).
(soit 0,33 à 1,33 %).-glycerin in quantities ranging from 50 to 200gr
(i.e. 0.33 to 1.33%).
200 gr (soit 0,33 à 1,33 Z).-trihnolamide in amounts ranging from 50 to
200 gr (i.e. 0.33 to 1.33 Z).
(soit 3,03 à 0,33 %).- formalin in quantities ranging from 5 to 50 ml
(i.e. 3.03 to 0.33%).
à 50gr (soit 0,06 à 2% ).-chlorhexidine: the pure weight can range from 2
at 50gr (i.e. 0.06 to 2%).
The gel in an occluded bottle can be stored for 2 years.
When the bottle is opened, it can be kept for 45 days.
